Elk City KOA was a good overnight stop for us. We were able to keep our tow car attached for a quick getaway in the morning. Sites are shady, so care must be taken to maneuver around trees. Our assigned site (56) wins the prize for "most level" we've parked in this summer! The cable TV was non-functional during our stay. We were able to pick up about 10 broadcast channels, but opted not to watch. We did not utilize the park WiFi. GPS units will definitely indicate campers should get off I-40 at the wrong exit. Remember what the owner says, because he is right: "Get off at Exit 50 -- we are the only thing here, you can't miss us". Elk City KOA features a small restaurant with offerings for both breakfast and dinner. The menu includes breakfast pizza, burritos and biscuits, as well as regular pizza, wings, pulled pork sandwiches and more. We did not eat there, so cannot review the cooking. This park does not recycle. We were pleasantly surprised to find a mowed path from the back of the park which led to a local lake. We camped at Elk City / Clinton KOA in a Motorhome.

Stayed here for one night on our way home. Great park, fairly new owners making improvements. Staff are very friendly. The restaurant was very good and they have a little mini store for your camping needs. Our site was level and spacious, lots of shade trees. We didn't use the pool but it did look inviting. Great dog park, our dogs loved it! One of the better KOA's we've stayed at. There was a funnel cloud right after we checked in and they let us stay in the office with our dogs. They explained their process in case of a tornado, yes they have a tornado shelter! We felt very safe. We will definitely be back! We camped at Elk City / Clinton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Typical 50 year old Route 66 KOA park. Needs a lot of updates, new owners and staff are working hard. Stayed here twice during our trip, mainly because of staff. We camped at Elk City / Clinton KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This is an older but very nice KOA. It is a smaller park with a limited number of 50 amp sites - so if you need 50 amps, be sure to get reservations. It is located west of Clinton (near Foss) along old Route 66. Don't follow Garmin instructions if approaching from the east, go to the "Exit 50"! Very relaxed and serene camp environment. We would return. We camped at Elk City / Clinton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Really nice campground right off I-40. Nicely paved road and site pad. FHU with cable TV. Wi-Fi weak, but works. I had no problems navigating my rig to or into the site. My motorhome and toad are 58 feet. Short hike to Clinton Lake down the marked trail. Freeway noise is surprisingly low. Good food in their shop, BBQ beef sandwich was delicious. Trees provide some shade. Sites are a bit close, but they seem to try and keep an empty between campers. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Elk City / Clinton KOA in a Motorhome.

Had to stop for tire repair on motorhome. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Stayed longer than we planned due to bad weather, again staff went out of their way to assist. Park has narrow, pull thrus with shade. Cafe at office has good samdwiches and pizza. We camped at Elk City / Clinton KOA in a Motorhome.

Older park that is located right off I-40. Lots of trees that make pulling into your site a little difficult. Sites are asphalt, narrow but long enough to stay hooked up. Not much space between sites. Limited cable, picnic table, camp store and cafe. Nice dog park. Was an ok park but not worth the price tag. The KOA we stayed in the night before we twice as nice and $10 less. Probably won't stay here again. We camped at Elk City / Clinton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We had been here before and had no problems. The park has most of the usual KOA amenities. The pool was closed for the season and the internet was down. We had a short, narrow, pull through, FHU site on a gravel pad. We had reserved a site with cable TV, but the site had no cable connector. I walked back to the office and told them that our site had no cable connection. Instead of simply telling me to connect to the site next to me, the women went into a spiel about how old the park was and, if we did not like the set up, we could leave. A guy met me back at the site and gave the some story but did make sure I got connected OK. It sounds like they get this complaint a lot and tell the customer to "love it or leave it". Later the owner came by with the same story plus a threat to through us out because we complained. He was very aggressive to the point of reminding me of schoolyard bully. We won't be returning here. We camped at Elk City / Clinton KOA in a Motorhome.

This is is a good overnight park. My view is that few KOA's are worth the premium price you pay. They said, this was a a nice clean park and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The site was level and all utilities including cable. Wifi is good during the day but slows down in the evening when the park fills up. We camped at Elk City / Clinton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Watch out for overhead clearance due to overhanging trees. I missed hitting a branch with the awning cover on the passenger side of my 45' bus by about two inches. Otherwise everything was satisfactory. Really friendly staff. We camped at Elk City / Clinton KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Route 66 museum is fun. If you want a good steak try the Portobello Grill. Saturday night prime rib special. Perfectly cooked, very tender and really delicious. The actual town of Elk City is about 15 miles further west on I-40

For us this was an overnight stop on our way West. Access off an on the highway was easy. We stopped for fuel at the exit for the campground. We had a full hookup pull through site that was level and easy to enter. The only strange part was leaving. Depending on the loop you are on, you may meet another camper coming toward you on the one lane road. So.... look to see who's leaving at the same time. We camped at Elk City / Clinton KOA in a Travel Trailer.

When going through Oklahoma on I-40 W, we have stayed at several other rv parks. This is the nicest in the Elk City area. The rate listed is for 3 adults. The help is extremely friendly and helpful. The RV park is nicely shaded and easy to navigate. Full hookups work well. Nice pool behind the office. They just built a huge dog park in the back of the RV park. Sites are very clean and level. The numerous shade trees are cut high enough so motorhomes/campers do not scrape the limbs. WiFi was excellent. They do have cable but it was fuzzy...used our satellite. We will stay here again on our next trip through. We camped at Elk City / Clinton KOA in a Motorhome.

Rate is for a family of 5 with no discounts. They are accommodating and put us next to the pool so we could let the kiddos swim under easy supervision. The playground is from yesteryear and has the fun equipment not found in most places today; our kids love it. When the wind picks up along 40 this is great campground to shut down in because it has trees and seems to be somewhat blocked. For the rate I would expect a bit more care of the grounds but it's by no means run down. Site was level and all facilities were in order. We camped at Elk City / Clinton KOA in a Motorhome.
