Very nice park with good beach access. Looked like some upgrades had been done to paths and asphalt parking pads at each site. Hedges had been pruned severely so less privacy than before pruning but not a big issue. Would avoid spaces around playground unless you have children. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This was another great state park to stay in. We weren't fortunate enough to land one of the first dozen or so sites with ocean views, but we still enjoyed our stay here. Backing into our site was a little tricky as the road is rather narrow and the tow vehicle across the way was parked in such a manner that made it difficult. With a little work we were able to get settled. Shrubs between each site seem to provide privacy despite everyone actually being quite close. We were in loop D, which is closer to the road, but didn't seem to notice any significant road noise. As others have stated, beach access is down a steep incline but seemed to have ample parking each time we went down. The beach is great! There were some tide pools a little ways off on the right-hand side that we spent a lot of time exploring one day. There is a really cool nature trail that winds through the campground. Great way to go 'exploring' yet never really leave the campground. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park in beautiful setting. Close to town. Some sites can be tight to get bigger rig into. Noise from lumber plant across highway disturbs the serenity. Would stay here again. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a really nice state park by the beach. It is on a hill and the walk to the beach is a bit long and uphill on the return, but you can easily drive to the day use area. The campground was very clean and exceptionally well kept. The restroom was bright and clean as was the shower room. The showers are all tile with a small stool and several hooks in the separate stalls with a long bench in the open area. There was plenty of hot water and good pressure although the shower heads are rather low. At 5' 6" I could barely get my head under without stooping. That's being picky, though. All in all the facilities are very good. The sites are a combo of FHU and W & E. Most are big enough for normal sized rigs, although big rigs with tow vehicles might their choice limited. There are many garbage cans very conveniently places as well which I really appreciate. There is also a dump station that is easily accessible. Most of the sites have decent separation and many have enough vegetation in between to give quite a bit of privacy. There is a line of sites right in front that actually have a great view of the ocean. I would assume you have to reserve well in advance to snag one of those primo spots! There is no wi-fi, but we got adequate coverage on Verizon to use data. No T-Mobile though. The D loop is quite close to Rte 101 though and seemed to get a lot of road noise. I would avoid that one if possible. Otherwise, it's just a really nice place to stay and I am sure we will be back. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Truck Camper.

Very nice park. Lots of trees, but we were able to get satellite coverage. All utilities worked well. Private with shrub between sites. So nice to have FHU at a State Park. We were in a site that was more of a 90 degree angle to park in and had to work at it, but most sites are angled. Would definitely stay here again. Could not get a signal for Verizon or AT&T. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Have stayed here several times. Great location for viewing whales and great for beaches and hikes. The RV and tent sites are very nice and ours have always been clean. There is lots to do in the area. Beautiful forest, beaches and redwood hikes nearby. Great for salmon fishing but check the season. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

One of the most beautiful campgrounds we've stayed at in 4 years. The trees, shrubs, natural landscape beautiful. If I had a site facing the ocean, i'd Rate this a 10. Full hookups. We picked a site that allowed us to use our satellite. Downside is the sites seem a little short. We backed into our site and had to park TV across the front of our 28 ft trailer. Lots of sites closed off for upgrades. Didn't go down to beach but looks beautiful. Verizon worked well. Would definitely return and stay a few days. Another wonderful Oregon State Park. This one sits on the bluff, above the Pacific Ocean. It's a bit of a hike down to the beach, but well worth it. They were putting in upgraded power hookups, so at least 1/3 of the park was closed. They should be done by summer of 2018. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We have been here before, and will be back as it has the most beautiful beach to see, and walk. Campground was crowded, as two loops where closed for upgrades. The visit this time had questionable campers show up later at night, but where quiet. I'm a adventurous camper, but something is a miss, and hope not for the worst. My site was level, good cell, a little highway noise this site. I will watch for other reviews of my thoughts, and would return. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Visit the harbor for farmers market on Saturday's. Stop at Bakery by the Sea. It had a line down the hallway, small, but knew I hit a gem.

We stayed here in a 24' travel trailer for 5 days. It is a nice, clean park with great access to the Oregon coast. There is a nice bike path that leads to town. We enjoyed some good surf perch fishing on the beach and crabbing from the docks in Brookings and Gold Beach. There are good restaurants in the area. Overall Rating:

Oregon State Parks are consistently the best, and all things considered, this may be the best of all. Paved access roads and sites, a variety of sites (all back ins) reasonable privacy and size between spaces, and a large number of full hookup sites, including 50A. Many improvements being made by the active staff. Great nightly programs and wonderful Junior Ranger program for the kids. A variety of wooded trails lead to the beach, through the woods, and to an overlook. Difficult for TV satellites due to trees and very limited OTA. Verizon Cell/data was strong. The park simply has everything - and the price is amazing. Full every night from early June through the summer, so make a reservation in advance. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Brookings has a variety of shopping and good restaurants. Try the Black Trumpet Bistro and Superfly for interesting menu items. The Fred Meyer store is huge and always crowded. Lots of interesting places to stop along Hwy 101 to the north. Don't miss Arch Rock (13 miles).

This is a typical Oregon State Park with very nice sites, personal and services. Very close to a city (Brookings) and highway (101) but quiet and easy access to a great beach/sunsets. All the paid employees and volunteer camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. Couldn't get the cable TV hookup to work however it may have been operator error. Had some over the air channels though. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Full hookups, W & E hookups and some sites with cable, hiker-bike camp and a number of year round yurts. This park lived up to its reviews. Beautiful park with a variety of sites. There are some sites with a great ocean view and others back in among the trees with more privacy and shade. These paved sites have a picnic table and firepit. Bathhouses are clean with nice showers. Trash bins all around the park. Dump station near the entrance. Firewood for sale at the host sites. One playground in the park. Hikes to the beaches and a day use section that is stunning with two beaches looking out to the rocky coast. Dogs are allowed on the beaches on leash. Close to Brookings for shopping. Flowers have been planted all around the park and sites. A great place to camp. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you need repairs on your RV, we recommend Brookings Harbor RV Repairs right on route 101. We had to replace our Antenna and they were very reasonable, personable and great to work with. Brookings is also where most of the Easter Lilies are grown in the country.

This could be our favorite Oregon coast state park. We did a one night stay here in February when we took the coastal route back from a California trip. You do not need reservations this time of year. This is on the ocean with lots of trees. Loops and sites are paved. Sites have varying degrees of levelness. We stayed in site C15. It slanted slightly from front to back, but it was good enough for us where we did not have to level ourselves. Tall thick shrubs were on both sides of us. If the adjacent sites were occupied, the tops of the other rigs would be in view. If you look at the campground map for sites D18 to D27 that is the side of the campground US-101 is on. The following seem to be prime sites with ocean view and cable: A18, A20, A21, A22, A23, A25, C1. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

One of our favorite state parks on the Oregon Coast. Since our last stay here, they have done major tree trimming and brush removal which allows for more views of the ocean. This is a tremendous improvement for the overall character of the park. I would have given a 10 rating if there were sewer hook ups. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Motorhome.
