Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful, quiet, out of the way County Park that is well maintained. There is only electric at the sites which are all extra large. There are water pumps spaced throughout the park but no sewer dump. The river is steps away down a small incline. A very popular activity is fishing for crawdads or floating in the shallow river. It is located about 35 miles from the 101 on the coast, but the road is very winding. The entrance from I5 is also a long, curvy road but we were able to navigate it with a 39 ft fifth wheel. There was no Verizon or Sprint service in the park but limited service was available in Alsea about 8 miles away. We came for eclipse viewing and the park was not full. We would stay again as the park was beautiful, but it's remote location and limited activities make it more of a park for total relaxation only. We camped at Salmonberry RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a small service station with gas and diesel in Alsea as well as a restaurant and small grocery. Alsea Falls is a beautiful side trip with miles of dog friendly hiking trails available. Eugene was 90 minutes away(would not recommend Alpine Road for towing larger rigs as some one lane sections) and had a Farmer's Market which not only had great produce but great people watching.
