When we arrived our campsite A2 was muddy and there were orange cones between ours and the adjacent site. I was quite disappointed as all of the other sites in this loop did not have a wetness issue. Even though it was early evening we returned to the office but the young man said he couldn't change it only 'the girls' could do it in the morning. We left early in the morning to head into Ottowa bit when we got back midday two young maintenance crew were adding a layer of dirt to the orange coned area. I asked him if it was possible to add some sawdust or mulch to our site. He informed me they had weeks of rain and drainage was an issue throughout the park. Within a half hour the head of maintenance knocked on our door to explain what was happening and would a layer of gravel be adequate? We left to go back into the city and when we got home that night we pleasantly surprised to see all of the muddy area covered with gravel. This type of response deserves a shout out here. Due to the rain most of this area of Ontario is swarming with mosquitoes! We camped at Wesley Clover Parks Campground (formerly Ottawa Municipal Camp) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The changing of the guard every day at 10am in front of the Parliament building, June 25-August 25? Is not to be missed. Tickets for free tours of Parliament (don't miss the library!) are available everyday at 90 Wellington which is directly across from Parliament. There is usually a long line but it moves fast enough considering. If you want the English speaking tours be in line before 10:30.

Small sites close together. Camped in loop 1C. Some noise from the 417 highway, but nothing to keep us awake. Park was clean, as were the washrooms. Friendly staff at gate. WIFI was available but we did not try to use it. We were late leaving ( 6:30 pm) and paid an extra fee to leave the trailer on site while in Ottawa. Campground was very quiet and not fully booked during our visit. Great place to stay if touring Ottawa. Easy access to the city from a country like setting. We will definitely use this park again. We camped at Wesley Clover Parks Campground (formerly Ottawa Municipal Camp) in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here the first day it opened 2017 for a week while we explored Ottawa area. Location is excellent, as there is quick access to everything. Even took in a concert and Senators game at Canadian Tire Center which is minutes away. Although handy it is still a park, with big trees and good spacing. Facilities are old, but ok. Wifi only worked at office and sites have no sewer. Large Big Rigs may be a challenge to park. We have a 30 ft Class A which was ok. Will definitely stay here again.

Because of great location suggest reserving well ahead. July 1 of 2017 is already booked up! We camped at Wesley Clover Parks Campground (formerly Ottawa Municipal Camp) in a Motorhome.

This was our second stay. Great location, close to hiking & cycling trails. Minutes away from downtown Ottawa; on weekends they have a shuttle to downtown.

Sites are clean, leveled with services easily accessible. We camped at Wesley Clover Parks Campground (formerly Ottawa Municipal Camp) in a Motorhome.

This was a nice place and we would definitely return if in the area. It is part of a larger recreational complex that includes hiking/biking trails and a large equestrian park. It was, or is a government park that is now owned or managed by the same folks who developed the Kanata area and also own and manage the Brookstone hotel and The Marshes Golf Club. All sites are large and in the woods. Although other sites may be in view, you have a real sense of privacy due to all of the trees. Water and 30 amp power. No sewer sites, but there is a dump station. We did laundry: there are 5 washers and 5 dryers that were clean and worked well. $2 per load. Numerous restrooms and showers. Nothing fancy, but clean and they work. There is a wifi hotspot at each bathhouse and at the office, but the signal doesn't reach very far. We saw lots of folks standing around the bathhouses using their electronic devices. The park is quiet, although as someone else mentioned, you're not too far from the 417. But compared to other places we've stayed, the traffic noise was minimal. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful! Hard to believe someplace this nice exists only 15 minutes from downtown Ottawa! We camped at Wesley Clover Parks Campground (formerly Ottawa Municipal Camp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The park is managed by the same folks who own The Marshes Golf Club (10 minutes away and VERY nice). A gentleman in the campground office can hook you up with the pro for a nice discount. We played in prime time at the twilight rate - a pretty good savings!

