Stayed here while traveling through on I-40. Nice location, easy access. Friendly staff. FU, 50 amp with cable. Site was great for our motorcoach plus tow. Restrooms were very nice and very clean. Will stay here next time through. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Motorhome.

Excellent KOA. All sites shaded. Property is pristine. Friendly owners. Nice dog off leash area. Pool is super nice. Nice green spaces. Not a lot of grass in some of the individual campsites, some are quite grassy. Spacing and utilities are good. Great walking path in wooded area that we enjoyed a lot. Small fishing pond with canoes available. Nicely stocked office. Easy off I-40, .75 mile away, no noise at all. Good phone signal. Cable TV ok. Not a large KOA. Has a real homey feel. And the shower house is unbelievably gorgeous. HGTV-perfect. Check out pics on some of the other reviews. We would stay again. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Eastern Oklahoma is so pretty. Nearby is Sequoyah Wildlife Refuge and a large reservoir. Beautiful Ozark hills and trees. Wal-Mart close by. Charlie's Chicken and BBQ is a great place to eat. Fast food options too.

Easy access to I40. Wide roads and sites, both gravel surfaced. Interior roads are plenty wide and site was long enough for mh and towed. 8 foot grass area between sites. Cable and wifi worked well. The park is close to I40, but no noticeable road noise. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Motorhome.

A reliable place to stop when you're on your way to somewhere else. I stayed only one night and did not investigate the local area. I registered on the internet, so check-in was quick, efficient and professional. All the facilities were clean and neat. Less costly than many KOAs. I had water and electric but didn't use the sewer. Most sites are pull-through, with back-ins along the perimeter and a couple of tent sites. The pull-through sites will accommodate the biggest rigs. Plenty of shade. Clean restrooms and showers. No privacy from the neighbors. Convenient to Interstate 40. Dusty with a chemical smell when the farmer next door is tilling his field. I will stay here again, when in the area. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This is a travelers KOA. Our traveling practice is to stay two days when we stop. So, we have watched this campground fill and then empty. It is a very nice KOA, just not a destination. This is not a huge park, I would call for availability.
Check-in was easy and friendly with the owners in a really well stocked camp store. There were souvenirs, as well as lots of basic RV supplies. The grocery selection was the basics, but still fresh and attractive. I was able to buy milk which is always my litmus test of a good camp store.
The sites were very neat and clean with well placed utilities. There was a picnic table and shade at the sites, neighbors were close but not imposing.
Cable was 65 clear channels with no hassle. Wi-Fi bogged down sometimes but over all was good.
The roads and sites are gravel, but all around is lush grass. The trees and lawns are verdant and surround the children's playground and a clean and well maintained pool. There are lots of benches, tables and chairs in the green space. There is even a small catch 'n release pond just for kid's fun.
A "Nature Trail" has been cut into a bordering woods that offered extensive walks because it was cut as a labyrinth with paths going in every direction. "Weren't we just here?"
The laundry looked very nice, clean and well equipped.
The real "knockout" were the bathrooms. They are outstanding, or maybe that is astounding. They look brand new and are done in stone tiles and marble, with designer fixtures. The lighting, mirrors, and basin shine. It goes without saying that bathroom and showers were also meticulously clean. These are really pleasant and comfortable bathrooms.
We are headed West and doubled back twenty miles for this campground.
It was a worthwhile detour. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Motorhome.

This was an overnight stop for us on our way West. Fuel was available at the campground exit 84. This was a very nice KOA. Our pull through site was level and shaded. The staff was excellent.
We would definitely stop here again. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Travel Trailer.

3rd week of September and the temperature and humidity combined for a heat index of 108° @ 2pm. The park has lots of trees and easy access pull through sites. I was looking forward to getting power, water and sewer connected and the AC going. Did that. Then... My criteria on whether the Wi-Fi is good or bad is simple - does Google maps load 'reasonably' fast? Nope. Not here. Definitely creepy-crawly slow. Not quite unusable, but do plan on having your patience tried as you wait. Oh well, the facilities are nice and it's just an overnight stop for me, I'll survive. But to be fair, there were a fair number of rigs in the park and not many folks were out in the heat and humidity so maybe they were watching YouTube videos? Later in the evening the response seems to improve and I was able to plan the next day's travel. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is just off I-40 and fairly easy to get to. The owners are very friendly. The town is small with just a Walmart and lots of fast food restaurants. The sites are shady, long and level, but some of the sites have very little grass, so if it rains you could be in the mud. The sites are close together. Nice pool and playground, I wasn't crazy about the dog park and no potty bags. Some historical sites, but that was all. No Auldi or CrackerBarrel anywhere close. Would stay here again, but only for a few nights. The water was good so we filled our tank. We camped in a 38ft Motorhome with tow. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Motorhome.

Great park, very nice bathrooms. Park offers 65 cable channels, good Wi-Fi.

The owners have put some effort in updating. The pool has neat feature: they put a canopy over it, blocking some the sun beating down, making much more enjoyable. Has things for kids. I would recommend this park! We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This is an immaculate facility and campground. Sites were level, but neighbor are fairly close. Best feature was how quiet it was even being within 3/4 mile of I-40. All sites are gravel and easy to get in and out of. Wide entry and adequate driveways for 43 bus and tow vehicle. The grounds are very well maintained. Lots of shade. Very nice pool area. Staff was friendly and efficient. Did not try the wifi. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Motorhome.

The owners are creating a KOA location that is noticeably better than the average KOA. They have given special attention to owners of big RV's and 5th wheelers to provide sites that are large and comfortable. Good water pressure and WiFi. Cable TV was OK - but not the best picture. This is one of the few full service RV parks on that section of I-40. Everything at the park is clean and well organized. The office staff is very helpful and friendly. All the sites have some trees and shade, necessary in the Oklahoma summers. If satellites do not connect, cable is available. The WiFi is slow when the park is full. I would recommend this RV park to others and stay there again. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Motorhome.
