Office personnel was friendly and knew the area. Gave us a lot of great ideas for things to see. This is a family oriented park. Very quick and easy check in process and the hookup went quickly without any issues. The roads in the park were gravel. Site was gravel and dirt. Had a lot of rain during our visit and had lots of mud around unit. Mostly level. Many big beautiful trees but was still satellite friendly. Had cable TV but we didn't use it. Picked up 15 OTA channels. Wi-Fi was fair most of the time. Verizon worked well. Nice dog park. Nice playground that was well taken care of. lots of equipment. Basketball and volleyball courts. Showers and Rest rooms were neat and clean. Laundry room was neat and clean. Washer $1.75. Dryer $1.25. Picnic table needed some repair. Fire ring. Pool was closed for the season. Will definitely stay here again. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Motorhome.

The park is about 25 miles from Fort Smith which was our destination, but due to this park having the best review we chose to stay here and drive to the places we wanted to visit. The park is desperately in need of some new gravel in the entrance, roads and pads for RV's. The cable for us was poor reception and our antenna could not pick-up any stations that interested us. We used their Wi-Fi extensively because of the poor reception for TV. We used the laundry facilities and found them to be clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and very helpful trying to get our cable TV to work properly. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Motorhome.

The folks who run this park are among the nicest we have ever encountered. One of them even helped me install new wiper blades on our pusher (a job I am really bad at doing). This park has something I've never seen before. When we checked in (late afternoon) the park was almost empty. After dinnertime, it was almost full. By the time we go out of bed in the morning, almost every coach and trailer was gone. Every day we were there it was the same thing. I guess they have a lot of one-nighters. Our site was nice and level with lots of room for our friend's car in front and our towed in back (plus our 37 ft. MH). Utilities were all fine. Cable was good. WiFi was adequate. Most sites were at least partially shaded, a big plus. While the price might have been a bit high for the overall quality of the park, we would absolutely camp here again. The only real complaint I might have is the area's general air quality. There was some kind of chemical smell in the air that reminded me of Bakersfield, CA, where you can almost slice the air with a knife. This in no way is the parks fault; just an observation. Daily trash pick-up was a nice touch. You can also order pizza, wings, and a few other items from the office. Fort Smith, AR, is a short drive east, and there are a LOT of interesting historic sites to visit. I even earned a clean bill of health at Miss Laura's, a famous brothel ! KOA discount for an overnight stay. Site was level, dirt surface, and pull-thru with FHU and 50 amp electric. Most sites and interior roads were muddy. We had good Verizon voice and data reception. Easy access from Interstate 40. Friendly and efficient reception at the office. We would stay here again. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Motorhome.

Nice, quiet park for an overnight stop. They also serve pizza, etc. for dinner. Check in was easy, staff was friendly. All utilities worked well. We wanted a satellite site and, although there were trees all around, we had a good strong signal. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Motorhome.

This a great camp ground with lots of stuff for families. It is very kid friendly. Owners are very involved with park and will stop and visit with you even when busy. They have put more things in the park since last visit including a new hot tub area. Very friendly staff and, if there are any problems with your stay, the owners want to know so that they can address them. This was our third trip there and will return again. Overnight stay on our way west. We arrived after dark due to a delay with a tire blowout. We were met by one of the staff who was working late in the office that night. She directed us to our site, and also provided directions to a local store to replace our spare tire the following morning. This was a very pleasant overnight stay at a well-maintained campground. The location is far enough off that interstate that there was no traffic noise. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Overnight stay. Easy access for 44' coach from the interstate. The staff that checked us in was friendly and helpful. The sites were very close, but it was too hot to sit outside. The pool looked inviting, but there were also many kids in it so we didn't try it out. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Motorhome.

