13 Parks near Goulais River, Ontario
Jun 2016 - $40.00
This RV park is primarily for seasonal campers, but they have 26 overnight sites and has the most pleasant host/owner. Most sites have a sand surface! The only other RV park that I have camped at that had a sandy site was in Florida. The downside is the dust created by the ATVer's. There is an indoor pool and WiFi is terribly slow. Laundry wash = $2.75, $0.50/5 min dryer. Bottom line - good for an overnight. - driftdiver1
Aug 2015 - $27.00
We were here during their summer Halloween party and the children were having so much fun. We were told that it would be a very busy evening but it was quiet before 10 PM. We enjoyed walking on the trails and picking blueberries and blackberries. Our site (#34) was very large and well shaded by mature pine trees. We had no trouble leveling. The bathrooms were very clean and the pool looked nice. We had 30 AMP and water. It was an easy drive into the site and there was only one small pine branch that was a little low. We would camp here again. - Summer Minnesotan
Jul 2015 - $29.00
Friendly staff. Clean campground. Nice pool. Reasonably good WiFi. Contrary to this listing they don't have 50 amp. Only a few sites are available for overnight visitors. Easy to find and park. - sfrantz
Sep 2016 - $28.00
Nice park right on the water. Great views of boats/ships going to and from Soo Locks. 30 amp only. It was a strong 30 amp. Walking areas nearby for dogs to run. - MizB450
Aug 2016 - $32.00
A beautiful spot to stay. We were right on the canal and could sit and watch the big ships approach the locks into Lake Superior. - W Davidson
Jul 2016 - $30.00
A cute little campground with a lovely view of the Saint Mary's River. Our site was spacious for a pop up camper but we did notice the bigger RV sites were very close together.
Staff are exceptionally friendly. Complimentary coffee is made in the office each morning.
Bathrooms are well maintained and cleaned, great water pressure too. Bathrooms are air conditioned so you don't feel wet after you shower. The locks are within walking distance if you like to walk (about 1.5 miles from campground)
Will definitely come back to this little gem in the northern UP. - M_P_RIPLEY
Aug 2016 - $30.00
Everyone has pretty much stated all the facts. The biggest issue is lack of sewer hookup. We were only here for 3 nights, so not much of a problem.
Otherwise, you have to use a "honey wagon" or call an off site vendor.
The canal and ships are the real draw. - DJanis
Aug 2016 - $32.00
Nice city ran park, friendly staff, good WiFi, 5 over air TV stations. Lots to do nearby. Paved roads and close to tour the locks boats, $27.00 adult prices. Big ships sail right past you up and down the St. Mary's river. - 1972 camaro
Aug 2016 - $40.00
Nice view of freighters. Park says it has wifi but it's pretty much junk!
Lots were spacious, comprised of gravel and grass. Sunny open exposure. Site has a fire ring and picnic table. - sfedder935
Aug 2015 - $15.00
This is place to dry camp with power. we were scheduled to leave today going to our next stop but decided we wanted to stay another night to take the Soo Locks Dinner cruise. We came here and found the place to be nice for what it is. Sites vary in size but you can get in and out with a big rig, no problem. Road is gravel, Sites are grass and level. Great Verizon 4G and open for satellites. You can use the hotel pool and workout room as well as restaurants and shows. Good place to stay of ra night or two. Cost can be dependent on your activities in the Casino! - Pjoe
May 2015 - $15.00
Electric on site, water at the bathroom building. Dump site is at the back of the casino parking lot. One huge issue, at the dump site there are two hoses present neither of which is potable water but there is NO sign stating that. Only potable water is at the bathhouse. We mentioned it to the cashier at the front desk when we registered and said that he would bring it to the attention of the manager. I doubt that anything will be done about it. Since it is a tribal casino I don't think that local health department can do anything about it. - Rick & Karen
Aug 2014 - $10.00
Great overnight stop for us to resupply the RV and fuel up before heading into Canada. Clean, well maintained campground with access to the casino facilities included. Very nice staff. Restrooms and showers were very clean and well maintained. Would definitely return passing through the area. Electric only available at each site. - Bob & Stephanie
Jul 2007 - $1.00
This park has closed. The land is reportedly being developed as the new site of a WalMart SuperCenter. - peakcomm
Sep 2005 - $23.00
A nice campground for a home base to see the area. Owners are very nice. They also provide a pet walking service, too. Had a nice time there. Should note that they are in the process of trying to sell the campground, and if they do, the above statements, might not apply. - Armenian
Aug 2016 - $49.00
Friendly people at check in and they escort you to your site. A bit pricey for water/electric only. Nice pet area. RV wash area and weigh scale. - 69636
Aug 2016 - $40.00
I'm submitting a review even before I leave, this place is clean, well run and well maintained. The staff are knowledgeable and eager to help, this must be the reason why this place won park of the year for 2015. I would recommend this place to anyone they can accommodate larger rigs, they took us in on a very short notice. They will escort you to your site and asked if they could help us in any way. - birdbrains
Aug 2016 - $51.00
This is a nice campground, and appears to be very family-friendly. It is quite busy now- expect that this is peak season. The price is consistent with KOAs (high) - but there are few options in this area for big rigs.
