This is a no frills City campground, pull throughs are long but quite narrow, good AT&T cell & 3 bars of LTE data, Dish sat & OTA's reception is good. Fairly close to I-40 so there is some road noise. There are 2 sections to this park. One is water/electric for $15 per night and the other is water/electric/sewer for $20 per night. Payment is on the honor system and the Ranger comes through a couple of times per day checking on things. There were no locks on the power boxes so they must have removed them. There is a Walmart 2 miles away. We camped at Lake El Reno RV Park in a Motorhome.

Based on the positive reviews, we pulled in late afternoon for what we hoped would be a pleasant stay. After selecting a site, while setting up. I found all the power boxes to be locked. After a fashion, a woman from another camper came over with a telephone number that had to be called if you wanted to hook up. I called the number, and sure enough an employee showed up after about 10 minutes and unlocked the box. He said they had problems with people not paying and the system has only been in place about a month. So if you come in late, what happens. You call and get him out of bed? Rest rooms and showers are usable, but marginal. The interstate is close, but not too intrusive. Plenty of sites, probably never filled up Good for an overnight stay. Be advised that the number is posted on the check in board (which we didn't notice) and you should call him first thing when you arrive, hopefully not late at night. This is the weirdest system we have ever run into in years of travel. Don't know how long it will be in place. They really need a site manager. Otherwise this could be a nice park, with a little TLC for the bathrooms. We camped at Lake El Reno RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

A lovely, large city owned park with campground on a lake. Big rig friendly with some very long pull through gravel sites. Sites are a bit close together, but since it wasn't very crowded when we were here, people seemed to leave spaces between them and others. Great price at $20/night with full hookups and lots of open grass areas to let the dogs run. Close, easy drive to Oklahoma City. The bad....VERY loud, constant 24 hour road noise from the nearby interstate. Lots of fast traffic through the park and campground bordering on dangerous if you're walking on the road. We stayed for two (sleepless) nights before heading out to find someplace quieter. Mediocre AT&T hotspot coverage, clear sky for satellite reception. We camped at Lake El Reno RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Just bought a travel trailer and found this place not far from home. I have now had two separate, weekend stays there, and loved each visit. The new construction mentioned in a prior review seems to be barrack-style housing for oil workers. There was never any problem or disruption from it that I noticed. The restroom/shower facility is ... functional. I like that the building has three separate, lockable single restrooms with shower, each labeled as family restroom. The cleanliness leaves something to be desired, but it did have the required paper products and useable plumbing. Being a rookie at backing, I really appreciate the pull-throughs; lots of space and didn't feel cramped or overcrowded even with several other RVs. Although close to I-40, I was never bothered by road noise. I plan to return often just to decompress. We camped at Lake El Reno RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is a nice place with full hookups in the west end side of the RV park. In the evenings, young folks drive thru racing each other and throwing gravel. No patrol whatsoever by police or the non existent park ranger. BEWARE!!! At the southwest edge of the park they are putting in a bunch of double wide modular buildings that appear to be sleeping quarters or something similar. This has all the look of a future halfway house camp or some other similar problematic housing. Check with the city of El Reno before camping there as who knows what will be housed 200 yards from your campsite. The construction appears it will be done within a month or two. We stayed there May 18th 2017. We camped at Lake El Reno RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Great campground for an overnight stop along Route 66 (Or I-40). City owned Lake El Reno Park is a bargain. Full hook ups for $20, W/E for $15. Payment is on the honor system and there is no on site management. Bathhouse was adequate and about as clean as you'd expect with no onsite manager. Sites were gravel and fairly level. Pull thru with plenty of room for truck and trailer. Fairly quiet except for distant road noise from I-40. We camped at Lake El Reno RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Two loops. The first one is W/E, the second one is F/H. Also, there is a duplicate listing under "El Reno Lake Campground". It's the same place. Recommend RVParkreviews merge them.

This is a great City Park. There are no reservations, and the honor system of paying. We were in a pull-thru, FHU site. All utilities worked well. The sites are a little unlevel but not bad. There is a lake, golf course, ATV course, RC airstrip and picnic areas. It is about 3/4 mile from I-40 so there is some road noise, but otherwise a very quiet park. There are 3 camping areas, one with FHU, one with W/E, and also primitive camping. The prices are $20/$15/$5 respectively. We camped at Lake El Reno RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Yukon (just east of El Reno) is home of the Express Clydesdales. You can tour the ranch for free. Call to see if they are doing any shows. Beautiful horses!

Passing through Oklahoma to NM and stopped for the night in El Reno... Ended up being two nights as the city owned RV park was VERY nice! Great little lake, spacious pull-through, full hook up sites and not crowded at all. We didn't use the facilities but the building looked clean and well made (others were using them though).

Large fields around the lake when our two dogs ran like the dickens chasing the sun... We didn't check in, payment is on the honor system, fill out an envelope with receipt and deposit $$ in the lock box. There are two sides to the park, sites 1-20 were water & electric only, 21-50, water-elec-sewer. The sites are grassy-gravel, level with no picnic table or fire ring (people have gathered rocks, dug a hole and made their own. Trash cans at each site.

Really, really nice & quiet gem of an RV park. Will most definitely make a point to come back! We camped at Lake El Reno RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The city park is in a nice neighborhood, easy to find but the RV park is a bit difficult to get to. When coming into the park on Elm St., go straight towards the lake (don't take the first right) and follow the road.

The park has a golf course, restaurant, hiking & running trails, fishing.

My wife and I were travelling to Missouri and got tired driving so we looked for a place to stay. We saw the camping symbol on I-40 so followed the signs to Lake El Reno RV Park. We were delighted with the clean level gravel sites. We put a check for $15.00 in the envelope, the receipt on the windshield, and proceeded to take a walk by the lake. I was so impressed with the campsite that my wife and I decided to stay at the same campground on the way back from Missouri. We had a 30 foot class C with a toad and there was plenty of room at the site. We camped at Lake El Reno RV Park in a Motorhome.

Campground is on a lake. It would be nice if there were a few more signs giving directions to the campground, but after driving around the lake, we figured it out. Sites are large and level. There is water and electricity on the RV sites. Some also have sewer.

If you don't have a site with sewer, there is a dump station at the other end of the park. There is no mention of this in the campground, however. We asked one of the park employees and he told us where it was. You have to take the road (Elm St.) through the golf course until you get to Country Club. The dump station is on the left hand side. We camped at Lake El Reno RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I give this a 9 for the purpose that it served for me personally. We needed an overnight stop along I-40 and this was right off of the highway and cheap. There are 2 camping areas at El Reno Lake. This one is more for RVs and you get electric, water, and dump. The other area is more for tents and pop ups, but RVs can fit there, too. $15/night for elec only. We opted for the $20 full hookup. The lake is directly next to the park and it could be tough to get a site on a weekend. We came in on a Sunday night at dusk and there were plenty of sites. Since we were only on an overnight stay, it was perfect. This is a no-reservation, put your check in the box type place. We camped at Lake El Reno RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

It looks like you are going into a residential area as you are nearing the park entrance. It can be easy to miss the little sign upon entering the park as to where the campground section is. Plenty of gas and food at this exit of I-40, too.

This is a city run park with a very large lake. Spacious lots and lots of green spaces. Utilities worked fine. I think that the other campers were construction workers and if not for them, we would have had the place all to ourselves. This campground was on the honor system and you paid at a drop box close to the restrooms. We camped at Lake El Reno RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