Site was on exposed bedrock and was uneven. It was a "pull-through" (parallel with the road) but the electric and water service were located on the opposite side of our 40' motorhome. Luckily there was no one in the next site and we were able to use it to turn around and come in from the other direction. It took a little maneuvering but once we were situated the site worked fine for us, considering other choices of campgrounds in the area. We had the only 30 amp site in our loop. Most of the 30 amp sites in the park were located in another loop but we never took the time to check them out. Campground was located close enough to downtown Ottawa that it was a quick drive into the city center. There is also a bike trail very close by that we used to ride into the city one day (20+ miles round trip). Most of the sites are isolated by thick underbrush so there was a good bit of privacy. WiFi was available at the rest rooms and our Verizon service was good. We camped at Wesley Clover Parks Campground (formerly Ottawa Municipal Camp) in a Motorhome.

Found park by GPS but Exit 134 or 138 off 417 (TransCanada) will easily get you to park with very few signs. Registration lane is short, but staff in office are quick and efficient. Most sites for big rigs are 30amp with water and there is one dumpstation. Our site was level as were most and was quite spacious but you do hear the noise from the 417. Overall it is a great park for touring Ottawa but stores are some distance from park. We camped at Wesley Clover Parks Campground (formerly Ottawa Municipal Camp) in a Motorhome.

The park itself very quiet but with the parks' close proximity to the 417, you do hear traffic. The 417 is the main artery into the city for most commuters. You do get to the noise after a while. The washrooms are a bit dated but are kept clean. There is a playground and the park has a "Forest and Nature School" for the kids. We were looking forward to staying at the Ottawa Municipal Campground and instead found it now privately owned or operated. Sites were all back-in, located in the woods around three "groups" further divided into "loops." Sites were gravel and reasonably level. Neighbors were closer than in most state parks, but no problem. Restrooms provided one male and one female shower for each 50 sites, more or less, which struck us as inadequate. Nightly rate of $40 Canadian converted to $32 US, and included a 10% discount for those over 65. The campground is about 2 miles to the 417 expressway into downtown Ottawa, or about 3 miles to shopping, restaurants, etc. Wi-Fi only worked when right next to a bathhouse or laundry building. The campground is convenient for biking the many area bike paths, including two within a half mile of the park. We'd stay again when visiting Ottawa or Gatineau. Nice campground with good services from check-in to utilities. Site was level and a good length to also park our car. Mosquitoes where a pain after a rain or around 8:30 pm. Campground about 15 t0 20 minutes from downtown Ottawa. We camped here in a 40' motorhome. We camped at Wesley Clover Parks Campground (formerly Ottawa Municipal Camp) in a Motorhome.

This is a sprawling campground with all sites in treed areas. Many are not very level. Washrooms are older but generally clean. Wi-Fi works only in the washroom area, not at the sites. There are good laundry facilities at the campground entrance but not within walking distance of the sites. Local bus is available at a nearby park and ride for the 1/2 hour trip to downtown Ottawa. We camped at Wesley Clover Parks Campground (formerly Ottawa Municipal Camp) in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here a little more than a week. Lots of trees. You could see your neighbors, but you don't feel you are right on top of them. Wi-Fi didn't work at campsite, but all the washrooms had it. It was just as fast as home. Washrooms were kept very well. Close to down town, but in the country. Hiking trail near by, bicycle trails almost right there that will take you downtown if you wanted too. A pool would have been nice, but they are a lot of work to maintain. Yes, I would stay there again. We camped at Wesley Clover Parks Campground (formerly Ottawa Municipal Camp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Fifteen minute drive from "downtown" Ottawa...lots of wide, long sites and big rig friendly. Very close to the #417 highway into Ottawa, so lots of white noise from traffic which dissipates rapidly during the evening. The place is well managed by RVers who have worked here for 10 years and go south every winter. Only drawbacks are no paved sites, no sewer hookups and one dump station on the way out. But very scenic and lots of sites. Recently bought out by new owners of the horse park 1 mile down the road, but will remain as a RV park with same managers. Rate paid was with Good Sam discount. Would definitely stay here again when in the area or traveling thru, 45 minutes from the #401. We camped at Wesley Clover Parks Campground (formerly Ottawa Municipal Camp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Canada's municipal parks are great. This was no exception. About 15 minutes to downtown. It seems very secluded, next to a greenway bike route, with heavily wooded sites not too close to each other. WiFi was available in the office, adequate for email, but slow Very clean. We would absolutely sty here gain if visiting Ottawa.
