We arrived at 7pm with a 23ft trailer, the sites are small, difficult to back into and garbage left over from the last people at the site. We had to gather our picnic table and fire ring. The narrow roads and no signage makes it difficult to maneuver. There were 5 bathroom stalls and one door was locked and another was clogged. We arrived on a Sunday and it was a mess! I wish I had my Lysol wipes before going in there. They seemed to have some attention to them come morning. Not nearly enough washrooms for the amount of sites and only 1 dumping location. The smell of sewer was apparent. There is no separation between seasonal and visiting. Very loud, our 10 year old was frightened at 2am.

It's pretty clear that this campground focuses on the water park. The water park was alright, plenty of seating, umbrellas are nice to offer, lifeguards seemed good, some maintenance of the pool is required (tiles and stone coming off). Overall, the kids enjoyed themselves but if you're looking for a relaxing quiet time this isn't the place. The factory right across the street doesn't help the mood lighting for the evening. We camped at Bingemans Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

The information given by the camping guide, the website and by telephone was misleading. There is a huge swimming 'paradise', but that is not included in the price; you've got to pay a lot extra for that and other things to do. None of the 11 slides is accessible for children below 1 meter. There is one separate pool that can be used by people staying in the campground. It is a simple and ok pool with a life guard. Otherwise there is really nothing to do and there are no playgrounds in the campground. It is next to the river which is nice and a nice long walking trail passes right through. There is one building with showers and restrooms at a one (lucky) up to five (unlucky) minutes walk. It is near the public parking of the resort, thus also used by other visitors and people attending parties organized there. And thus very dirty most of the time. We camped at Bingemans Camping Resort in a Tent.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a nice walking path along the river in both directions from the campground. At the east side of Kitchener (Heritage Dr.) there is a small swimming pool and playground, nice for small kids. The one thing to do with kids (0-14) in Kitchener is to go to THEMUSEUM.

We stayed at the Chalet (main) campground. It is close to a road near an industrial park so the traffic noise is a concern but we were in the middle of the park so it was not too bad. Site was large enough and there are trees around but no privacy between sites. Interior gravel roads are poorly maintained and have large potholes. Washrooms and showers need some TLC and are dated and dirty. The picnic tables are in poor shape. The value came from the "Big Splash" camping package and our two grandsons- five and nine-really enjoyed the water area, mini golf and Funworx. The campground itself almost seems like it is treated as an afterthought and with upgrading it has the potential to be way better. The 'camper pool' is not near the 'Chalet' campground or the 'Glen' campground for that matter and it is a long walk, or short drive, but when we got there it was 'icy cold' and even the boys would not go in it! The hot tub there was OK. While the campground site numbers are clearly posted, the signs for the rest of the complex are not very specific, although once at the campground office they did give us a detailed, but small, map of the complex. The office closes early and there is no security. Speaking of which, although this is not fault of the campground itself, we had a tablecloth and clothesline and pegs plus one tea towel stolen from our site while we were all at Funworx. This is the first time this has happened to us in many many years of RVing.

We cannot comment on Wi-Fi, as we travel 'off the grid' when camping. We camped at Bingemans Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

The waterpark and Funworx are good for kids and there are two 18-hole miniature golf courses in the complex.

Park itself is nothing special. We stayed here to go to Bingemans Big Splash Park. Washrooms were not very clean - I did not take a shower, so I didn't look in the stalls. I did see someone cleaning it one morning...but perhaps they need to do a washroom "check" or clean a couple times a day? Playground was really pathetic. That's an exact quote from my 10 year old and her friend. My 5 year old said it was for babies. Literally one slide. Overall it is fine, just no "frills" whatsoever. If you are traveling with kids, make sure they have lots to keep them occupied if you don't plan to go to the water park. We camped at Bingemans Camping Resort in a Tent Trailer.

Date of Stay: June, 2007 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This was one of our most disappointing and expensive camping experiences. It is by no means a camping resort. The $60.00 a night pull though full hook up sites, cannot accommodate modern motorhomes. We had to trim the branches on some cedar trees just to get our slide out. The site was grass that had not been cut in weeks and the pad was old gravel that was very unlevel. Our last step was almost two feet above the ground after we leveled the motorhome. The power was so bad that it almost melted my electrical hook up. I burnt my fingers on the plug trying to get it out. The sewer hook-up was broken. I had to pull out the duct tape to seal it. The sewer next door to us was cracked and without a cover. The smell was as aromatic as you would expect. We had to stuff plastic bags down it to keep the smell down. When we voice our issues about the hook ups with the staff, they were completely unconcerned. The water was shut off for maintenance in Sunday morning at 9 AM during prime shower time without notice. Good thing we had water on board. Many of our neighbours were caught with soap in there hair & no water. The park does not include what are now considered standard amenities, like cable and WiFi. For the price, one expects these amenities. The pool is located about a mile from the full hook-up site at the top of a steep hill. If you are not in good shape, or have a vehicle, you will not make it. They is no path to the pool, so you are forced to walk down the steep road with blind corners and no sidewalks. We were almost hit twice. We have stayed at campgrounds for $20.00 a night that had much better facilities. This is by no means a resort, although they price it as one. The best part about our stay was leaving. Good thing it was only one night. We camped at Bingemans Camping Resort in a Motorhome.
