Just stayed overnight while enroute. However, we would not return again. The park is totally asphalt and gravel, not a blade of grass in sight. Sites are very narrow; roads are very narrow and difficult to move through. It is quiet, except for barking dogs, the people in the office are very nice; but the park consists mainly of park-model permanents and it is very crowded. We camped at Portside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Big rigs beware. Park is located on the side of a hill. Narrow road with park models on the side making it difficult to pull into side. Sites are very narrow with little usable room on patio side. We saw more spacious sites located in an area with no park model homes. We will not return. We camped at Portside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I've been visiting Brookings for several years now. Portside RV is my favorite park to stay in when I want to enjoy the beach area. It's clean, well maintained, safe, quiet and has full time friendly and available staff. What more could one want? I travel with a big dog and (small) cats and we were all welcomed. We camped at Portside RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We arrived without a reservation and got one of the few remaining sites, for one night when passing through. Staff were friendly and helpful and we were escorted to our site. We were assigned a spacious pull through site, well away from the road. The park was mostly seasonal sites, with a number of new park models. It was small, but well laid out, well kept and very quiet. One is across the street from restaurants, hotels and fishing charter businesses. In addition, the downtown area of Brookings is a reasonable walk. This park is an excellent choice as a base for local tourism or when passing through. It does not have amenities for children and the dog walking area encourages one to leave the property as there is little space and no grass. We will stay here again and make it a multi day stay. We camped at Portside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The turnoff from Hwy 101 can be a bit sudden and sharp, especially when driving south.

This park is maintained in a pristine manner. There are several pull thru sites that are nicely spaced and a number of back in sites that are less expensive. We like the large pull thru spot on the end with a distant view of the ocean. The beach is about two blocks away. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Staff is friendly and efficient. There is no playground for kids, but the beach is the best playground any way. We camped at Portside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Hungry Clam has excellent seafood, located in the Harbor Shopping Center across the street.
Blue Water Cafe across the street is excellent for breakfast and lunch.
Lots of great restaurants all over town.

Beach is nearby.

Hi, here is the good and the not so good. First off very clean restrooms and laundry areas. $2.00 wash $1.50 dry. sites are very clean, all asphalt and concrete slabs. This park advertises 90 plus sites? Great access to port area you can walk to it. Now for the not so great. You have to pay for showers usually, usually 50 cents will do, but you cannot shut off the water so a little water waste issue. Dryers some times do not fully dry clothes so you can only add full amount and restart the machines. this park really only has 32 spots several large pull-thru's. there is absolutely nothing for kids to do, no swings or play area! Kids are not allowed to ride bicycles in the roads or skateboards, there is an area behind the mens room that has a 25 foot gully with water runoff all the time, BEWARE no fence around it, so watch the little one's , there are many spots in the park with no satellite services, they don't tell you this at check in. cable works great, but several sites are spotty. Lots of traffic as park has lots of full timers in park models, electricity for monthly stays is .12 cents per klw. current rate months for regular site summer is $550 +elec, ther some sites that are more ask which ones? There is no DOG park just a couple of gravel areas for the pet no bag dispenser so bring your own. don't get a site by the restrooms as door's slam at all hours of the night and day. very sterile setting, no shade trees at all. We camped at Portside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Not a lot to do in Brookings. Look at the fishing boats. Buy fresh crab and tuna off the boats.

