Tips for other Campers:

Nice area. Good golf nearby, try Eagle Point and Centennial. 20 mile bike trail along a stream just outside of the RV Park. Central Point is a nice little town with a couple good restaurants.

Nice new park but very little shade. As the planted trees mature this will change. We heard the freeway at night but it was not bad. Was a good spot for 1 night while driving back from California. My dump connection on my C RV was barely higher than the sewer connection on the site I was assigned but made it work. Bear Creek bike path is very close and we will use it next time if we stay more than overnight. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Motorhome.

This is an excellent option now available in the Medford area. The park has easy access, is well run, and very well laid out. The campground hosts were extremely friendly and available. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Motorhome.

Newer park next to the fairgrounds. Easy of & on I-5, good utilities, good Verizon signal, close to freeway but not to noisy, friendly staff, a little high for what you get, ok sized site's, a couple fishing ponds, right by a nice walking and bike trail, sites are pretty level but not perfect and they are angled so you are not just looking at your neighbor. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice RV Park. A little expensive, considerng no cable TV and weak Wifi. But nice grounds. RV pads are black top and not exactly level. Most folks have to level side-to-side and bring the front way up. Roads are easy. Overall a nice setting and great for a short stop. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Travel Trailer.

On our way home to California in our new motorhome, we decided to try a new to us R V Park. Friendly office person, clean park. Costco gas is just 2 miles away and Flying J is just across the street from the entrance. Turning left out of Costco is a little scary so just be patient. Great Dog area with furnished pick up bags. This park looks new- No trees but grass in between the sites. 60' std pull thru or 75' back in sites that are level and grass in between them. Restrooms were spotless! Saw quite a few folks fishing in the ponds. We had trouble finding the entrance, it's by gate 5 of the fairgrounds. Easy on/off Hiway 5, but not too much noise. Great place to stay over night on the way home. We would stay here again. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Motorhome.

We are new to campgrounds (since over 30 years ago), but this was a an excellent place. Very nice and new campground. Nice level sites. Very spacious. Had no issues -- other than a few insect bites when we pulled in at dusk. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

If you go to Ashland, watch the parking time limits. They are really zealous with ticketing. Got a parking ticket (which I begrudgingly deserved for parking longer than 2 hours); went across street to pay the $22 and had another on my windshield when I got back! Had to send in a request in hopes to have it dropped.

This campground was open about 2 years ago and the front office was finished in April 2017. The entrance to the campground is at gate 5 and is located at the northern end of the fairgrounds. All of the interior roads and sites are on asphalt. The electrical utility box (20/30/50 amp) and water are located in the middle and the sewer connection situated at the back of the site. The voltage was good - hovering around 120 volts. The premium sites are the back-in rather than the pull-thrus. The back-in sites are wider and longer. There is grass and shrubs between each site. Nice touch but poorly designed. In order to access the utilities and sewer you have to stomp over them. Each site had a picnic table and a fire ring. Free WiFi that actually worked. Verizon air card and cell phone reception was good. There is a dog run and 2 fishing lagoons. The street lamps do a good job of lighting the roads around the campground but the sites are pitched black. I can see this as a safety hazard. Two of the three bathrooms had showers. The showers were in individual room. All of the bathrooms were very clean. In the coming month management will be installing a locking key pad to prevent non-residents from accessing them. Medford and the surrounding cities have a homeless issue (although we did not see any within the campground). The front office has two bathrooms, a siting area and a book exchange. The laundry room (right next to the front office) has 2 washers at $2 per load and 2 dryers at $1.50 for 30 minutes. Bear Creek bike trail was extended to the campground. From here you can bike about 20 miles to the city of Ashland. Medford is about 5 miles away. There was noise from I-5. Overall this was a nice campground (a bit over priced). We would return to this campground if we were in the area. We have a 32 foot 5th wheel. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice new park for a short stay. No amenities. If you are traveling in a good sized fifth wheel, its best to get the largest site offered as the 60 foot sites are difficult to get into. The 10.00 reservation fee is ridiculous. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Wow! The people who designed this park planned it well. It is only one year old, and those who maintain it deserve accolades. What more could we want???? Great smooth roads, lovely plantings, comfortable spacing between rigs, long pull-throughs so you don't have to disconnect, well-functioning everything, hospitable hosts, easy access, clean as a Clorox commercial, reasonable pricing, and quiet--you have it all here. The hosts gave us great suggestions and made our time here more enjoyable. If you want to reserve a space, there is a $10 per night fee. The reservationist said it isn't that busy, so she suggested we just drive right in. You can call the actual campground at 541-423-8115 and ask how full they are. Reservations are made at the county offices. You are only about 5 minutes from Medford. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The host suggested Shari's for breakfast, and it was fantastic. We took the Harry & David tour ($5), and it was really interesting. We were here September 9-12, and we hit 100° today. We were busy, and I didn't look for a pool, so if you want to swim, you need to call and ask.

Nice new facilities. Large pad for RV, grass, landscaping, large concrete pad with picnic table at each site. Good water pressure and taste OK. 50A was good; 116V with 2 air conditioners and a toaster oven going and everyone else in the park using their air conditioners. Wi-fi was intermittent, sometime off for hours. Signal was good just no connection with the internet but when the connection was there, speed was fairly decent. Verizon voice/data was on the weak side but adequate. Completely open so satellite TV reception was good but then no shade to help keep RV cool or to sit under. Sites are close to level and pulling into them was easy from the large interior roads. Spacing between sites was very good (35-40') for an RV park. On the high end for price at a county park. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 3 different times over several months. This area was in desperate need of a new park, but due to the design layout and development of this park it falls short of filling the need. The park is visible and a short drive from I-5 (Exit 33) along a secondary street. The problems begin upon entering the park. The office is past the entrance & several rows of campsites with registration parking on either side of the office which could result in extra passes thru the park to reach your site and exit. The interior roads & parking pads are paved. The roads & turns are sufficient to maneuver larger RV's but there are tire tracks in the grassy areas along the sites and signs warning to stay on the pavement. The sites are a mixture of back-ins and P/T's. The P/T sites were long enough to say connected to a toad unless you want to connect to utilities & don't have long cords/hoses. Sites had sufficient room for opening slides but there will be some vegetation encroachment. The majority of the parking pads face East so no shade created by RV's on the patio side & possibly extra passes thru the park to reach your site and exit. This park doesn't seem to understand the simple concept of the importance of a flat, level parking pad as the majority of the park was built on a slope & there was no effort made to level or tier the parking pads so a lot of the pads have a bi-directional slope. They have full hook ups - water, electricity (50/30/20 AMP), & sewer. The utility connections were towards the rear of the sites. The sewer connection fitting was above ground & in a large majority of the sites on the uphill side making it difficult to establish a downhill flow depending on the discharge point. Distance and grassy areas establish privacy between the sites. All sites have an outside table & fire pits. Stay limitation of 14 days in a 30 day period. The landscaping is new so there is nothing to interfere with satellite reception. Most of the premium sites are closest to the interstate but surprisingly quiet. Reservation fee: $8/online & $10/phone. Laundry: 2 washers & dryers - cost was $1.50 each. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Motorhome.

We stayed here during the county fair and had no issues. In fact, it was probably quieter in the mornings as few people were pulling out. Staff was very pleasant. Sites were 30 ft wide, when the trees grow up to give shade it will be great! We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Motorhome.
