1 RV Park near Mattawa, Ontario
Jul 2018 - $50.00
The setting for this park is incredible. It is set on the banks of the Mattawa River and very close to the Ottawa River. It's on a hillside with little lanes all over the place. The campers are somewhat close together, but they are set up differently all over the park which makes it look more like a neighborhood than a parking lot. People were swimming in the river and playing on the beach each day. Check-in was easy. I didn't have to go very deep into the park for my site, but I can see how it might be difficult to navigate some of those lanes with larger RVs. All in all, this was a great park with wonderful scenery. Oh, and it is very close to downtown which is basically one street with nice stores and eateries. No noise problems at all. - EdinFL

Beautiful, well maintained facility on the banks of the Mattawa River just above the confluence with the Ottawa River. Restricted Access Park offers playground equipment, room for kids to roam, a short float trip on the river or access to swim at 2 beach areas. Canoes are available to rent. Access to the extensive ORV trails in the area make this a destination campground. Internet is currently cellular based. The park is in the process of upgrading campground WiFi from just the office area. T-Mobile and Verizon (serviced by Bell, Telus or Rogers) worked for most of our group, issues were equipment based. Rental Cabins are available and a limited number of seasonal sites. Our (and our friends) experience was enhanced with the exceptionally friendly and inclusive seasonal community and park owners. The sites are grass/dirt covered gravel and provide a modicum of privacy, the roads have speed bumps provided by the large trees throughout the park and facilities, while dated, are well maintained and kept clean. With the weather considerations at this location, 30 amp was plenty of power for our coach. My site was one of the few with sewer available however the park does provide honey wagon service. We will definitely be visiting this park again. - Adventuring Andersons

Site was gravel and level and spaced enough that one didn't feel crammed in, about 30-50 feet from pad of one site to pad of next site. The pull through we had must have been at least 100' long. Some trees for shade. Mostly seasonal sites but well maintained. Campground is right on the water but all sites are back so that there is mowed grass that you can sit or walk along the shore. Was able to get DirecTV and Verizon reception was good. We stayed only one night and used the campground only as a space to spend the night. - Ramblin On