First the negatives - I called and reserved one of their long pull-through sites for my 65 foot rig with toad. I was willing to pay a premium to not have to unhook the toad. I was told the site was 80 feet long. That should have been plenty of room. It turned out the front and rear sections of the site are on a slope, and I would not fit without unhooking the car. I was not happy. When we left, we had to back out because the slope of the site would have hit both ends of the rig. There was only 1 other long pull-through site on the property and it wasn't available or a 100 foot site as they advertise. They may have 106 sites, but the majority of them looked to have a park model on them. Driving through the park is tight. I would warn anyone with a long rig that is expecting a large site, there is only one usable site for you. If #35 is not available, don't bother with this park. Satellite dish wouldn't work. Cable was poor. I asked for my Good Sam discount and was told, "We are a Good Sam Park and everyone pays the same price." I am not sure what that means. They also advertise FMCA, but don't offer the discount for that club either. I didn't use any of their facilities so I can't comment on those. It appeared to be mostly permanent residents. The pros - The park was clean and near the harbor and shops. I wouldn't stay here again. We camped at Portside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed 2 nights here and agree it is the best option in Brookings Harbor. Our site was far enough up the hill, that we had a nice view of the water. Easy check in, guided to our pull through site. Good utilities, wifi and laundry, several restaurants within walking distance. We camped at Portside RV Park in a Motorhome.

I agree with NOV 2015 with the exception of the size of the spaces.
I have a 35 mh and I can fit 2 full size pickups along side. My lot #57. I also noticed lots 36 -40 were the same size or even bigger.
I would stay here again. We camped at Portside RV Park in a Motorhome.

After looking at the 2 other parks at Brookings Harbor I think this was the best choice. You're not on the beach but it's quieter than the other two and there's no parade of people and cars past your site all day long. That being said I did find a couple of issues. The sites are concrete and level however I'm not sure where you'd put your toad when they are full. We were there at a low demand time of year and just parked our toad in the site next to ours. It looks like they can take a 45' coach but it will fill the site. Next is the pay for showers. First off I hate those things on a matter of principle. Second this one like many others did not have an adjustable shower head. Third you use up about half your quarters waiting for the water to get hot, which it never did just warmish. Outside of those items this place was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We'd probably stay here again. We camped at Portside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Well rate reflects monthly at $505 plus elect, best way to go, beats weekly rates. all cement with asphalt and river rock separating each site. However some sites are placed between park models. Several pull thru sites, very clean restrooms and laundry $2 to wash $2.50 to dry. Reason not a 10, no pool or Jacuzzi, there is a rec room you can reserve for parties, biggest draw here is it is right across from brookings harbor and you can walk to best pizza (ZOLAS) wood fired and best clam chowder. there is a small swap meet on the warf on Saturdays, enjoyed our 3 month stay, folks very friendly. We camped at Portside RV Park in a Motorhome.

We camped in a big rig - 40 foot class A with towed SUV. Level concrete sites with space for our SUV. The power 50 amp works properly. The WiFi is the best we have found in a year of camping. Fast. No dropouts. Easy to connect. Cable TV was excellent - clear HD. 55 channels, 5 news, 3 sports, 5 major networks. Good restaurants in walking distance. Near waterfront but views are of commercial marina. Very helpful friendly staff. We will definitely camp here again. We camped at Portside RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here a week. Great location across the street from the harbor. No fishy smell. Ten minute walk to the ocean. Check in was O.K. but staff was a little grumpy. Tried to put us in back in spot when we reserved pull through and then guide took us to the wrong space. Sites are a bit small. No landscaping separation. Sites are level and paved and have picnic tables. Terrible for pets, just a small gravel area and not a lick of grass. Restrooms were modern and clean. Showers are coin operated. You put your coin in and the shower turns on automatically, with no ability to regulate heat or turn it off. I found it a bit ironic since the parks like to say they make you pay as a conservation measure and then this park doesn't even allow you to turn off the water. I paid for ten minutes, but was done in seven and the water ran for another three minutes. No general store or RV provisions. Lots of restaurants at harbor. Large percentage of full time residents living in nice cottages. They are building more cottages on the hill above the park and ingress and egress are through the park. It's a bit busy and noisy during the workday as residents and construction equipment go back and forth. We looked around and still think this is your best choice in Brookings. We camped at Portside RV Park in a Motorhome.

We lucked out and got the short front site overlooking the waterfront area. It is walking distance to fun stuff in the area, and the beach. Extremely clean and well maintained. All sites had cement pads so no blocking your jacks was required. Great cable, Wi-fi, and restrooms. Can't wait to visit this place again. We camped at Portside RV Park in a Motorhome.
