We received a business-like reception and an orientation. There are a lot of permanent residents. Some of their sites are quite spacious and some have sewers. The short-stay sites are sewerless, pull-through, and quite close. There is not much shade. As other reviewers have noted, the lanes separating rows of sites are narrow and turning can be challenging. Dog walking, when we were there, was limited to the campground on the road side of the railway because the river side was covered in goose droppings. Wifi is strong by the office. We could occasionally get a connection at our site. Road noise from busy highway 17 (Trans-Canada) was constant. Inside the trailer with the windows shut we were not bothered by it. The occasional train did not bother us either. We were there for an overnight and would do the same again but would not stay longer. We camped at Serpent River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Good place to stop in for a night. Pull thru spots with electricity and water. Dump station on way out. They had a nice looking pool but the weather wasn't cooperating when we were there. Laundry facilities worked well. We camped at Serpent River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice little park that has a river adjacent to the back lots. It made a nice place to walk our dogs. The road was a little close, but we didn't hear anything in the night. The wifi was okay and people friendly. As a stopover, we would recommend this campground. We camped at Serpent River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park on hwy 17. Lots of seasonal campers but the sites were all well maintained and the park was quiet. Nice playground and pool and a good dog walk area. The lady in the office was very friendly and they have a well equipped store for supplies. Road noise was not an issue. There is a train that goes past twice a day. We would stay here again. We camped at Serpent River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites were not very even and were gravel with a lot of grass growing through. When we leveled our 39 foot motorhome the front end was so low that the steps would not open fully. Since we were only staying 1 night we did not bother trying to add pads and re-leveling. When we were ready to leave in the morning it looked like it would be difficult to get out of our pull-through site as the trailer next door had stayed hooked to its tow vehicle and it looked like it would be tight squeeze to get past the vehicle and the post marking the site across the very narrow road. Luckily the trailer across from us pulled out and we were able to cut through their site. We were able to get satellite TV and our Verizon was strong. Campground was OK for spending the night while passing through. We camped at Serpent River Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground right on Highway 17. Nice friendly easy check in. Security gates at entrance. Gravel roads and grass/gravel pads with lots of grass between pads. Easy access with large, long, spacious pull thrus. There are two sections to the park - the back section is seasonal and the front section is short term. The sections are separated by the pool and large playground. The wi-fi was fast but a little difficult to sign in at startup and did cut out a couple of times.

NEGATIVES: Lots of highway noise that did lighten up after dark. We had to sleep with windows closed and a small fan on for white noise. The water pressure was quite low.

This was a great overnight stay and we would definitely stay again. We camped at Serpent River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

A lot of seasonal and permanent sites, but mostly neat and well-kept. Nightly guests are assigned to sites near the front, which are mostly good pull-throughs. My biggest complaint was the "free" Wi-Fi was extremely slow and only really accessible from the office patio. I was told that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, and this was just "one of those days." As someone who needs about an hour of Internet per night for business reasons, I am getting tired of finding out that promised Wi-Fi just does not exist, even with a booster. There are very few campgrounds with electric along this stretch of the Trans-Canada Highway, so am disappointed with results. We camped at Serpent River Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a nice place to stay along Route 17 in Ontario, Canada if you have a big rig. There was plenty of space between sites, however, the road between the rows of sites was pretty narrow. If the park isn't full you can drive through the site in front of you without having to make a tight turn, otherwise it would be a challenge. It's right off the highway but quiet and there was good signage off the highway, driving from the west to find it. WiFi was good, no cable TV. No sewer hook-up at the site. They have a dump by the entrance but we didn't need it. We would stay here again but would ask for a site in the front row for easier access to get back out. We camped at Serpent River Campground in a Motorhome.

Management efficient and friendly. Sites grassy with level gravel bed. Water electricity great. On the Serpent River for view. Near the highway but noise was not a problem. Excellent pool at 4.5 feet. Friendly campers. No sewage hookup and wifi reflected in rating of 7/10. We camped at Serpent River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

There are few campgrounds for big rigs on the Trans - Canada highway, so Serpent River is a welcome sight. It's easy in and out.  Has electric and water, no sewer but the pump-out has easy access on the way out. (Although it's on a little incline.)  The biggest drawback is the highway noise. Fairly good Wi-Fi but it comes in and out. Sites are fairly level and grassy.   Stone Ridge Golf Course is 13 miles away and is a nice course in good condition. Food at the golf course restaurant was also good. Would stay here again especially if space were available away from the road, or motorhome windows were closed.  We camped at Serpent River Campground in a Motorhome.

Okay as a stop over, easy in and out! Few sites that are 60+ ft. Didn't use the pool but it looked dirty. We could smell garbage constantly... It was overflowing and never was emptied! Owners weren't overly friendly! One channel on the aerial... No cable. Go to 'Clarences Fish Market' up the road ( Hwy 17) towards Algoma Mills. Best smoked trout we've ever had! I agree with previous reviews. This is a decent older campground along side the Trans Canada Highway. Our grass site was level and roomy, the rest rooms are spotless. The staff is friendly and helpful and there is a "chip truck" on site serving fries and other food. The noise from the highway is a presence, but not terrible. We stayed here for one night en route west. And the Wi-Fi worked well. If you like to watch TV in your rig, you'll need a sat dish. There's no cable TV and no on air reception. We camped at Serpent River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

It is an older park but well kept. The owner is friendly and there is free wifi. As mentioned previously, the trans Canada Highway is very noisy. However, this is a good overnight stop as there is nothing else in the vicinity that you would want to stay at. We camped at Serpent River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Campground is right on busy Highway 17 with full view and noise of the trucks and cross Canada transports, but at the same time convenient for many overnighters. Higher rating than I would give is due to the extremely nice and helpful owner. She goes out of her way to accommodate. Bathrooms and showers are dated and limited, especially when they knock down one of the only 2 shower stalls on both sides for "maintenance", but they are clean and well stocked. Laundry facilities are average, but usable. Elliot Lake area is nothing special and 20 miles away, but has some really nice canoeing lakes and is the closest place to grocery stores, so come prepared with supplies. Very large grassy pull throughs were appreciated. Seasonal people are set up on the sides and in the back, though would not want to be on the back side due to the train track that intersect the whole park and is closest to the back. Whole "bus is a shaking" when that thing rolls through! Only heard the train go through once in the 2 nights we were there, however. River is nothing special, but does have a boat launch and is nice for the small boat fishing set up. Free WI-FI very appreciated. We camped at Serpent River Campground in a Motorhome.
