This is a Thousand Trails park of yesteryear. Beautiful grounds, clubhouse at pool area, mini golf, pond, etc. We just stopped for quick overnight and got the last big rig site available (W/E only). Sites are very close together and only has 3 (out of 169) sites have 50 amp, so we were only able to run one A/C. We arrived just before 5:00 and it was 86 degrees so after we got settled, we headed to the pool to cool off. It was closed! I just can't imagine why a pool would be closed when it's still summer. Wifi is non existent and Verizon cell coverage was minimal. Overall, a nice park for an overnight but we wouldn't book an extended stay. We camped at Thousand Trails Preserve / Wilmington in a Motorhome.

Staff was nice enough to take us in a golf cart to check the site and also to see the best way to approach the site, since we have a very large unit and tow vehicle. Only got a 30 amp site and it was hot, so had to juggle both a/c units for best result. Grounds were very nice and staff very helpful. Still, mostly seasonal which makes getting a good site hard for us that travel. We camped at Thousand Trails Preserve / Wilmington in a Fifth Wheel.

We reserved a week in advance through their national call center. The website stated to call ahead to make arrangements for late arrival. We called several times in the afternoon when we knew we would be running an hour late and left a message and they did not return our call. We showed up and it was closed. Another RV showed up too with same story. Phone number on door was disconnected. We were all very frustrated. Then out of the blue a golf cart comes out of the camping area gate and we finally get checked in. She was slurring her words and complaining about the air conditioning and ignored a phone call while checking me in. So she doesn't answer calls or return phone calls. The campsite and grounds were just fine. Our site wasn't level and chocking was necessary and the electrical box cover fell off when we opened it to plug in and weren't sure how to fix it. Also didn't have full hookups like we hadn't requested and paid for. But they had a dump station so it was fine for a short stay. We camped at Thousand Trails Preserve / Wilmington in a Travel Trailer.

Nice clean park with all the amenities. Very much an old style 1000 Trails Park. The Wifi is useless and cell coverage spotty. The hot tub was cold and not maintained through the pool is nice. We stayed as a 1000 trails member so they put us in a 30 amp site. We camped at Thousand Trails Preserve / Wilmington in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Just an hour away from the Air Force Museum in Dayton. The town of Wilmington is worth a visit. It's a typical rural small down desperately, and successfully, trying to stay alive. Don't miss the General Denver Hotel Restaurant.

This was a nice park. We stayed offseason, but the pool was still open. Nice pool and hot tub. The grounds were large and well kept. TV signal was Ok, WIFI only at certain buildings and not great even then. Verizon service was ok. Staff was accommodating.

When booking online we were told there was no sewer hookups but on arrival we were placed at a site with a sewer hookup. We camped at Thousand Trails Preserve / Wilmington in a Travel Trailer.

This has the bones to be a really nice park. Herein is the problem at least for those who travel. We are finding more and more TT parks are catering to the "annual" campers who take up all the large, nice and/or fhu or 50 amp sites leaving those of us who travel from park to park and want to see the country in a dilemma when we try to find a spot we can fit in while 100 spots are taken by campers whose occupants are not even in the park. (after labor day, sites are full, but nobody here). When we arrived here, there was 1 spot we could fit in and get a fhu albeit 30amp when we need 50. There needs to be a compromise with members/annuals/management so that there is not just w/e for those who want to travel. The roads are dusty and a bit rutted, but that is also normal for TT parks. That said, the amenities worked, the employees friendly and we would return if in the area. I do hope that something can be worked out as far as the annuals so we ALL have opportunities for the same amenities. We camped at Thousand Trails Preserve / Wilmington in a Fifth Wheel.

This could easily become one of our favorite parks but we don't come to Ohio often. When we do, this is where we will stay. The park is well kept and full of large mature trees. There is only 30 amp electrical service but it wasn't a problem since the weather was cool. We are an older couple and appreciate the quiet atmosphere. There are things for kids to do, including a playground, miniature golf, a catch and release pond, and a canoeing pond.
Verizon coverage is good and, if you pick a site carefully, your satellite TV will work well, too. We camped at Thousand Trails Preserve / Wilmington in a Fifth Wheel.