The proximity to the TransCanada highway is good, and the interior roads are tight, but manageable for a big rig.
Our site is long enough, level enough, and has 50 amp electric and full hookups. There is cable TV and wifi.
Our only problem here is that the campground is heavily treed, and the satellite does not work. The staff are quick to point out that they make no guarantees about satellite access.
I might have shortened my stay as a result, but unfortunately, when I reserved in advance I consented to pay the full amount for the entire stay. My fault, for not inquiring more closely as to the policy concerning reservations. - MerBee
Aug 2016 - $46.00
Beautiful place on the river. A lot of traffic from the permanent residence. Sandy, uneven lot. New area for transients. W/E were on the end shared with 2-4 other lots which stretched us to the max. The entrance road is terrible and the wifi is spotty. Ants everywhere. - Coy R
Jul 2016 - $36.00
Beautiful. view, but major electric issues that management is aware of? 30 amp that is a laugh. When and if it worked. In a day maybe 2 hours. And don't run your a/c, if you're not in your unit. They completely disapprove of this. Their stance on the matter, if you don't like it, pack your stuff and get out? Is that any way to run a business? No refunds just too bad, we'll keep your money. Will never go back there, even if the views are nice. If you value your equipment you will not stay there. - nocoastltd
Jul 2015 - $35.00
We were supposed to be in a pull-through but no way with a huge hump in the middle of the site and a picnic table and fire ring in the way. We had to back in way over from all horrible utilities. Power post had four 30-amp connections. Because of 4 units plugged into the same post voltage was low, causing our monitor to cut the power to our unit on and off constantly. Grassy, sandy site, hard to find sites, not labeled well. No help from front office. Outhouses throughout park poorly maintained. Would not stay here again. We camped in a 29 foot Class C with a toad. If you come, bring plenty of electric extension cords and extra water hose. - beachbum1pa
Aug 2013 - $36.00
The RV sites are very close together and the hookups are in between 4 sites, so you might have to turn your RV around to have the connections be on the right side. There is no cable TV and the antenna only got 1 channel. The night we got there, the Wi-Fi was not working, but it was working by the next morning. The restrooms are clean, but need maintenance. The shower curtain is short, so the water goes out to the dressing area, getting floor and shoes wet. Makes it difficult to get dressed. The laundry facilities are up by the office, too far to walk several times with a load of laundry. I would not camp here again. - Capt.Deb
Jul 2013 - $50.00
Easy pull through campsites. There was a torrential downpour when we arrived, and some sites were flooded. We asked to move and were accommodated by very helpful staff. Washrooms were clean. - Bruce1957
Jul 2013 - $46.00
Nice, nearly empty park convenient to Sault Ste Marie, ON. Sites were assigned and nearly all campers were bunched together back to back in the "no trees" area. Would be much more pleasant if campers could pick their own sites and spread out more. Pretty pricey for campground. Pool available, but weather was not good. - bambilynn
Aug 2015 - $45.00
No potable water, the utility post was a couple of 120 volt outlets with a bucket over the top to keep them dry. Small sites. From the website we expected a view of the river somewhere in the campground but there wasn't any (we were told you had to walk thru the woods and follow the fence to the park down the way to get to the river. We cancelled our stay and went down to road to another campground (we have stayed is some iffy places before and never walked away but didn't want to risk our unit to their electrical hookup). Nice people in the office-they didn't give us any problem with a refund. - kld
Aug 2015 - $1.00
This park is opening all sites to seasonal. Grab your site now. The managers are very helpful and keep a close eye on things. They have decided for next year that all sites, including beach front will be open to seasonal campers. - normsoo
Aug 2008 - $31.00
Far from town on a quiet point on the lake. Friendly and helpful staff, small and limited camp store. Good park for a quiet weekend, or drive into town for restaurants, shops and the casino. Fun activities for the whole family. - Makanamommy
Jun 2006 - $20.00
Some nice lake front sites, nice view. Sites are generally quite rustic but large. Overall campground is very casual. We would probably stay here again. - wandrr
