Very small park with no services, on base, open to those with military affiliation only. No bathrooms or showers. Run by Outdoor Recreation, and the customer service was great. Good wifi and cell signal. Right across the street from the commissary. Decent value, although this isn't much of a place to visit, just a stopping over point. Lots of aircraft noise into the late hours of the night. All sites back in. - KAP99

This is a new RV area in the city park right next to the volunteer fire dept. Area is no frills, no trees (yet), no restrooms, no laundry. But the sites are level, good water and pressure, and good electrical power. We've been here for a month and the rate reflects that. You have to go to city hall in this small town and pay for the sites. They do not take reservations. Once a month they have a bluegrass jam session at the VFD with burgers for sale. In Oct they have a big bluegrass festival. The area is a huge park so dog walking is no problem. Have a play ground for kids and a covered pavilion. No picnic tables or BBQ grills. We will stay again. - Native Texan

Beautiful area with lots of deer. If you're a nature buff, it's a great place! No cable or WiFi or 4G phone. Spaces are plenty big. Plenty of flying insects! This campground, as well as several Oklahoma campgrounds, are full of traveling workers and not that many vacationers. We'd probably stay here again, after we buy a satellite dish. - User3413

Second stay here and love this park. Lots to do. Scissor tail has long, fairly level, pull thrus, fire rings, BBQ and picnic tables. Will try to stay here a week next time. Beautiful, well maintained park. Also has two single wide trailers reserved for active duty or retired military! - horsefolk

Stayed here in mid December. More deer than RV'rs. Nice and quiet and not too far from Altus. Not really in Lone Wolf, Lone Wolf is further on up the road. Closer to Altus, and The Back Door Steak House is nearby in Blair and makes a really good steak. I do recommend it. You will really like this state park in the winter if you like peaceful quiet RV-ing. - flyemlow

I spent one night here in my teardrop trailer and enjoyed the overall experience. Lovely park. The camp host was friendly and helpful, and the restrooms were clean enough. I paid for my shower with quarters, but that was okay since the water was hot. I do have two beefs related to the restroom/shower setup. First, while there was a paved parking area between the facilities and the main road, from my campsite I had to walk across an extensive grass lawn to access the restroom/shower building. Surely the state of Oklahoma could provide a sidewalk to help campers get there from their camp sites without having to trudge through wet grass in the morning. My second beef was with the spiders-not all of them teeny-tiny either!-running around inside the shower room. Now, I happen to appreciate spiders and their important role in the ecosystem, but this was a true turn-off. Hard to relax and enjoy your nice hot shower when you've got creepy-crawlies sharing your space. - NMCamper

This park is a fisher's delight, but also good for nature lovers. It is clean, including private bathrooms - which contain a sink, toilet and shower. Large sites with nice grass; no bad stickers for dog. Few trees for shade. Our lakeside site had no sewer. Just about all had water views. Trails are many and mostly require moderate hiking skill. - Okiedoke
Sep 2016 - $23.00
The park was well kept, but had minimal shade. Very level site, we stayed in #32. The campground is very scenic. There are not full hookups available right at the lake. It was nice, but definitely needs more shade trees around the sites. We stayed here for Labor Day weekend, so all the sites were full. Was able to use both Sprint and Verizon wireless, with good reception. Dish Network was also easily accessible. - KLenore
