Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

The price indicated is in Cdn $. This is a very large campground occupied by mainly seasonal guests. There are, however, approximately 80 assorted sites for short-term guests.
On arrival the check-in was easy and we were given an escort to our site. This was about the only interaction we had with staff during our week-long stay. We had a site that was just long enough for our truck and 40' fifth wheel trailer. The site was a mix of gravel and dirt with a narrow patch of grass separating us from our neighbours on both sides. On our door side we had a very uneven brick patio area with weeds growing through and a picnic bench. Towards the front end of the site we had a fire pit. The sewer, 50 amp power and water utilities were conveniently located for where the layout of our RV has them located. The utilities also worked very well despite the huge draw on power caused by the excessive heat and people having to use their AC most of the time. The site itself had quite a slope from front to rear and a slight slope from side to side which I was able to handle thanks to the orange blocks and the hydraulic levelling system on my rig. Other than the bathrooms and laundry ($3 to wash) we did not use other guest facilities such as the pool. The bathrooms were always clean during our visit despite never seeing them closed for service. Wi-fi is included in the price and varied in ability. One thing to note here; every time you either log off or shut down the computer for a few minutes you then had to log back in using the user id and code provided. Despite the number of people and it also being over the Canadian and US major holiday dates this campground was very quiet. This is a long drive from Toronto and not an ideal location if you're using that as a base to see the city or visit family and friends living there. With that said, it is one of the better RV campgrounds in the area and I would consider staying here again. We camped at Green Acre Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit St Jacobs Farmers Market. The best days are Thursday and Saturday. Also open on a Tuesday but that's when they're selling off the produce left over from the Saturday - according to the locals. Grocery shopping within a couple of miles from the CG (Sobeys)

We love Green Acres. We have been going back once a year for 3 years. This year we are booked twice already. We enjoy the pool, hot tub, going to the market or just sitting by the pond with our dogs. It is a place you will enjoy. We even went in October. We camped at Green Acre Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a lovely park, wish the weather had been better! Sites were gravel and level. There is Wifi, but it was weak. Close to St. Jacobs. We phoned ahead, received email confirmation. Very efficient. We camped at Green Acre Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

I stayed at the campground for three days starting Thursday Sept. 7, 2017. Our friends picked this campground and I must admit an amount of trepidation about any campground with a cute name. On my arrival I found the staff very friendly and helpful. One of them lead us to our site in a camp golf cart. The only negative was the no sewer site. We were in site 318 and our friends were in 317. 318 is directly across from the pond and on a large end site. The site was clean, level and well equipped with a fire ring and nice picnic table. The view was great. The campground is very large with mostly seasonal sites but our area was all for transient campers and was really great. There were lots of geese, heron and swifts. We could hear coyotes at night off in the distance, but considering how close this campground is to the city, it was remarkable for being quiet. Overall a really good campground. We will return. We camped at Green Acre Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed with a 43' motorhome and found everything very tight. The only pull throughs with 50 amp had no sewer. Although there was a dump station, we were unable to get to it due to a parked vehicle at a park model on the turn to the dump station. We were guided to our site by a young girl who had no idea how to guide a big rig. We had to drop the toad and change sites in order to squeeze in. Would not recommend for anything larger than 35'. No interaction with guests after check in; no garbage pick up at site. Would not repeat the experience. Had to physically remove a pole from the ground to make the turn to get out. We camped at Green Acre Park in a Motorhome.

Green Acre Park, at Green Acre Park responded to this review

Hi Rob and Karla,

We are very sorry you had a less than pleasant experience with us during your stay.

Site 313 is one of the 3 50 amp sites we have that does not have a sewer connection. Our 22 sites with 50 amp service are in high demand, as are the large pull-through sites and they usually get booked up first. We recommend booking at least 1 month in advance for a 50amp full hookup site.

We're sorry that you couldn't access the dump station. If we had known there was an issue at the time we would have dealt with it so that you could have dumped your tanks.

Thank you for pointing out where we need to improve our staff training. We will be reviewing our training procedures.

We do hope that you visit us again and book one of our large pull through site. We are sure you'll find things more to your liking.

First time we have stayed here and we will be delighted to come back again. We had a full service site and when we had a problem with the power supply the staff were there within 5 minutes to resolve it. For such a busy park it was quiet and peaceful, especially after dark. A great base for exploring this beautiful region. We camped at Green Acre Park in a Travel Trailer.

This was our second time staying here. Because of the U.S.-Canadian exchange rate, it was a better deal this year. Overall, this is a good park. Clean, relatively quiet with plenty of activities for campers. The park is mainly comprised of seasonal-long term park models with approx. 85 transit sites. The utility infrastructure works well - sometimes the power voltages drop below 109V. The sites do require some leveling. My complaint is the office staff. They were primarily comprised of young people with fair-poor customer service skills. They were not very helpful when I asked to relocate to a full hookup site and unable to make a decision on their own. I prepaid to have firewood delivered and they forgot to make the delivery. It took 2 phone calls to have it delivered. We camped at Green Acre Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

They charge a $8.50 online reservation fee, $10 over the phone. When making online reservations, you can request a specific site - ensure you verify that it has the hookups you require. On Thurs/Sat, local farmer's market offers huge selection.

This is a very large facility with 365 seasonal sites as well as 100 transient sites. Access for any size rig is excellent. The park Wi-Fi signal was very good at our site (329). Their laundry is clean and good. Quite a few apparently full-timers are now staged here waiting to make the dash southerly. This is one of the few Ontario campgrounds open after Canadian Thanksgiving. We have stayed here before and will probably stay here again. We camped at Green Acre Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very large facility with 365 seasonal sites as well as 100 transient sites. The transient sites have pretty good satellite access and the park Wi-Fi signal was very good, at least at our site (329). Their laundry is large, clean, and inexpensive. Our price reflects a one week discount. The location is very convenient to Waterloo and St Jacob's Market. Overall, this is a very nice park, kept from being a 10 only by the large number of seasonal campers. We will probably stay here again. We camped at Green Acre Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is absolutely fantastic. Cleanest washrooms we have ever seen and music too. There are beautiful flowers and a well maintained mini golf. We also enjoyed the community center and library. They have outdoor movies with popcorn, too. Excellent area information and very pleasant staff in the office/store. They were very helpful when inquired about site purchase. Site was nice size. Park is close to St. Jacobs market. We have stayed here 3 times now and plan to return. This park has a high standard level that others should try to strive for. Very impressed.
