This is a very nice park. Our site was not level, but in any case, we had to park our trailer off the pad and in the grass for the electric cord PLUS an extension cord to reach the outlet situated on the road between our site & the next. It was very difficult to manoeuvre the trailer there. The park office was closed; so we couldn't rent an additional extension cord. (Not parking on the designated pad is a $30 offense, but, fortunately, no one was checking.) Some sites have the electric outlet placed more reasonably. Apart from the electrical issue, our site was lovely. (So I'm not sure how to rate it.) Water was not available on-site and the taps located here and there have no threads; so we couldn't attach a hose to get water into our holding tank. We eventually discovered that potable water is available from a hose at the sewage dump site. We only stayed one night; had the weather been better we would have stayed longer. We camped at Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

September 8, Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park, Kakabeka Falls, Ontario, Canada , 169 sites, site E32, $41, bathhouse with showers, dump station, hiking trails, Kakabeka Falls boardwalks and views, This Provincial Park has three campgrounds located here right off HWY 17 &11 in Kakabeka Falls near Thunder Bay, You drive into the park to check in and to visit the day area where there are two big parking lots to view the falls. Riverside Campground and Fern's Edge Campground are unserviced but closer to the falls. Whispering Hills Campground sites have electric and a bathhouse with showers (new). There are some pull-through sites but most are backin. We stayed in the Whispering Hills Campground and enjoyed it. The roads are narrow and a little confusing. There is a dump station here and water fill. The Falls are stunning and a must see walking on the boardwalks on both sides. There are stairs but a very easy walk. Great stop! We camped at Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Nice park at the top of the hill with mostly level, gravel-lined sites. Rangers were very helpful and loan out extension cords (with a deposit). Electrical panels in Canada can be nearly 100' from your RV. Sites here were better geared for large fifth wheel trailers than many in Ontario. Trees were trimmed more for our height and width. Nice walking paths that are used for skiers in winter. Falls are beautiful with a great boardwalk. Variety of things to do in Thunder Bay. We camped at Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There's a Home Depot and Lowe's by the water front. Canada Superstore had great buys on 100% maple syrup.

The park was typical of state and provincial parks, i.e. long on beautiful trees and beautiful sites and short on conveniences. It is close to the falls and the really nice walking trails. At night it was very quiet and dark and the stars were abundant. We camped at Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Campsite large, need at least 75 feet of cord. Trees along all roads low and could gouge your roof, corners are especially tight. Some site good for large rv with slides but many not. Constant traffic along all roads with many speeding, no one around to warn people of speed. Many sites seem to have multiple families on them so cars do poke out onto road. Washroom lights on timer; they do go out while in there. Showers have no control for temp and you have to press button at least 8 times for complete shower. We camped at Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The Falls are spectacular. The facilities are good. You need an extension, rentable at the park office, to reach the electrical pillars, which are all placed in the most inaccessible positions. We camped at Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice Provincial Park at the beautiful Falls; worth the stop. Too expensive for no services. Would have preferred a private park. We camped at Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We had a great time here. It is a provincial park, next to Canada's second largest waterfall, with a great swimming beach on the river, all within walking distance of a small town. We were in site E22 - a double site. There is 30 amp power on a stand at the entry to the site. We pulled in so we faced the forest and did not need an extension to reach the power. We got lucky, there was a street festival the weekend we were in town. Negatives, the site was not easy to level, I picked up a leech swimming and it seemed expensive. We camped at Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Kakabeka Falls is a nice park. Restrooms and showers were clean. The 30 amp service pole was far enough away from our motorhome that I had to use an extension cord. A little pricey at $47.00 for only electric hookups. We camped at Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Great park: staff was very friendly and helpful. Only two complaints. The fire wood was terrible: would not stay lit although it was dry. Second: the electrical pedestals were very far from the set-up area. Bring extra lengths of cord or ask for an extra one at the park office. If they have one available they will lend it for the duration of your stay. We camped at Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park in a Tent Trailer.

Nice wooded campground, however the electrical system is messed up, could not hook up 30 amps, only 15 amps. No programs were offered during our stay, even though it is a provincial park. We only stayed 1 night, were booked for 3. The falls were nice. We camped at Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park has many large, well separated, well shaded, quite level sites for those who enjoy a "camping" type experience. Water hookups not available but at the dump station a fresh water hose is available to fill water tanks. The waterfalls is also quite a sight - well worth dropping in just for that reason. This park is about 20 minutes west of Thunder Bay, at the town of Kakabeka Falls. We camped at Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park in a Motorhome.
