We are traveling Route 66. This park was recommended by the Sallisaw Tourist Information Service. Very disappointed. Echo other reviews about roads.Worst entry roads I have traveled to get to any park. Called ahead, but recorded message said Park Attendant off Wed & Thurs, would call us back on Friday. We came anyway. There was a list of available sites and honor pay system. Problem was reserved cards were still on the posts from mid-July, making it very difficult to match up printed available sites to ones which appeared to be reserved. Most sites were very uneven. Second COE Park we have stayed at on this trip which seems unkempt. Less than ten other campers here. This COE is really off I-40, so you would really have to be looking for a place for the night in order to come here. We camped at Heyburn Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The last five miles driving to this remote COE park are on roads so bad we were surprised nothing fell off. Those with larger motorhomes be aware there is a 12 ton limit bridge on the W151st St access road. There is minimal signage to help you find the park. Perhaps they could replace the one used for shotgun practice. The park is tired and worn, sites are not level and the run down trailer with the vicious chained pit bull right in the middle of everything is more reminiscent of a junk yard than a campground. There are dead trees throughout the park and this place really needs maintenance. But this is a Corps park so there are water views and the price is right. The hookups worked fine and while there is no WiFi the Verizon signal is strong. Despite the bargain we would not stay here again. We camped at Heyburn Park in a Motorhome.

We like to take advantage of COE facilities because of the value, but this park had that "locals only" vibe. Stray pit bull mix confronted us one morning as we were walking our dogs (on leash). The maintenance man is apparently allowed to have a permanent campsite (attached wooden porch) and that site also had a pit bull chained outside with two plastic barrels as shelter. Although our site appeared level, we had to settle for a slight incline to the rear. We camped at Heyburn Park in a Motorhome.

Arrived to find very courteous and helpful gate attendant. Found a satisfactory pull through that our 39' would fit in. Different spots have shade and are more level than others. We did some leveling and we're fine. Had a broken belt in a truck tire and the attendant was very helpful even making a phone call for us! We got that fixed in Sepulpa but also shopped in Bristow. Both about 15 miles away. We had some noise from neighbors but they quieted down about 11pm. Good water and electricity. Dump station is easy to access. As mentioned elsewhere, do watch the one way spikes on the way out. I believe that the in gate is closed after 10pm. Older showers and bathrooms is a correct assessment. Toilet has just a shower curtain and that didn't work in the one bathroom. Watch for tree limbs! Also, the roads are rough. We came in from the west and there is a first gear Hill right off RT 66 but that proved to be the best route to RT 66. I would not follow the GPS as the road further east is really rough and lots of trees to get under. We camped at Heyburn Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Didn't like our first site so the host let us change. Lots not very level. Electric / water only. Dump station available. No wifi. Camp hosts very friendly. Brought wood and started a fire since my husband was handicapped but wanted a fire. We had trouble with our camper and they called a nearby rv repair dealer and he tried to help us over the phone. The camp hosts came later to check on us. We camped at Heyburn Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Just a one night stay over on our trek across the country. The gate person was extremely friendly and helpful. COE camp clean and well maintained. The bathrooms were old and tired but the water was hot and wet, so it felt great after a ten hour drive!

The dump station has easy access.

Would stay again if driving through. We camped at Heyburn Park in a Travel Trailer.

Remote campground that is very popular swimming hole for locals. Well maintained grounds, but restrooms are well worn that have been treated poorly in the past. They have added new sites to an already crowded campground. The exit lane at the gatehouse has tire shredders so be careful you don't go in the wrong way. Road from Rte. 66 in very poor condition so take S. 257th south of Kellyville, OK. We camped at Heyburn Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Kellyville is the closest town, but not much there. Sapulpa is a few miles farther, but has shopping and restaurants. Tulsa is not far away so mifi is good and we got a few OTA tv channels.

Beautiful park in a wooded site near lake. Bathrooms are dilapidated and old, but clean. Most sites are wildly unlevel in both directions. I had to move from the first site I was assigned to because it was so unlevel. No wifi, but the cell signal is strong. Customer service was superb once I got there, but no one answers the phone. We camped at Heyburn Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

The location is lovely. The sites are gravel, fairly level, and each has a lantern pole, grill and small table, and a nice concrete picnic table on a cement pad. In late September when we visited there was only a small church group and us here. Perhaps that is why some workmen decided to shut off the water supply to the campsites and the park facilities at 8:30 in the morning. They thought it would be off about an hour. We have a macerator; anyone needing water to dump would have been out of luck. The bathrooms were dirty, toilet paper clogging one bowl, spiderwebs in the corners and dead roaches and bugs on the floors. Nevertheless, at the $8 Federal senior rate, if you don't need or care about the bathrooms, this is a bargain and we would visit again. We camped at Heyburn Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The rate reflects the senior passport. The park was very clean. Unfortunately, one of the restrooms was disgusting. It was very small and dark, and the tile was falling off the walls in the shower. The bathouse was another story. It was large and clean. The campsites are large, but most would be difficult to get into with a large rig. There are several pull through sites that are accessible, and they have 50amp power. There is no wi-fi. Water is available at every site. The sites are all gravel with the picnic tables on a concrete slab. We only stayed here one night, and it was adequate for our needs. We camped at Heyburn Park in a Travel Trailer.
