When we registered, the staff informed us that half the campground had lost power due to a blown transformer. But lucky for us, our side still had power. There is no sign to tell you where to park and of course our rig was not in the right place, so to get to our site it took a circuitous route on one way streets. It appears that most of the campers are seasonal with only 10 or 15% of the sites for overnighters. Our site was a gravel fairly level pull-through with grass between the adjacent sites. It had electric (no breaker) and water only. There was a dump station near the main road exit. No problem with either the water or electric. I found 2 channels of OTA TV. The Wi-Fi was pretty useless. Most of the time I wasn't able to connect with the internet at all and when I did it was extremely slow. The garbage and recycles have to be taken over to the parking lot in the back of the park. This place is good for a day or two, but I wouldn't stay any longer than that. There isn't much choice to stay in the area, so I might come back here again if ever back this way. We camped at Mine Mill Local 598/Unifor Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a pretty basic campground. The trailers and RVs are close to each other with no trees at all between sites or near sites. Upkeep isn't high on the list of this campground's priorities because the grass needed mowing and there could definitely be more trees, flowers, scrubs, or some sort of landscapping to make it look nicer. It seems to be run by a union and there is a building on the grounds that says it is for retired members of that union. There is a beach area on the lake but it is nothing special. The view of the lake is blocked somewhat by all the campers and by the slight hill that separates the park from the lake. This campground just needs some work to make it look more inviting and relaxing. It actually reminded me of the car area of an old drive-in movie lot. Tips for other Campers:

There's another campground right next door to this campground. It looked like it might have a few trees for shade, but I couldn't tell if it was kept up any better. You might want to check it out and see.

Price is $40 CAD - current exchange rate is 1.3 USD to 1 CAD. Approximately 85% seasonal campers. Most of them are in good condition. Transient sites are spaced apart, in an open area. No cable, 2 OTA TV channels. Verizon cell service is marginal, WiFi signal is strong but it drops out frequently. Full hook-up, no caps for the sewer lines, and 30 Amp electric only. An acceptable place to recharge, restock and rest up before heading out again. Big rig friendly. Sudbury is a big town, with lots of traffic. We camped at Mine Mill Local 598/Unifor Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The park has a number of permanent units in various states of upkeep. Unfortunately the spring had been a wet one and the road in and sites had pooled water throughout. We were unable to use the sewer hookup as the water level was to the point that the sewer pipe was full to the top of the outlet. We used a working sewer dump on the way out. Water and electrical worked fine, and both were of good quality. Our one night stay was pleasant enough, the park was quiet at night. situated only minutes from Highway, but address shares a common entry with campground next door - make sure you take the right hand entry to get the GOOD rv park. Check-in is seamless and helpful, park is fairly quiet. A lot of seasonals/permanents so park is a bit like a war zone, although mgmt is trying hard to tidy it up. sites are gravel and grass but fairly muddy if it rans, which it did whike we were there, so getting to restrooms or laundry was a bit of a challenge. Strong wi-fi, poor tv reception. We camped at Mine Mill Local 598/Unifor Campground in a Motorhome.

Fortunately, we were only driving through and our stay was only overnight. Check in was easy and the clerk was friendly and helpful, although her directions to get to our assigned site were off target.

Earlier reviews are on target. Mostly seasonal campers with varying degrees of upkeep.

When entering the campground, you are presented with almost a common entrance with the next door campground. We didn't know which to take so we just turned right and that is how we ended up in this campground.

After talking to other campers, we apparently made the right choice as their experience was anything but good.

There is a resident flock of geese that leave droppings everywhere, which requires thorough cleaning of your shoes every time you venture out of the RV.

Water hook up was a test, as the hose had broken away from the wooden post that supported it.

If passing through this area again, we would not stay here again. We camped at Mine Mill Local 598/Unifor Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The nearby mining and smelting operations are worth visiting according to some neighbors, but in our estimation they are not worth having to stay in this campground another night.

This is a campground full of seasonal people from Sudbury, which is not a bad thing but definitely not what this visitor wants. The place looks more like a civil war encampment than a campground. Everyone has permanent (and not particularly aesthetically pleasing) structures and there some VERY old units. The grounds are marginal without trees and when it rains it is just mud. There is no sewer hook up and only 30 amp. Unfortunately the only campground which is close to the city is next door and it is not much better. Personally, if I didn't have relatives in the city I would bypass this city all together. YUCK!! We camped at Mine Mill Local 598/Unifor Campground in a Motorhome.

Located 7-8 minutes away from shopping and located 2 miles south of the junction of 17 and 69. New owners in the past year and they are working hard to make this a really nice place. Very accommodating and friendly. They were finishing up with the installation of a new dump station and because it wasn't going to be operative for a few hours, the owner came over and pumped me out an no charge. I could have waited but he insisted. The sites are grass and long enough for big rigs but probably need to be rolled to smooth out some of the bumpiness. Some tree work is needed also. New high speed Wi-Fi was being installed while we were here. I would stay here again and would expect it its rating to increase after the improvements. We camped at Mine Mill Local 598/Unifor Campground in a Motorhome.
