Great park. Very clean and friendly. Our site was a large level pull-thru with nice shade. Lots for kids to do and close to the wineries of Prince Edward County. Great July 1st Fireworks. We camped at Brighton / 401 KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Playgrounds! Dog Park! Food Stand! Decks at many sites! Lots of Trees! Nice Staff! Many other activities! This campground has it all, except sewer hook-ups. The playgrounds are huge (two of them) with a Big Bouncer and a Baby Bouncer, plus beach volleyball area, and they have all sorts of trikes for the little ones. The dog park was bigger than any RV park I've been to, so far. The lots are real spacious. They have a little store and a laundromat and a food stand on the weekends. The only drawbacks were the price and the dusty gravel entrance road. This is a really nice park on a hillside and very convenient to the highway. We camped at Brighton / 401 KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You can just stay at the campground and enjoy the playgrounds with the kids, get food at the food trailer, play disc golf, shop at the little store, swim, play on the huge chess board, take the dog to the dog park, and relax in the shade.

Nice park. Friendly and hospitable people. Several things available (swimming pool, barbecue, picnic tables, fire ring, laundry room). Suggestions: Make the bathrooms slightly more friendly for kids from 90 to 120 cm in length. Replace the computer games by more active games for kids. We camped at Brighton / 401 KOA in a Tent.

Tips for other Campers:

Limited shopping options closeby, but Belleville is a nice place with a farmers market (twice a week if I'm correct) and nice bakeries to have coffee and breakfast/lunch. Belleville has a supermarket in town and some more next to the highway (401).

Overall Rating:

This was our first stay at this park. The park was clean and well maintained. There were good amenities for children (though we didn't have any with us). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Wifi was very slow. Many of the sites, including ours, had uneven ground where the patios should be - although the base for the RV was level. Both my wife and I tripped on a hole on our site.

Our site had PM shade. Some sites have more shade than others. If you're going to be here during a hot spell, you may want to ask for one with shade. Also, the sites on the A row are longer: enough for a big rig and tow vehicle disconnected. B row is a bit shorter.

Overall, I gave value a mid rating as I think KOAs are overpriced for what you get. I would stay here again. We camped at Brighton / 401 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean and friendly park. Easy access to highway and convenient for the RV traveler. Excellent dog park and walking trails. Level full hookup sites with WiFi at many of them. Internet station available 24hrs for others. Pool was empty but being September that was expected. They were sandblasting the pool in preparation for paint - should be magnificent next year. Hot Tub was available even during pool renovations. Many improvements to this park in the past few years and more to come according to the staff. We (and our 2 dogs) thoroughly enjoyed our extended stay and plan to return. We camped at Brighton / 401 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We too where camping at Brighton for the soccer weekend referred to in the last posting. I think that mom should recheck her facts. I was in the play area when her son starting abusing/kicking the chess pieces around and then throwing the checker pieces into the wooded area. The owner asked him to stop, his friends where watching not participating with him. When asked why he was destroying the game he didn't answer, he was then asked to leave the area for that day. I would have banned him forever! My question. Did the parents offer to pay for the damages he caused? or just complain? Our kids where in the soccer tournament for the last 2 years and have camped at Brighton KOA both times and plan to again next year. It is a great park and I am glad they take the time to stop other peoples children from destroying what they have to offer. And are you serious about complaint about Free Dog Treats that the store hands out? Buy your own if this is such a problem for your daughter. We camped at Brighton / 401 KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is your basic campground, good for a short stay. Clean a couple planned activities, pool and decent sites. We however will not stay here again. They are friendly enough with adults but do not relate well with kids. My son was silly at the park and played a little rough with chess set. He did not get a warning but his understanding kicked out forever and he was in tears. We support them talking to him but they were a little harsh for a first ever offense. They were also rude to my daughter at the store when she went to take one dog bone for our dog. She was told they had to give the dog the bone, they snapped at her and she refused to go back to the store. When I mentioned in my review that they could have handled things a little more age appropriate they started expanding adding untruths. I was ready to admit my sons fault and consequence appropriately but he is just at the age he sometimes earns some freedom and their treatment of the situation was overboard. We camped at Brighton / 401 KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Friendly check-in to a well maintained campground. Site was level and extra long. Good services and clean laundry room. Close to highway, but highway noise from 401 was not disturbing due to elevated position. Good for a stop over and a longer stay. Stayed here before and will stay again when in area. We camped at Brighton / 401 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
