Emily Provincial Park is located along the Pigeon River which is part of the Trent Severn Waterway, but there are only a couple of non-electric tent sites that have direct access to the water- most sites are a good distance away. The Lookout Hill and Circle campgrounds offer large private sites that can accommodate various types of equipment ranging from tents to large RVs. Many of these sites offer electric hook-up. There is good visual privacy between sites. Emily Provincial Park is a disappointment in the activities department. It is not at all what you would typically expect from Ontario Provincial Parks. Swimming: There are 2 beach areas at Emily- North Beach and South Beach. North Beach is located in the Day Use area and is downright gross. There are floating clumps of algae and water vegetation mixed with manmade litter making the water un-inviting. To be honest I didn't see anyone actually swimming there. South Beach was better in the sense that some effort has been made to keep it maintained. The sand appears to be groomed and a specific swimming area has been marked off. Hiking: Only one trail and it is under construction and not yet completed. Fishing: Emily sponsors a Learn to Fish program and rents out tackle and gear. You can fish off the boat docks and also from shore- you will need an Ontario Fishing Licence that must be purchased before arrival. Ontario Provincial Parks do not issue fishing licences. I am not a fan of Emily Provincial Park. I have grown to expect more from Ontario Provincial Parks and Emily is definitely not on par with these expectations. For the RVer who is a boating/fishing enthusiast and brings their own equipment, this park might be ideal due to its access to the Trent Severn Waterway. As for a typical weekend stay, I would not recommend this park. We camped at Emily Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

it was cold and raining but still a great time. Having only one access point to the 1 dump station could be improved but it was conveniently located and all worked well and it was maintained well. The site was big and easy to get into. The power was easy to access as well. The water could have used a thread on it so you could fill your tank on your site vs the fill station. The beaches looked like they would be great in warmer weather and they also had lots of good ice cream flavours. We liked it here and will be back. We camped at Emily Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in this campground while looking for a permanent park. It was immaculately kept. They have strict rules that are enforced such as alcohol, fires, noise, etc. And it was truly appreciated. I found it safe for my grandchildren and the people running the park were kind and professional. I would recommend this park to anyone who wants safe, clean fun! Some spots here are very uneaven: it is very difficult to get your trailer level. Most spots are very large, with mature trees. Fill up on water when you enter as there is no other way to get water. The river is very natural and you may get mucky or sandy when swimming. The electric hookups are not located in good spots, be careful to get your rig close enough to plug in, (boxes are shared between sites.) We camped at Emily Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

Only a few have 50 amp service. 60% have electric service. Pull-thrus don't have shade and more exposed to other campers view; they are between 2 rows of back-ins. Picnic table and fire ring. Public telephones around. On Pigeon River but some sites have a view. Has boardwalk trail but that was closed on our visit. Dump station on way out. New water system so water is now OK. Nesting black terns but they leave in mid-August. We camped at Emily Provincial Park in a Motorhome.
