Osage Hills is a very nice older camp that is close to local attractions such as Woolaroc, Tall Grass Prairie preserve and the Pioneer Woman Merchantile (the food was average, I would not wait in line for it). Sites are somewhat challenging to back into if trailer is over 26 feet. We just fit with a 29 foot trailer. Trailers over 30 feet should reserve site 1, 3, 6, 14, or 15. Hiking trails are nice and overall campground experience is great. Only negative is dump station is somewhat challenging to get to if parked in inner loop, must go around outer loop to access. We camped at Osage Hills State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Tall Grass Prairie preserve was our favorite place to visit. Stunning wide open expanse of natural grasses and hundreds of roaming bison. Road can be muddy after rain....vehicle will get dirty, but the views are worth it.

Lovely park! Very clean, nice cement pads for camper and truck, lots of shady trees. We stayed on site 15, perfect for our big 5th wheel! We stayed two days.Very quite too! May I add, big sites too. We would definitely stay here again! A few trees could be trimmed up too, a few low hanging branches on some sites. Nicest park that we stayed in while on vacation! We camped at Osage Hills State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit the Pioneer Woman Mercantile in town! Eat there too as there isn't any good places to eat in town! Buffalo Joe's is terrible, nasty place. There is a nice looking Mexican restaurant but we didn't eat there. We ate at the Mercantile and our camper. Not much else to do in town. Campground was great though!

Very nice park with excellent customer service. Interior roads were a little tight with some overhanging branches, but navigable. Spaces were level concrete. We camped at Osage Hills State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We spent most of our time in Pawhuska at the Pioneer Woman Mercantile shop. The food at the downstairs deli was excellent as well as the bakery upstairs. If dining at the deli be prepared for at least a 45 minute wait.

Overall Rating:

I stayed here 2 nights in site 6 while driving through in a 27 foot motorhome with tow car. This is an older and smaller CCC state park campground (the park itself is actually quite large). The roads are quite narrow as are the sites and it was a difficult and tight park to circle around in. I was originally in site 11 but it had a bend in the middle of it and trees right beside it and a gravel drop off that would have been right off my door so I opted to change to site 6 which is a long pull-through site. Many sites are quite short and there is a good bit of erosion going on so several sites had the gravel drop off problem and many would need leveling. It is a pretty campground with grass and trees and a stream bed through the middle of it. There is a lake but no swimming and the pool was closed but there is a creek with short falls for kids. There is a nice tent camp area up on a hill. There are trails -- the nicest of which was the creek loop. I found the reservation site difficult to work with and with the $8 reservation fee and the $40 per night charge the park was quite expensive. Staff and the ranger in charge were very nice -- ranger came by to chat and drove around the campground at night. Water and electric worked well -- water spigot was quite some distance away. Dump station convenient to use. Verizon - surprisingly -- worked fine. I didn't use the restrooms. Nightly rate didn't include $8 reservation fee. We camped at Osage Hills State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This was a nice quiet park. The Verizon and AT&T data was spotty, at best, same can be said for cell phone service (2-3 bars, off and on). The site was mostly level and a good solid concrete pad, no large broken pieces. The rangers were very accommodating to our need to arrive after the normal park hours. We were less than 45 minutes from Pawhuska proper and Bartlesville. The showers were adequate, clean enough, but did appear a bit run down. We did not take advantage of the pool, but heard that it was wonderful (and spring fed!) and cooling! Beautiful lake with available canoes. Several lookouts, but did notice ticks (which kept us from doing any hiking). Convenient dump station with great water pressure on the way out. Good paved roads throughout. We camped at Osage Hills State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Pioneer Woman Mercantile is nearby, but arrive well before you want to be seated for dining as there is a sizable line that forms. We were able to drive through The Drummond Ranch nearby. There is plenty of shopping and dining options in nearby Bartlesville. We needed an RV tire and got one the same day in town.

We stayed here 3 nights and stopped on our way out to tell the staff how much we appreciated the nicely maintained park, clean restrooms, hot showers, soap and paper towels, and clean RV sites. Great hiking trails, small lake for canoeing, fishing, and paddle boats. Swimming pool in summer, tennis, conference center, just a very nice small, QUIET (at least during the week) park. We really enjoyed it. We camped at Osage Hills State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Go see Wooleroc while in the area, museums in Bartlesville and if you like old fashioned chili, try Greeks in Pawhuska.

About 8 miles west of Bartlesville, the park is quiet, wooded with short oak trees. Paved loops and sites on rolling terrain. Bath houses adequate. Very pretty. Friendly rangers. The real attraction is the 10 miles or so away AAA well deserved Gem rated Woolaroc (wood-lake-rock) ranch, museum and wildlife preserve created by the founder of Phillips 66 petroleum. The two storied museum features extensive western Indian and pioneer artifacts, a Colts gun collection, and hanging from the ceiling the beautiful orange and dark blue Woolaroc monoplane that won the contest for the first flights from California to Hawaii after the Lindberg America to Paris flight. Lots of history there. Further to the west is the Tall Grass Prairie Preserve with freely roaming buffalo. The area is well worth seeing. I would stay at the park again. We camped at Osage Hills State Park in a Motorhome.

Nice campground and very well maintained. Use caution if you are are in a big rig or pulling a long 5th wheel. The roads are narrow with steep drop offs. 28' trailers and smaller work well and it is a nice family campground. We had trouble backing in our 5th wheel and had to be selective on sites. Great for day picnics and family reunions. Great hiking trails, take a snack lunch. We camped at Osage Hills State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful heavily wooded park. It has facilities for meetings, rental cabins, swimming pool (extra charge), shelters, hiking, fishing, etc. Each RV site has water, electric, fire ring and picnic table. There are two pull though sites and the others are back-in. Two bathhouses nearby and a playground for the kids. The cabins and shelters are built from natural sand colored stone and all have fireplaces. It is not uncommon to have deer, wild turkey, raccoons and other wildlife in the park. The sites are first come first serve with no reservations. We like the park a lot and visit more than one time per year. We camped at Osage Hills State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
