Our second off-season stay at Sportsman Lake Park. We had a whole campground loop to ourselves so it was very quiet at night. But this time the water was off due to the cold, so we used up the small amount of water in our fresh water tank and dumped at the RV dump. Therefore we were only charged the very low W/E rate. The park is quite a distance from I-40, but we generally use US 270 when heading to or returning from Mena, AR anyway. - fanrgs

Stayed for two nights in cove 3 sites 4-7. Stayed in a site with full hookups with sewer so we didn't need the bathhouse which was a good thing, the toilets were stopped up and dirty. The sites were very shady and roomy. Each site has a grill and fire pit. The ranger was very nice and helpful. There was a nice playground for the kiddos. The lake was very nice. A no wake lake. Great for kayaking as there were many necks to explore. Lots of geocaches too. There is a swimming beach and two boat docks in the cove. - Fonda

It was an ok overnight stay in a campground owned by an adjacent restaurant. You picked your own site and let them know. The bathrooms were bad. The doors didn't even lock. - Florida Bob

I rated this excellent as it is the best value and clean safe park I have been in on this trip. The restaurant is an incredible value with good home cooking. Campground is full hook ups, antenna tv great, perfect location for an overnight stay. Came from a horrible camp ground full of unfriendly full time residents. I read about full time residents and cringed. Yes I am sure they are here. No clue who is full time and who isn't. That is how well run this park is. Big field out back. Quiet. Certainly is a gem! Concrete pads. Pull thru. - Ali22

Checked in at restraint without picking site first and was asked what site I was in by three different individuals. Only charged $20.00. Several open sites scattered among long term residents that were tidy and quiet. Level concrete pad just long enough for 5W and truck without unhooking. FHU with hookups located near middle of site. Wifi was better than many RV parks that we have stayed in at twice the price. Would stay here again. Pull in and setup in a vacant spot and check in at restraint. If restraint closed they have a drop box to pay. Some road noise. - campingdog
Nov 2018 - $20.00
A convenient place to spend the night, just off the highway. Staff checking us in seemed sidetracked. Gravel site was level side to side, but not front to back. Diner had decent food at fair prices. WiFi did not work. Good over the air tv. Downside, this was the noisiest place we have ever stayed, nearly impossible to sleep. - laughing.crone
Jun 2018 - $28.00
This park is perfect for an overnighter on our way home. Opted for the concrete site. Very level and easy to get into. You check in at the Convenience Store. Had dinner at the Roadhouse Diner. Pretty good food. They need to fill in the gravel near sites 9 & 8 near the park exit. - Possumvalleybrndr

Pulled in here in rain storm to fill up. Decided to call it a day and use the RV park. Even in the worse conditions this place is a gem. Gravel pull thrus $20 FHU, WiFi, store, fuel, restaurant. Very friendly staff in travel center. Easy off, easy back on to I-40. Has laundry on site and some cabins to rent. You can't beat this place. If you don't like gravel there also is very nice concrete sites for $30. - tbax46
