This is a typical Oregon State Park with very nice sites, personal and services. Very close to a city (Brookings) and highway (101) but quiet and easy access to a great beach/sunsets. All the paid employees and volunteer camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. Couldn't get the cable TV hookup to work however it may have been operator error. Had some over the air channels though. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Oregon State Parks are consistently the best, and all things considered, this may be the best of all. Paved access roads and sites, a variety of sites (all back ins) reasonable privacy and size between spaces, and a large number of full hookup sites, including 50A. Many improvements being made by the active staff. Great nightly programs and wonderful Junior Ranger program for the kids. A variety of wooded trails lead to the beach, through the woods, and to an overlook. Difficult for TV satellites due to trees and very limited OTA. Verizon Cell/data was strong. The park simply has everything - and the price is amazing. Full every night from early June through the summer, so make a reservation in advance. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Brookings has a variety of shopping and good restaurants. Try the Black Trumpet Bistro and Superfly for interesting menu items. The Fred Meyer store is huge and always crowded. Lots of interesting places to stop along Hwy 101 to the north. Don't miss Arch Rock (13 miles).

Full hookups, W & E hookups and some sites with cable, hiker-bike camp and a number of year round yurts. This park lived up to its reviews. Beautiful park with a variety of sites. There are some sites with a great ocean view and others back in among the trees with more privacy and shade. These paved sites have a picnic table and firepit. Bathhouses are clean with nice showers. Trash bins all around the park. Dump station near the entrance. Firewood for sale at the host sites. One playground in the park. Hikes to the beaches and a day use section that is stunning with two beaches looking out to the rocky coast. Dogs are allowed on the beaches on leash. Close to Brookings for shopping. Flowers have been planted all around the park and sites. A great place to camp. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you need repairs on your RV, we recommend Brookings Harbor RV Repairs right on route 101. We had to replace our Antenna and they were very reasonable, personable and great to work with. Brookings is also where most of the Easter Lilies are grown in the country.

This could be our favorite Oregon coast state park. We did a one night stay here in February when we took the coastal route back from a California trip. You do not need reservations this time of year. This is on the ocean with lots of trees. Loops and sites are paved. Sites have varying degrees of levelness. We stayed in site C15. It slanted slightly from front to back, but it was good enough for us where we did not have to level ourselves. Tall thick shrubs were on both sides of us. If the adjacent sites were occupied, the tops of the other rigs would be in view. If you look at the campground map for sites D18 to D27 that is the side of the campground US-101 is on. The following seem to be prime sites with ocean view and cable: A18, A20, A21, A22, A23, A25, C1. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a larger park than others along the Oregon coast. It sits on a cliff, so you walk quarter mile down to the beach, which is rocky and has limited space. There are wonderful sites along the face of the cliff that have a full ocean view, but those were taken and I think you have to be lucky (or reserve) to get those. Our space was quite large and big hedge for privacy. A short walk to a very clean restroom with showers. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

One of our favorite state parks on the Oregon Coast. Since our last stay here, they have done major tree trimming and brush removal which allows for more views of the ocean. This is a tremendous improvement for the overall character of the park. I would have given a 10 rating if there were sewer hook ups. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

A really pretty, smaller OR state park. There are several loops, but we stayed in the A loop for the size of the sites, privacy between sites, and big rig accessibility. Our site (A35) was on a corner and it was easiest the largest lot we have stayed at in the past year! Several sites in A overlooked the ocean, but backed next to a road, so there will be traffic. Two different beach sections are within walking distance, and both are just plain gorgeous! We preferred the south beach since it was less crowded, longer (but still on the short side), with dramatic views of the rocks and ocean. A view you could never get tired of. The park is near the highway, so you do get road noise, although it's not terrible. Decent Verizon coverage, but no sattelite reception at our site. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

One of our favorite stops on the Oregon Coast. Take a day trip to Jedediah Smith Redwood State park in Ca and visit Cresent City. If you like sushi, Pacific Sushi in Brookings is very good.

This is a pleasant park. Because of its popularity, and mild summer weather, early reservations are necessary. Choose the site carefully. We look for full hookups and some privacy. D Loop has 12 full hookup sites, but is the least private section. Its nearness to the highway did not cause a noise problem.

The 5 C Loop full sites look okay.

A loop has no full sites, but several cable tv ones. (From D20, we received 26 channels over the air.)

Most attractive are B Loop sites.

There are plenty of trash cans, a number of aluminum can recycle spots, but only one general recycle place in the whole park. There are several nice walks, a good view of the ocean, and a short, but steep road to beach parking and picnic area. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Excellent State Park. Sites are level, bathrooms and showers both kept very clean. Sites are good size. Hedges between each site provides great privacy. A loop is sunnier and closest to ocean, B and C loops offer more shade. Good utilities, and some sites even have cable. Good verizon signal. Short 10 minute path to get to ocean. Would stay here again. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed for two nights on our travel from Washington to California. Sites were first come first serve at this time of year. No pull-throughs but plenty of room to back in. Some sites that view the ocean but they were full by the time we got there at 3:00 in the afternoon. It rained hard the first night and we noticed the next day that some sites had areas of flooding. They drained later in the day but if it rains be careful. Very quiet with great access to beach. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The bathrooms were very clean and updated.

If you can get the A loop it will be a great experience since this loop is the closest to the ocean view. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Another awesome Oregon State Park. As others have said it has great views from the A loop sites, looks like most sites are very large with dense hedges around them giving lots of privacy. We are in a 38' class A and decided to pull in to our site A18 so that we could enjoy the view out the front window. We were told that we could run our generator so that's what we did. Next time we will have an extension cord. No wifi but Verizon hotspot works well. Our spot also had cable which we couldn't use because we were facing the wrong way. We weren't able to get Directv satellite signal so we just found some channels OTA and that was fine. I think that's probably hit or miss depending on the site. B and C loops are heavily treed so not sure what may be different back there. Nice paths down to the beach and tide pools. Would definitely stay here again! We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

These are the site numbers with the best ocean and rocks view:
A18, A20, A21, A22, A23, A24 and A25. I think A20 probably is the very best one but they are all good. The ones across from them might have a bit a view through the other rigs but it's hard to tell for sure. There are fewer trees in the A loop than B and C.

Beautiful state park with a variety of camping facilities and activities. We used a full hook-up site which was set amidst trees which provided privacy. Some sites have ocean views. Beach access and trails are located close by and are absolutely beautiful. The staff was excellent and helpful. The park is being remodeled during the off-season and we look forward to staying again. This is our third visit to this state park. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.
