We stayed in the Cottonwood Campground which has full hookups but no lake view. Had the place all to ourselves at this time of the year. An older park but well maintained. Saw deer, squirrels and a porqupine in the campground. Not much else in the area but we are geocachers and there were plenty to keep us busy in the area. We also visited the Rt. 66 Museum in nearby Clinton where you must go for groceries or almost anything else. Lots of bison in the campground around the office area. Nice place overall. We camped at Foss State Park in a Motorhome.

What a great park not all that far off I-40. Had a waterside site with water and electric. Plenty of space between sites and lots of shade trees. Best part was the clear night with a full sky of visible stars. Quiet and peaceful. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Foss State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We met up with friends for a week's stay at Foss State Park. Beautiful, quiet, out of the way set on a lake. We were in the section with full hookups so we didn't have a view of the lake but just a short hike or drive away. We practically had the park to ourselves. We enjoyed fishing, swimming, bike riding, hiking, campfires & just being together.

On the Saturday of our stay, we had an issue with the electric on the pedestal. We saw one of the park staff, talked with him & he had someone at our site within what seemed like minutes! And all was fixed.

We did venture in to some of the local towns to museums, eat & for grocery run. You might want to make sure you have most of what you want as towns with groceries, etc. are not close by.

If you're there over a Saturday, make sure to go up to the office & watch the feeding of the buffalo. This is in the pasture behind the office. Wow! You can feel the vibration on the ground as they come running up for their Saturday treat.

Also, on the weekends, there's a restaurant that's open located on the marina in the park. Pleasant place, good food, great atmosphere & watch the boaters. We would definitely come back here again. It's just a few miles off the interstate, far enough away so you have peace & quiet. We camped at Foss State Park in a Motorhome.

We stopped for the night & stayed in the tent area. We had to have the ranger help us find the campground as there are a lot in that park. He was beyond helpful, friendly, and not only offered to help anyone--but did it willingly. You don't find many park managers that do what they say. The site was shady, on grass, and we had a nice peaceful evening there. There are buffalo at the park, which I saw when we arrived, and we didn't go to the beach area which is a mile or so away, but was told it is beautiful. They have one area of the beach for pets to swim with you, and a non-pet area. The bathrooms were clean, and showers are pay. We would definitely go there again. We camped at Foss State Park in a Tent.

We stayed in Cedar Point Campground RV area for three nights. The water and 50 Amp electric hookups were adequate. The parking surface was pretty level. There are trees for some shade. The lake views from our site are beautiful. Our DirecTV and Verizon coverage were great as were the local TV choices. There is an "iron ranger" to pay for your stay. We got the $2/night senior discount. This was our first stay at an Oklahoma State Park and were pleasantly surprised. We would stay here again. We camped at Foss State Park in a Motorhome.

Well maintained park. Concrete sites, W&E, on lake. Restrooms good hike from sites on water. They were clean but did not use. Bad storm coming in when we arrived. Most RV's left. We were only staying overnight. Stayed extra day due to weather. Ranger very nice accommodating us. Would stay again if in the area. We camped at Foss State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed at this state park several times. Each time we manage to pick just the perfect site without duplicating the previous site. We like to check out the other campground areas and see which one we like best. Sandy Beach has been one of our favorites but after staying at Cedar Point I think this is our favorite location! We stayed in #1 which was nice and quiet; away from the other campers; which we enjoy. Its close to the water and just a short walk to the bathrooms. You do have to pay to use the showers but they were always clean with lots of warm/hot water.

There are LOTS of places to walk, hike and ride your bike. Cottonwood Campground is fairly close by and you can ride your bike there. They have a nice playground for the kiddo's.

This is definitely out go to campground when we just want a few days away from the city!! We camped at Foss State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We have visited a lot of State parks and this is clearly on e of the best. Foss Lake is a man made lake and has 58 miles of coastline with depths ranging from 24 ft up to 70 ft. Great area for fishing and boating. Unlike many parks - this one can easily handle big rigs. The water pressure is good. Only downside is that only about 10 sites have sewer hook-up. Surprising, we got good Digital TV reception from Oklahoma City stations. It is easy to see why this place stays booked full during summer months. We camped at Foss State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Route 66 Museum in Elk City is definitely worth visiting. This is more than just a Rt 66 museum. It is actually 15 buildings depicting everything about Western Colorado history and its people.

We stayed in Cedar Point space #1 which had a fabulous lake view. The pad was concrete, level, and spacious. There were shade trees on either side, a picnic table, and fire pit which had wood already waiting for us. The grounds were well maintained and impeccably cared for. The restrooms were clean, but tons of creepy crawly things invade them after dark so shower early!

We would definitely return to Foss State Park on our next cross county trip if traveling down the I-40. We camped at Foss State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We only stayed here one night, but it was beautiful and peaceful. We were here mid-week in May, so it was virtually empty. Be sure to bring quarters with you, if you shower. We rarely stay in State Parks, so I forgot about paying for showers. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Foss State Park in a Motorhome.

We went for the full hook up sites which were on the opposite side of the park from the lake. Sites were level and were long enough for our camper and truck. The other sites were kind of close but we didn't spend much time there so it was okay.
If you want great views go for the lake side sites. They have hookups but no sewer.
Park itself was very nice and we would stay again. We camped at Foss State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cedar Point, which is in Foss State Park, is a beautiful campground right on the lake. We stayed here in site #1, which had a fabulous view, electric and water at the site, a nice level cement pad, a spacious grassy area, park bench and grill. There's a dump station on the way out, which we used.

The grounds are actually quite big and there are places for group picnics, a frisbee golf course, etc. A small marina is within walking distance and in the Summer a restaurant is open (we missed getting to try it out as it was already closed for the season).

It was a peaceful location. We'll return to this spot if passing through again. We camped at Foss State Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for one night, right before Labor Day weekend. The host was very accommodating and allowed us to have 3 tents in one site. Each site had power which was very convenient. The showers were clean as well as the area. There was also a disc golf course available, which came as a nice surprise so try that out. The lake looked nice but we did not go to it. The only negative would be that many sites do not have much shade. We camped at Foss State Park in a Tent.

We were coming in on a weekend, and the ranger suggested we go to the North part of the lake, as the Southern part campgrounds fill up faster. We found a number of available sites, with 50 amp, and even a view of the lake. There were concrete pads to park on and sites had to use the dumpstation when leaving. It was very quiet at night, despite many campers and RVs in the area. There are no nearby stores for shopping, other than a bait store or two. We enjoyed our stopover.