The rate reflects TT membership. With only 30 amp sites we were very uncomfortable in 90 degree temps. Very few level sites. The staff were very helpful as with all TT campgrounds. We would stay here again. We camped at Thousand Trails Preserve / Wilmington in a Motorhome.

We stayed here in a 40 foot 3 slide motorhome. We are TT members hence the $1.00. The park is typical TT, 30 amp, water and some sites are sewer too. The interior roads are gravel, the sites are gravel too. The site we had was very un-level. ATT was good, water pressure and electric also good. The park staff, especially at check in could not have been more pleasant . We would stay here again. We camped at Thousand Trails Preserve / Wilmington in a Motorhome.

We like this park for its easy access to I-71. We stop here every year on way to and from Florida. Nice people, nice staff, and with Passport America discount a good value. The park roads are gravel but well maintained and can accommodate big rigs. Sites are gravel. Ours was not quite level and could have used a little more gravel. As this was the first weekend, they were opened for the season. It appeared they were still doing some spring maintenance. This park only has 2 pull thrus which are really just curves in the road but it worked well for us as we only spent 1 night and left early in the morning. There is no cable so if you are relying on a satellite dish it may be a problem getting signal as the park is mostly wooded. The few sites without trees appeared to be occupied by seasonal campers. We camped at Thousand Trails Preserve / Wilmington in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Since this is an Encore park be sure to reserve ahead of time. They do not do drive in only reservations. Also, its on a first in gets first choice on sites. You cannot hold a specific site.

This campground is on a nice piece of property. The maintenance is poor. You are allowed to choose your own site from those available (many or most are taken by seasonal trailers) and we did, only to find that the first 2 that we chose had defective electrical connections. Worse, when we tried to call the 24-hour help line, no one answered after several frantic calls. In fact no one ever called us back. There are a lot of weeds here and there and I wouldn't be eager to jump into the small indoor pool. The walking trails through the 3 loops and the woods are pleasant and there is a pond with geese. The bathrooms and showers are old but clean. We camped at Thousand Trails Preserve / Wilmington in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects TT zone pass. Only 3 lots with 50amps and those are taken by annual users. We liked this park. Didn't know what to expect based on previous comments but we thought the campgrounds were well maintained. There is a incline in the back of C loop but it isn't necessary to go there if you don't want to. We stayed in A loop. Everyone was very nice. There are several annual renters but everything was well kept. We enjoyed our stay and will come again. We camped at Thousand Trails Preserve / Wilmington in a Travel Trailer.

Nice and clean park, hard to get a sewer site as they are mostly taken by seasonal campers, which is not what Thousand Trails was set up as. Park grounds kept very clean, well cared for. The pool is indoors which is nice but in dire need of a paint job, you could feel the paint flaking off the bottom. Wi-Fi only at the lodge which is usual for TT parks but got slower as more were on it. We will return. We camped at Thousand Trails Preserve / Wilmington in a Fifth Wheel.

We arrived on a Tuesday afternoon and were told that there was only one full hook up site left. We went straight to it and claimed it. The reason there is a shortage is because, as is common for Thousand Trails, they have sold so many sites to seasonals. The preserve is nice - wooded and hilly. Using my cell booster I had solid 4G. We were in loop A and had a poor connect to park Wi-Fi. We were there over Independence Day and there were plenty of activities scheduled. Some got rained out, but that's certainly not the park's fault. On Sunday some of the seasonal residents brought in a couple of gospel quartets for a concert. It was very good. You want A or C loop. You really don't want B for anything other than a short stay. It is the original park with tighter sites, no sewer hookups or even restrooms. While there we especially enjoyed a day at the National Museum of the USAF. We camped at Thousand Trails Preserve / Wilmington in a Fifth Wheel.
