So we have stayed here over 1/2 dozen times in the past 15 years or so. We read a lot of negative stuff about the way the CG was run recently. Honestly, we had none of that negativity. We even had our radio going (very low volume) before 10:30pm with no complaints. Our biggest complaint; their 'attitude' to customers is curt & bordering on rude, we emailed in February to book well ahead for an August trip. Advised them we were camping with friends & wanted a buddy site - or at least close to each other. We were assured their newer section could accommodate both our large rigs & we would be 'just across from each other'. However, it turned out, they put our friends behind us & behind the row of trees on our site (and the site size is deceiving, as it continues another 20 feet or so behind that tree line), rather than "just across". Furthermore the site we had was HUGE (no complaint) but would have been nicer without the trees dividing it in half (perhaps they intended it to be 2 sites). The site was large enough BOTH of our rigs could have parked & they didn't bother to let us know this. The site - as all sites we have found so far there - was very very un-level. So much so we couldn't properly dump our tanks. The dump station is on the way out just before the recreation hall, on the WRONG side of the road (so we would have had to have 40 ft of hose to dump there) & its a 1.5 lane road so we would have been blocking all all traffic. The tree branches on site were so low they knocked off our vent cap and tangled up in the antenna. All in all we would still go back, & I would book that site as its the nicest (imho) in the park. However, I do wish they would be more customer friendly (i.e., they don't answer the phone, they check it every once and a while and then return the messages - so when the bear showed up in the tent area - the campers were panicking trying to figure out who to call), And level their sites. large wood bag & 1 fire starter - $10.00. We camped at Tobermory Village Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

It was pretty empty when we were there but looked like it might be a great place when filled with kids. Petting zoo, pedal boats, and a couple other diversions available. For us though, it was the buggiest campsite we'd ever stayed in (perhaps because of the petting zoo?) and we were put in a tiny pull-through site despite most of the park being empty. The pull through site was essentially a mud pathway and recent rain made it entirely unusable for us. Hookups were buried in the bushes a bit, so we had to push our way through spiderwebs, leaves, and bugs to get hooked up. As is too often the case, the sewer connection stuck out of the ground quite a few inches, so it made for an uphill run with my hose. I hate that. Very VERY expensive laundry service. We camped at Tobermory Village Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Tobermory is a tiny but pretty town. Make sure you hike the local parks, but don't bother with the grotto unless you're WAY off season. We were there in early June and it was already overrun. Just up the road from the campground there's a gas station (Hoppy's I think it was called) which has perfectly placed air hoses and propane fill stations... it's an RVers dream for a quick maintenance stop.

Overall Rating:

We stayed for about a week. The campground is spotless. The dog kennels could be improved - for example they are no longer on grass as advertised but concrete stones, and there is no cover for rain (our dogs were soaked as we couldn't get back in time to avoid the sudden rain). Dog kenneling prices are good and they will keep them til 8pm which is nice. Our site was ok - treed, but not level. It was easy to pull in -however, very tight exiting (the forward road was quite narrow). The rest of the roads in the park are easily travelled with a big rig. The site we had backed on to one of the parks main thoroughfares, so we were inundated with dust day in and day out - traffic, people, bikes etc constantly walking behind our RV (past our 'living room' window), made it noisy and dusty. Watering the road down would reduce the dust considerably. The exercise area, ponds, roaming ducks, restrooms, and petting zoo are all wonderfully cared for. There wasn't really any hiking or walking trails that we found to walk the dogs etc. For those that use it - the pool area and splash pad is clean and well maintained. There's a giant dumping bucket for the splash pad. There are carts to rent - very popular with the kids, and giant duck and swan paddle boats. There is a strict quiet time after 10pm which really makes it enjoyable in the evenings. They charge a 10.00 reservation fee if you reserve by phone - none by web. We paid 8.00 additional /night for a 3rd adult (no children however). We walked around the CG and simply picked better suited sites for our rig and preferences for next year - as we are definitely coming back. All in All a beautiful campground well run, clean, and lovingly maintained. We will continue returning. We camped at Tobermory Village Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here seven years ago, and the review I submitted then is still pretty much valid. "Very clean and fairly new facilities. Friendly staff who always seemed to be busy with something - hence very well maintained. Some pull-throughs, bit tight access because of nearby trees. Lots of shade sites, and some open sites for satellite access. Overall, this was a very nice park with convenient access to the Bruce Peninsula National Park and town nearby. We would definitely stay here again." The major change since 2007 is the price. Last time, the price was $36 per night. Now it is $50. That seems to be bit much of an increase. Next time, we will try some of the other places in the area, some of which are new. On top of the basic high price, everything else is added cost. Their laundry was very inefficient and expensive. We spent $20 for four loads and even then, the dryers did not work adequately. In our ten years of full-time RVing, this is among the most expensive and inefficient laundries we have used. We camped at Tobermory Village Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice well maintained campground. I'm sitting in the clubhouse as I'm writing this and they have a religious show on the TV and the walls are decorated in religious sayings. It feels a bit like a Bible Camp. Which is okay as long as they don't come around knocking on my RV door. It's close to town, people are very nice. We camped at Tobermory Village Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice wooded sites. Some might find them a little tight. Sandy soil lets things settle in a bit. Excellent access to the parks and tours. We'd go back when at the tip of The Bruce. We camped at Tobermory Village Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Great large gated park, lots of activities for the kids: a petting zoo, W

wagon rides, a pool and splash pad. Cabins are for rent as well. The store has essentials, they will deliver your fire wood to your spot. Staff is pleasant and friendly. It's a five minute drive from Tobermory. There is a golf course across the highway. We camped at Tobermory Village Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We were very impressed with the campground and would stay here again. The staff is very nice and helpful, very efficient. They had a sale on good quality campground T-Shirts which was a nice touch. The grounds are very well maintained, the pond and boats are a good attractions. We also liked the pool. We camped at Tobermory Village Campground in a Motorhome.

Great super clean campground. Kids loved the playground, pool and petting zoo. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They enforce quiet hour - we loved it! The roads are gravel, we hade a nice grassy site with trees. You can go online in their store but no wifi. Perfect location for all local attractions. Great doggy day care service! We camped here in a motorhome and would stay here again in a heart beat. We camped at Tobermory Village Campground in a Motorhome.

Very rude staff, campground is not as portrayed on their web site, dog kennel was a muddy cage under a tree, we stayed one night then paid $10.00 per day cancelation fee ($70.00) just to get away. We camped at Tobermory Village Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very large campground with great open spaces for walking, exercising pets etc., but the few large rig transient sites are much too close together given all the space that's available in the park. Having said that, the park is well maintained and looked after and is very conveniently located relative to all the attractions in the Tobermory area. We looked at a couple of other campgrounds while in the area and don't hesitate to recommend this one as the best in the area. We camped at Tobermory Village Campground in a Motorhome.
