My husband and I spent three nights at Wesley Clover. We wanted to visit Ottawa, and this seemed like a good spot. We were in a pull thru site, which was in a newer section of the campground. Basically it's an open field with no privacy. Wish we'd driven thru the campground before deciding on a pull thru. The back in sites have lots of privacy and trees between sites. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the very loud noise from the highway it's right next to. Noise is 24/7, doesn't make for a good nights sleep! The girl in the office who checked us in seemed bored, like she was doing us a huge favor for letting us stay there. We camped at Wesley Clover Parks Campground (formerly Ottawa Municipal Camp) in a Motorhome.

Stayed for a week to visit and play tourist. Lovely park but bad mosquitoes this time. Power and water at the rear of our site, no sewer onsite but dump station easily accessible on the way in or out. Constant drone from 417 Hwy which generally subsided for quiet sleeping at night. Staff on duty at most hours, agree the young lads on the maintenance carts could slow down and they need speed limit signs in the park for the rest of the crowd that is always there. Make sure you have reservations before you show up! We camped at Wesley Clover Parks Campground (formerly Ottawa Municipal Camp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Ottawa. Canadian Aviation and Space Museum-a must see. Has airplane rides for 35 bucks Canadian per person. Worth the cost! Art Museum, Holocaust Museum, Parliament, Governor Generals Home. Changing of the Guard at Parliament and Governor Generals Home. Water front. Boats rides and rentals. Worth at least a 5 day stay.

A major heat wave hit Ottawa and the park had a tough time providing enough power for the demands of a full park during the Canada Day weekend. (This problem is in several campgrounds in Ontario I am told.) I got a pull-thru lot like I do everywhere and asked to be moved to a back-in site once I walked around and saw how nice and shady and roomy they are. You can't go wrong with one of their back-in sites. (The pull-thru lots are fine, but not much shade and kind of out in lower 40 on their own.) The office folks were always helpful. I think maybe they should check on the guys who ride around in the carts a bit more to make sure they are dedicated to keeping the park in great shape. It's convenient to the city and about 3 km from a bus stop, if needed. Good playground. The washrooms looked relatively new on the outside. No sewer hook-ups and no 50 amp service. I would recommend this park. We camped at Wesley Clover Parks Campground (formerly Ottawa Municipal Camp) in a Motorhome.

We were looking for a place to camp that would be convenient for visiting Ottawa. We're self-contained and don't use the facilities other than an occasional shower. We stayed on weekdays in late May (after the long weekend) in an 8 metre (25 foot) motor home. This is a very nice, very conveniently located campground. The sites are close together yet most are large and surrounded by trees to provide some privacy. Most site are level or need some minor leveling. Most are back in although there are a few pull throughs. The sites in clusters 1, 3 and 6 are mostly shaded and sites in cluster 9 are full sun. The showers are clean with hot water. There was good wifi coverage near the washrooms and office. We had good phone and data coverage on our ATT and Verizon phones while roaming on Rogers service. We camped at Wesley Clover Parks Campground (formerly Ottawa Municipal Camp) in a Motorhome.

This is clean, well maintained park in an excellent location for visiting Ottawa. The entire park is wooded and sites are close but reasonably isolated thanks to the trees. I enjoy bicycling and there are excellent paved trails in the expansive "Greenway" that surrounds the park. It is close to the Trans-Canada highway which makes it convenient but has the drawback that one can hear some of the vehicle noise. We camped at Wesley Clover Parks Campground (formerly Ottawa Municipal Camp) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The city of Ottawa is lovely. As a capitol city there are excellent museums, architecture and restaurants and activities. Excellent bicycling in the Greenway that surrounds the park. I bicycled pretty much entirely on paved bicycle trails all the way into the downtown along the scenic Ottawa River, it is about 12 miles to the Parliament Building.

When we arrived our campsite A2 was muddy and there were orange cones between ours and the adjacent site. I was quite disappointed as all of the other sites in this loop did not have a wetness issue. Even though it was early evening we returned to the office but the young man said he couldn't change it only 'the girls' could do it in the morning. We left early in the morning to head into Ottowa bit when we got back midday two young maintenance crew were adding a layer of dirt to the orange coned area. I asked him if it was possible to add some sawdust or mulch to our site. He informed me they had weeks of rain and drainage was an issue throughout the park. Within a half hour the head of maintenance knocked on our door to explain what was happening and would a layer of gravel be adequate? We left to go back into the city and when we got home that night we pleasantly surprised to see all of the muddy area covered with gravel. This type of response deserves a shout out here. Due to the rain most of this area of Ontario is swarming with mosquitoes! We camped at Wesley Clover Parks Campground (formerly Ottawa Municipal Camp) in a Motorhome.

