Overall Rating:

The sites are well laid out. It is easily accessible to Ottawa, if you leave after 10:00am and return by 3:00pm or 8:00pm. Rush hour on Bank St. is a killer either way. The host/owners are courteous and very helpful. Stayed for 2 weeks while my wife visited her mother in Gatineau, QC, on the other side of the Ottawa River. The camp electricity posts have been updated recently and new patios and painted picnic tables have been put in on many sites. However, if you are a walker, like me, the closest spot for a coffee, bottle of wine and groceries is 2 mi. each way along Bank St. (which at this stage is a major highway with a high volume of heavy truck traffic). Many long-term campers, but still a very wide selection of overnight or weekly campsites. The wi-fi can be excellent, or if others are on it, average. Water comes from the well, but we were impressed with the water. Mosquitoes were only bad on a few days/nights. The camp is very quiet at night, but you might occasionally hear the heavy trucks at the nearby quarry with their back up beepers around 4:30am-6:00am in the morning, but the quarry appears to be a couple miles away. On many mornings these sounds seem to be muted. Well worth staying. I only wish they were about US$7 less a day, thus making it less expensive for a longer term stay. Nonetheless, the cost of living in Canada is much higher than the USA. We camped at Camp Hither Hills in a Travel Trailer.

Nice location in the rural area just 15 minutes from downtown Ottawa. The park, however, has very little in the way of working amenities. They advertise wifi, but it does not work. The water pressure was so low that we had to use our internal water pump. The sites are gravel and a mix of back-in and pull-through. Our site was a pull-through and was very long but narrow. We camped at Camp Hither Hills in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed in the rear of the campground with a patio. Did not get to enjoy sitting out as the mosquitos were really bad. Looked like a newer section of the campground. We were given an escort to our site upon arrival. The site was very big and had plenty of room for the trailer and my truck. The hookups were easy to get to and we're in good working order. We would have liked a handout about things at the campground and perhaps a small list of rules. It appears that it is acceptable to leave barking dogs in RV's when no one is there all day long. Although WiFi is available we found some instances when we could not get online. They do have pool in the front of the campground. We camped at Camp Hither Hills in a Travel Trailer.

Family owned park. Only 12 miles from Parliament Hill in Ottawa but out in the country. Quiet park. We reserved 2 nights but ended up staying 8 days. This park is very peaceful. We camped at Camp Hither Hills in a Fifth Wheel.

If you have not been here in a couple of years, you need to add it back to your list. Several new level firm crushed rock spots have been added to the back, complete with paver decks. Finding 50 AMP in the Ottawa area is a challenge, but there are ample 50 amp in this park now. Its so close to Ottawa for touring and visiting the area. Lots of new shopping real close too. I'd have given the resort a better rating if there were activities organized, but its really no big deal for us. Have found the owners to be very accommodating and super friendly. We camped at Camp Hither Hills in a Motorhome.

Last minute reservations on a direct route to downtown. Smooth check in; wish there was a handout for locating stuff/laundry; posted in office though. Grassy site #17. Hookups: hubby wished a better sewer; it worked. Water tastes okay. OTA TV with 18 stations; good reception in shady site. WIFI. Connects but not useful!! Nice area to walk dog; a guy sounded angry when asking if dog on leash; was dark and dog on leash!!! SHOWER ROOMS need to be de-bugged. No toilet paper x 2 days in one of ladies stalls. Would stay here again. We camped at Camp Hither Hills in a Motorhome.

On the plus side, the water pressure is good, and it's one of the few parks in the area with 50 amp service and sewer. The roads are in pretty good shape and very navigable. On the minus side, the wifi is horrible and the router needed to be recycled often but the park managers didn't keep up with it, so there was a lot of dead time. Also, we were able to connect smart phones to the wifi (when it was up), but not the laptops or tablets. We camped at Camp Hither Hills in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

This park is right outside Ottawa. Walmart is about 15 minutes away. If you go downtown, park your vehicle at the Walmart and take a bus downtown. Downtown is a driving and parking nightmare. The racetrack is about 10 minutes away and they have a fabulous (quantity- AND quality-wise), though pricey ($19.95 CDN) buffet. You can sit at your table and watch, and bet on, the trotters. There is also a casino there with no table games but a HUGE selection of slot machines.

We stayed at this park for 5 days while visiting the Ottawa Capital Region in a fifth wheel. This is a nice park with gravel roads and gravel sites which can get muddy during rain periods. Our site was a full hook minus cable. The park is dated and will require some TLC but is a good choice for visiting the Ottawa Region as it is a very short drive to the down town area and all amenities. The owner was friendly upon our return and accommodating in assisting us in setting up on our extremely long pull through site and recommending great "Must See" events. We camped at Camp Hither Hills in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed in the back section of the park and were the first customer to use the brand new site. 50 amp full hook up. No issues with any of the services. It rained the entire time we were here and there was a lot of standing water. WiFi did not work at the site but our cell phones, MiFi and DirecTv did. The staff was accommodating and the park is convenient to the Ottawa area and its attractions. We would stay again and would recommend this campground. We camped at Camp Hither Hills in a Motorhome.

Cell service was 4 bars LTE We will be back to spend more time in Ottawa. We camped at Camp Hither Hills in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The male owner of this site is very rude to women and hung up on me when I called to reserve a spot. Having arrived after a long journey, he shouted at me but seemed to calm down after a few moments. The site itself is very near a major road into Ottawa and is very noisy. When we were there the washrooms were not clean at all, possibly due to the number of young teens also camping at the site as they seemed to hang round the washrooms. Due to the rudeness of the owner and disgusting state of the washrooms and the cost of the showers ( that isn't mentioned on their website) I doubt we will be back We camped at Camp Hither Hills in a Tent Trailer.

Rate shown is for 30 amp back-in with Good Sam discount. Friendly manager who checked to make sure we got hooked up correctly at our site. The site was on grass with electric and water connections in the back near the fence and sewer was about midway. Only problem with hookups was the water tap leaked, but there being two I used the other one. Our section of the campground was the closest to the highway so there is some noise, but not that much to be annoying. No cable TV, but about 14 channels off the antenna. Wi-Fi was useless as no problem connecting, but internet access was almost impossible most of the time due to lack of bandwidth. Laundry and "Coach House" are not very clean. One washer leaked and the dryers did not dry the clothes. Campground is in a rural area so not much in walking distance. Nearest shopping centre is 2.5 miles north. I think I would try another campground if ever in the area again. We camped at Camp Hither Hills in a Motorhome.

Stayed while Genset being repaired at Cummins. Friendly staff. Approximately 7.5 miles to Centre City. Long pull-throughs (80') with good 50 amps. Sites not level, but that is why jacks are good to have. Paved entrance & interior road with gravel sites. Grass on both sides. Formerly family farm. We would stay here again. Not fancy, but comfortable. We camped at Camp Hither Hills in a Motorhome.
