Very nice KOA. The price reflected is in Canadian $ and is for a premium patio site. Really nice staff - couldn't be better. Gravel pad and interior roads but easy to navigate and were level. We didn't use wifi nor any other amenities as it was for only one night. We camped at 1000 Islands / Mallorytown KOA in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for 6 nights. 2 weekend nights were $76 CDN each. 4 weekday nights were $63 CDN each. KOA 10% discount applied. Converting $1 CDN to 75 cents USD. Avg cost approx $52 USD per night. Online reservation system easy to use. Check-in was fast and efficient and they gave us treats for our cat! We were guided to our site which was a non-deluxe pull-thru with 50amp, water and sewer. Sites are level and spacious. No foliage so good access to satellite. Verizon cell was good. Verizon data is slow when roaming. Park wifi was hit or miss. All hook-ups worked perfectly. Owners are personable, friendly and actively involved in day to day management. CG is clean and well-maintained. There are a lot of options to keep kids occupied and having fun. Train noise is fairly loud and as frequent as twice per hour. It didn't bother us but I can see that it could bother some. Both the entrance gate and exit gate are a bit quirky for a big rig so use caution. Although we enjoyed our stay, if we wanted to visit the 1000 Island area again, I would probably look for a CG further West as we found ourselves traveling that direction for all of our activities even if it meant sacrificing some of the amenities. However, if we just needed a night or two while passing by on the 401, this would be an excellent choice (albeit expensive). We camped at 1000 Islands / Mallorytown KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Highly recommend to cycle the 1000 Islands Parkway. It's a dedicated bike path with lovely views of the river and beautiful homes. You can ride to it from the CG. The small, local Freshmart grocery store has a surprisingly good selection so you don't have to travel far for provisions. On a rainy day, we drove to the cute little town of Clayton, NY, to visit the Antique Boat Museum. We had delicious pizza and beer at Wood Boat Brewery across the street.

Overall Rating:

We made reservations when we were only 60 miles away. The person we talked to was very friendly and assured us of a pull through.

At check in the staff was very efficient. They will carry a tab for purchases in the store. After registration we were escorted to our site. The pull through site was spacious, we have slides on both side. We had full hook ups, including good 50 amp electrical service.

Over all, the park looked well kept. There seem to be a lot of activities for children. The train someone else mentioned, is distant and not a problem.

Like most KOA parks they are over priced, even for this area. We camped at 1000 Islands / Mallorytown KOA in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

A quiet campground in basically an open field. Lots of trains especially at night but far enough away to be mostly background noise - inaudible with windows closed.

A winding gravel access road with short sight distances - iffy for two rigs passing. An awkward setup for check in and access to the campground for big rigs - a 90 degree turn from the check in area to the gate into the campground, then another 90 degree turn immediately after the gate. Posts close aboard on either side of the gate and a poorly trimmed tree on the inside of the turn after the gate. Big rigs can either scrape the tree or delay the 2nd turn and drive over the grass. Big rigs should park as far to the left in the check in area as possible to make the turns into the campground easier.

Mostly level gravel sites with good length and better than average spacing between sites (grass). Site had a fire pit and picnic table. Power ok, water ok (45psi), sewer needs a donut. Wifi had good signal with adequate speed. TMobile (Tellus) LTE was 4 bars with good speed.

Ok road bike riding within campground with St Lawrence bikeway a short drive away. Full recycling on site.

We would return here when in area. We camped at 1000 Islands / Mallorytown KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Very well run campground. Office staff are excellent. Grounds are well maintained. Jumping pillow is new installation since our stay last year. Weather didn't co-operate with us again this stay, so we can't comment on the pool. The big pull-throughs provide ample space and new picnic tables. Overall is fairly quiet despite the train off in the distance, not loud enough to be disturbing. Look forward to staying again. We camped at 1000 Islands / Mallorytown KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Rate reflects this weekend's 2 for 1 VKR special. Great campground. Grounds well kept, nice pool, sauna and hot tub. Close proximity to 401, but no road noise. Occasional train in the distance. Freshmart grocery store within walking distance. Dog really enjoyed the fenced in dog park. Never been a real fan of KOA parks, but this is the 2nd we've stayed at this summer and they're growing on me. A lot of activities for all ages. Will stay again. Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here with another family for the May long weekend and were very happy with the experience. The staff escorted us to our lot and assisted with backing us in, which was helpful and appreciated. The site was large enough for my 28' travel trailer (31' from tongue to tail) but the services were spread apart a bit, which forced me to buy an extra length of water hose. This was surprisingly inexpensive for a campground. Family friendly and everyone was really helpful. My kids had a blast catching frogs in the pond and playing in the well equipped playground. The highlight of my weekend was when the owner did a second tour on the scheduled hay wagon ride that we missed by minutes the first time around. I have no doubt that we will be back next year. We camped at 1000 Islands / Mallorytown KOA in a Travel Trailer.

New pull-through sites are long and spacious as well as level. All services worked well. Quiet setting away from traffic offers a good, peaceful rest. Rate reflects KOA discount including tax for a 50 amp site. Will stay again when next in area. We camped at 1000 Islands / Mallorytown KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Excellent place to camp when traveling to and from Ontario-Quebec-East Coast. We were able to get a camp site at the last minute on the Friday night of the August Civic long weekend. Very accommodating. It looks like they are expanding too. If you have children, this is an excellent campground with focus on activities for the younger kids. A nice park with very good hosts. Much of it was under construction during our stay and the mini-golf and playground were both a little run-down. Nice sites, some well-maintained seasonals. We camped at 1000 Islands / Mallorytown KOA in a Travel Trailer.
