Check-in was fast as we had reservations (we kickoff our camping season here every year). A few seasonals but sites and trailers are well maintained. Campground is nice and well maintained, playground could use a bit of TLC. Location is awesome (right by the St. Lawrence Seaway). Sites are HUGE. Organized activities on weekends for children. There is no WiFi in the park, but there is some by/in the main office. Cell coverage is spotty in the campground. Dump station located in the campground. Another one is located about a kilometer outside campground, and can be used by anyone. Gets busy at checkout time. We camped at Long Sault Parkway - McLaren Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

You get 2 vouchers for admission at other St. Lawrence Parks Commission locations upon checking in. For beer amateurs, Rurban Brewery in Cornwall has an amazing choice of family-locally-brewed beer. You can sample before buying. Cornwall has 3 splash pads anyone can use - free of charge. The one in Lamoureux Park gets VERY crowded.

Check-in was fast. Campground is nice, playground well maintained, a few seasonals but sites and trailers are well maintained. Location is awesome. Sites are HUGE. Organised activities on weekends for children. We came here every year to kickoff our camping season. Wi-i works well by the main office. So-so elsewhere. Tips for other Campers:

Upper Canada Village is roughly 10 minutes from here. Nice bike path right at the exit of the campground. It rained like crazy for the 10 days we were there so the roads were awful. Potholes all over.

Check-in was fast. Young lady at check-in didn't provide directions to our site, as we booked online... They assumed that since we booked on-line, we know where the site is and hoe to get to it. Finally got to our back-in site, and site is the wrong way. Fire ring, picnic table (not there) were on the driver's side of the lot when backing in, which meant we would've had to go around the trailer to get to the fire ring and picnic table. Went back to the main office, and they clearly had no idea what I was talking about. I asked if I could then "pull-in" and drive on the grass, and was told, "it's ok, if no one sees you..." Went back to the site, pulled in, hooked up water and electric, only to remember we had no picnic table on our site. Back to main office, asked to get a picnic table, was told within 15 minutes. 3 hours later, still no picnic table. Went back to the office, told them, again... Within 10 minutes someone arrived with our table. I guess they dug it up from under the main office since it was EXTREMELY dirty... mud, spiders, spider webs, all kinds of critters and critters nest, and to top it all, was asked by the young lady delivering it, if I could get it out of the truck, since it's too heavy for her...

The campground itself is good, nice playground, a few seasonals but sites and trailers are well maintained. Location is awesome. Sites are HUGE, and I mean HUGE.

Campground is run by the Province, and staff could use a bit of client service course. They're not rude, they're obviously not RVer's, and therefore have no clue how to deliver good service. We camped at Long Sault Parkway - McLaren Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

When checking in, you get 2 complimentary admissions to either Upper Canada Village (just a few kilometers away) or to Fort Henry in Kingston. Town of Cornwall is very close by and has all amenities/services.

When there, visit the Lost Villages Museum for a history of the building of the St. Lawrence Seaway.

Dump station in campground can get crowded at check-out. Turn right when exiting campground, there is another free dump station a few hundred meters out.

There is an impressive view on the St.Lawrence River. There are great sites, with a small beach. When we camped, a lot of Giant Hogweed, a poisonous plant, was present on many sites, with caution signs. The sap from hogweed can cause blisters, burns, scarring and, in some cases, permanent blindness. The plant itself can grow to a dominating six metres. This apart, great place to stay! We camped at Long Sault Parkway - McLaren Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Part of the St Lawrence Park Commission. There are two other campgrounds on the Long Sault Parkway. The eastern part of McLaren now has a crushed stone base for your RV, the western part is still on grass. Showers and dump station are a quarter mile east of the campground on the next island. Close to Upper Canada museum village, Upper Canada golf club and marina and the Battle of Crysler Farm National Historic site. 50 km of bike trails, beaches and family entertainment on summer weekends. Because of the large population of Canada geese beaches are occasionally closed because of a high bacteria count. We camped at Long Sault Parkway - McLaren Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Part of the St. Lawrence Parks off the Long Sault Parkway (a series of islands on the Canada side of St. Lawrence). Must get permit at East Gate. Some sites not very level. Picnic table and fire ring. Small beach was posted when we were there due to rain and geese. Dump station sign said NO chemicals so we just dumped our grey water tank. Wish we had known about that when we got there. Has area to launch a small boat. Sites on the water have no hook-ups. Fills up on weekends. We camped at Long Sault Parkway - McLaren Campground in a Motorhome.