The changing of the guard every day at 10am in front of the Parliament building, June 25-August 25? Is not to be missed. Tickets for free tours of Parliament (don't miss the library!) are available everyday at 90 Wellington which is directly across from Parliament. There is usually a long line but it moves fast enough considering. If you want the English speaking tours be in line before 10:30.

We stayed here for a week setting up our trailer prior to our east coast trip in 2017. The roadways to get to the sites are good but get tight in the break off circles going to the individual campsites. Being able to back up well is essential if you have a long rig (our overall length is about 50ft). It is a beautiful, heavily wooded park inside Ottawa's Greenbelt. There is access from here to the more than 800 km of bicycle paths found in the Ottawa area. We camped at Wesley Clover Parks Campground (formerly Ottawa Municipal Camp) in a Travel Trailer.

Small sites close together. Camped in loop 1C. Some noise from the 417 highway, but nothing to keep us awake. Park was clean, as were the washrooms. Friendly staff at gate. WIFI was available but we did not try to use it. We were late leaving ( 6:30 pm) and paid an extra fee to leave the trailer on site while in Ottawa. Campground was very quiet and not fully booked during our visit. Great place to stay if touring Ottawa. Easy access to the city from a country like setting. We will definitely use this park again. We stayed here the first day it opened 2017 for a week while we explored Ottawa area. Location is excellent, as there is quick access to everything. Even took in a concert and Senators game at Canadian Tire Center which is minutes away. Although handy it is still a park, with big trees and good spacing. Facilities are old, but ok. Wifi only worked at office and sites have no sewer. Large Big Rigs may be a challenge to park. We have a 30 ft Class A which was ok. Will definitely stay here again.

Because of great location suggest reserving well ahead. July 1 of 2017 is already booked up! We camped at Wesley Clover Parks Campground (formerly Ottawa Municipal Camp) in a Motorhome.

Site was on exposed bedrock and was uneven. It was a "pull-through" (parallel with the road) but the electric and water service were located on the opposite side of our 40' motorhome. Luckily there was no one in the next site and we were able to use it to turn around and come in from the other direction. It took a little maneuvering but once we were situated the site worked fine for us, considering other choices of campgrounds in the area. We had the only 30 amp site in our loop. Most of the 30 amp sites in the park were located in another loop but we never took the time to check them out. Campground was located close enough to downtown Ottawa that it was a quick drive into the city center. There is also a bike trail very close by that we used to ride into the city one day (20+ miles round trip). Most of the sites are isolated by thick underbrush so there was a good bit of privacy. WiFi was available at the rest rooms and our Verizon service was good. We camped at Wesley Clover Parks Campground (formerly Ottawa Municipal Camp) in a Motorhome.

This was a nice place and we would definitely return if in the area. It is part of a larger recreational complex that includes hiking/biking trails and a large equestrian park. It was, or is a government park that is now owned or managed by the same folks who developed the Kanata area and also own and manage the Brookstone hotel and The Marshes Golf Club. All sites are large and in the woods. Although other sites may be in view, you have a real sense of privacy due to all of the trees. Water and 30 amp power. No sewer sites, but there is a dump station. We did laundry: there are 5 washers and 5 dryers that were clean and worked well. $2 per load. Numerous restrooms and showers. Nothing fancy, but clean and they work. There is a wifi hotspot at each bathhouse and at the office, but the signal doesn't reach very far. We saw lots of folks standing around the bathhouses using their electronic devices. The park is quiet, although as someone else mentioned, you're not too far from the 417. But compared to other places we've stayed, the traffic noise was minimal. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful! Hard to believe someplace this nice exists only 15 minutes from downtown Ottawa! The park itself very quiet but with the parks' close proximity to the 417, you do hear traffic. The 417 is the main artery into the city for most commuters. You do get to the noise after a while. The washrooms are a bit dated but are kept clean. There is a playground and the park has a "Forest and Nature School" for the kids.
