Campsite in Algonquin section were big and spacious. Neighbours not too close. Lots of trees and shade. Electrical outlets are far away. My 50' cord wouldn't reach. My B.I.L. had an extra 25' and that made it. We camped at MacGregor Point Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Port Elgin, pop. 10,000, close by for shopping, restaurants, bars, etc. There is a good golf course, Saugeen GC, close by too. Beach at park on Lake Huron was good, walking trails about 3 to 5 miles long, roads wide enough for biking.

Overall Rating:

This campground is AMAZING! They are open all year long! It is a huge campground with various levels of privacy and can accommodate large camping groups too. The size of the lots will vary based on accommodation type (30'+ RV versus tent).

The online reservations site is extremely user friendly and they shows multiple pictures for each site so you can see what you are getting before you get there. Their website also gives a good description of the type of site you are booking (i.e., full/partial sun vs shaded, level of privacy, etc.).

They have huge bike/walking trails. They have a general store that offers a great variety of goodies. You can rent bikes of various sizes. Their beach is AMAZING! Bathrooms are super clean and are checked on multiple times a day. They gates are open until 11 pm. They are not far from the Port Elgin beach and the town has a lot of box stores and great restaurants if you want a night off from cooking.

The staff are always smiling and extremely pleasant and accommodating.

Lots of wild life to see and hear (turtles, frogs, variety of birds singing, raccoons, chipmunks, squirrels).

All around.... you just will not be disappointed. We camped at MacGregor Point Provincial Park in a Tent Trailer.

The park needs a good cleaning up. Trash was laying around in several areas (shame on the campers). This park is a nightmare for a large rig. Limbs need to be trimmed on roads and at sites. I booked a site for a unit over 32' and had a 2" limb about 20' from the entrance of my sight at a height of about 10'. Instead of workers driving around they should try to work at making this park the jewel it should be. Our RV is 40' long. We camped at MacGregor Point Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

MacGregor Point Provincial Park has nice large, treed sites. The sites are spaced well apart. We camped in site 334 and our friends camped in site 335. These sites are intended for two families camping together. They are connected sites, but still a good size. There are excellent bike trails at this Provincial Park. We camped at MacGregor Point Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Electric only in one section of the campground. Most sites large; some sites pull-thru but curved. Need long electric power cord to reach electric post that is out by road and between you and your neighbor. We went head in to reach power post and we had a long cord. Picnic table, fire ring at each site. Small beach reached from parking lot by boardwalk. Bike trails. Wood cost $6 a bag but nice hard wood. Nice bushes between sites; some sites have more trees. Water faucets thru park do not have threads. Has dump station and good water near there. Kids in office were very afraid we wouldn't fit in site at 32 feet. We camped at MacGregor Point Provincial Park in a Motorhome.
