The only issue we had with the park was the thorns from the weeds. They are everywhere and they're working on it. Several got in our dogs feet and they were tough to get out and painful. It's still a great place. We camped at Emigrant Lake - The Point RV Park in a Motorhome.

One of our favorite places on a recent trip. Beautiful, spread-out park with rolling hills and a lake. Does not feel like a parking lot for RVs, like private parks. There is a park manager on site. The restrooms are bare bones, but clean and free.

Try to get site 22 as there is a view of the lake. Site 21 has an unobstructed view of the lake but might be a little tighter for a long rig. We camped at Emigrant Lake - The Point RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice quiet park with good 50 amps and level sites. I suggest unhooking your towed vehicle before entering the RV Park as the road is tight and unlevel. Most sites are back-in. This time of year the lake is very low but it is still very pretty. It is very busy so you need a reservation. We camped at Emigrant Lake - The Point RV Park in a Motorhome.

First visit to this wonderful campground/RV Park on Emigrant Lake. We lucked out and got one of the best spaces in the park, space #22 right down at the water. This park is run by Jackson County and features a camp host on site as well as being patrolled on a regular basis by Jackson County Rangers.

First off the pros:

*Easy to find, easy to get into and out of.

*Very clean park with up to date hookups and level sites. We were level and only put the jack down to "steady" the coach.

*Spaces are well spaced so you aren't right on top of your neighbors.

*Very, very quiet at night due to location

*Separate shower rooms, nicely set up.

*Every space has view of the lake below

*Camp hosts were efficient and quick to respond when needed.

Now for the cons: (only one)

*the areas around the spaces are full of little prickly sticker weeds that get into your pants, socks and onto you pets very easily. Would have rated this park a "10" had it not been for that.

We enjoyed our stay very much and have put this park on our list of definite return to parks. The lake itself was low but still nice to sit and and watch the rowing teams and various boaters. The breeze does blow early in the morning and later in the day as the sun goes down but it is nothing to be concerned in our opinion. Great weather in Sept. warm days and cool nights. Absolute quietest RV park we have ever stayed at, bar none................ We camped at Emigrant Lake - The Point RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Ashland is just 5 miles away. The historic town of Jacksonville is within a half hours drive and is a delightful little town. If you like Mexican Food we highly recommend a stop at El Paraiso located at 545 Clover Lane, right at the #14 Ashland exit leading to the park. Best Mexican food we have ever eaten and the Margaritas were also excellent as were the chips and salsa. Many good eateries in the area so you won't have any trouble finding good food while there.

A beautiful County campground outside of Ashland. It is a great value, but low on amenities. There is no grass, just mostly dirt and stickers around the pad. This time of year the lake is very low, but it is very pretty. It's a quiet spot, about 5 miles from interstate 5. We suggest unhooking your car prior to arriving at the campsite, as there is no level spot once inside the tight park. We camped at Emigrant Lake - The Point RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park is fantastic. We stayed here for four nights. The view from almost all of the sites is great (of the lake), full hookups, the remainder of the park is great for boating or fishing. T-Mobile and Verizon were both strong here. The park is about 5 minutes away from town. We camped at Emigrant Lake - The Point RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful spot, stayed 2 nights, right on the water. Places to hike, swimming in the lake was very nice, pet friendly. Ashland was a fun town to explore and had nice restaurants and a farmers market. We will come here again! We camped at Emigrant Lake - The Point RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed here several times. Campground fairly new and all utilities very good. Not much shade so rooftop satellites very good. All sites have picnic table and fire ring. Terraced so all sites have great view of lake. This lake is seasonal so depth varies, but some sites are within 25 feet or so of water if lake is high. Very good paved roads and sites. We camped at Emigrant Lake - The Point RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice RV park. Most sites overlook Immigrant Lake with beautiful views. All sites are asphalt paved and fairly level. Most are an easy back in although a few are pull through. The RV park is adjacent to a water park with water slides, a pool and a beach. The water slides were supposed to be open while we were there, but no one was around and so I can't comment on them. There are trees and some shade, but not much yet; in a few years there should be plenty of shade. It was hot while we were there but in the evening there was a very nice cooling breeze. At times it was almost too breezy and we took our awning down. There is another area in the campground where you can park your RV as well as tent camp, but they have no hookups. On weekends it can be noisy on the Lake during the day with various powerboats, but it was very quiet in the evening and on weekdays it was always very quiet. One drawback of this RV park: they have one very well kept and clean bathroom and shower facility. It is a fair walk if you're in one of the sites located near the entrance. The showers were free, at least while we were there. We would recommend this site if you're planning to be in the Ashland area. We camped at Emigrant Lake - The Point RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There are numerous things to do in Ashland. Of course, there is the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. They do plays throughout the year and a number are not Shakespeare. There are other venues in town that do theatre. Check out the Oregon Cabaret; they do musicals and other plays as well as having a dinner set up. Take a walk in Lithia Park; very beautiful.

This is the best campground we have found for a visit to Ashland. Just a short drive into town. We stayed here during an Airstream rally. We were in site #18 and our curbside and picnic area were right on the lake - beautiful setting. Excellent privacy given the way the sites are laid out. Not too many trees and mostly sunny.

The facilities were well maintained. Great Verizon and ATT reception, no T-Mobile. Campfires are allowed, at least this time of year. It does get hot and dry here later in the summer.

Nice hiking around the lake but be aware there is poison oak and there are rattle snakes.

We stay here every year at this time to attend the suberb plays produced by the Oregon Shakespeare Theater. We camped at Emigrant Lake - The Point RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We camp in a "Tear Drop style RV" only 15' long w/o toilet or shower and thus rely on campgrounds facilities ~ so our critique is focused in that area. All PROS - no CONS, just a perfect setting for a public campground without the crowding and commercialism of the private campgrounds you normally find at the KOA's or Good Sam's. The best thing is, this Jackson County public facility has full hookups, asphalt pads, sturdy well maintained picnic tables with fire ring + a newer more modern bathhouse with hot showers that are full on ceramic tiled walls ~ individual private rooms with locking doors. There is a soap dish, hooks for your stuff and a bench in each room ~ wear your clogs. You have to enter another door in same building for the restrooms and sinks [wish they had hooks and shelves in there for your stuff]. The grounds are kept neat and tidy ~and~ you have a view of the lake from every site. Best campsites are in "The Point" campground #'s 12 thru 20 are excellent, but really there's no "bad" site. Also - registered campers do NOT pay the $4.00 entrance fee ~ it's included with your stay. Wish they had better signage directing you to "The Point" ~ as you enter the main part of the park, there is a sign with an arrow, but it is for a different campground; you have to continue straight on the main road to reach "The Point". When / if traveling through southern Oregon, we wouldn't hesitate to stop here again ~ but strongly suggest making a reservation as it's quite popular. We camped at Emigrant Lake - The Point RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Not much has changed since our stay in December. Except for the water level in the lake. It looks so much better now.
As for the camping experience it's still an excellent getaway from the I-5 with paved sites and full hookups. Quiet and lots of privacy this time of the year. Only two other campers around.

One of our 'must stay' parks on the way south. Just five miles from the I-5 this park offers a great getaway from the travelling routine. Paved and level sites with hookups in good order. Very quiet and nice views. Unfortunately the lake is almost nonexistent by now. We hope for some rain and snow.
Verizon signal was good. Gas station right at the freeway and grocery stores in town.