Overnight stop, so we didn't use the bath house, laundry or pool, but all looked nice and well maintained. The pool and volleyball court were both busy the entire visit, so definitely a hit with families. Decent water pressure, small but adequate dog park. walking trail area was nice. We were not able to put out of awning because of a tree, but other than that, the site was level and hookups were easy. We did hear a train whistle several times throughout the night, but no traffic noise. Would stay here again when driving through. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Had a decent pull thru site for MH and tow vehicle with full hookup and plenty of trees. The dog park was nice and clean. The only problem we had was someone came in with an old Airstream motorhome late that night and for some reason ran his generator all night long even though he could have hooked up. We called and left a message about it, but when we had woke up early the next morning he was gone. Thought the whole thing was totally strange. Other then that issue is wasn't a bad place to stop for the night. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Motorhome.

Wow, that IS strange. We have our phone with us 24/7 and do not recall getting a phone call about that; I'm so sorry we missed it. We don't allow generators in the park and the only time we ever would have a request for it is when someone's air is working, or something similar. In that case, we have a site back by our house that we could have them stay in so the generator cannot be heard. Again, my husband and I don't recall this situation at all. We definitely appreciate you trying to get a hold of us. We do try to address issues immediately and never get upset, even if it is in the middle of the night. Hope we can serve you again!

KOA rate including tax. One of the best assets to this park is the involvement of the owners who live on site. We were through here a couple of years ago, and they have made a lot of improvements since then. Pool has been reworked along with the restrooms. They also put in several fully equipped "tiny houses" in addition to the KOA kamping kabins. Most sites are shaded, level and have good gravel. All hookups are good; and cable is being upgraded. Propane is easily available if needed.Really no complaints. Its a wonderful stop off I-40. We look forward to a good nights rest here whenever we drive through. Dear billydw,
Thanks for staying with us! We appreciate your feedback. I'm sorry you couldn't pull your awning out, we don't have that problem generally so wondering if you were a little too far over on your site. Also, I noticed you only gave us a 3 on cleanliness and our campground is generally spotless, we get great reviews because of that. Wondered if something in particular was a problem? We really want to provide a clean, friendly, comfortable space for you that is easy to get in and out.

We'll just call this the "Mirror Universe KOA", since seemingly everything was backwards.. Propane service - wrong side; Dump station - wrong side; Water & electric at our site - wrong side. Typical for today's KOA - central area is the "rack'em and stack'em" big rig space, ringed by smaller back-in spots for us redheaded stepchildren in smaller B/C's and tents. As mentioned, our spots electric and water were on the wrong side. The spot was also just barely long enough for our 22' Class C. Backed right up to some kind of truck depot, but luckily it was a holiday weekend and they were shut down. On either side of us was a family with a vicious dog that barked at any movement on our site, and the other side a fussy newborn baby. The dog was left tied up outside all night, and the fussy baby camper left in the middle of the night. We enjoyed the dog run, and the "nature trails" area out the back pretty good. Didn't use their facilities at all so can't speak to that. Everything seemed well-kept from the outside. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Motorhome.

Thanks for staying with us & for your feedback. I'm sorry your experience wasn't as expected. I sincerely apologize your utilities were on the wrong side. It's our only site like that, used only when we are busy, & our new employee forgot to explain the set up. We have instructed all employees, again. Because you requested a less expensive back-in site, those are on the perimeter and we definitely don't view you as the stepchild. In fact, those sites are customer favorites of rigs <25'. Like most KOAs, we do accommodate the very large rigs well because the set up is easy in, easy out. We did have a dog in the site next to you that had a deep bark but was quite docile. We tell every camper at check-in to let us know if there are ANY problems, even at 2am, b/c we live on site. I encourage you, in the future, to let the owners know right away because we want to address issues immediately. I'm glad you enjoyed our trails & dog run!

We had a last minute change in travel plans and called on the Friday of a Holiday Weekend. We were treated to a brand new spot, escorted after normal hours and enjoyed one of the best experiences we have ever had. We had a HUGE deck with umbrella, chairs and fire pit. Staff was very friendly and the bathrooms were beautiful! We will definitely go back next time we travel that direction! We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
