After reading the most recent review I felt it was excellent. I would only add that the spaces were very very tight. Our neighbor had a campfire one night and we were a bit afraid they might be a little too close to our tow vehicle. We had to close all of our windows due to the smoke from the campfire. We stayed in site number 6. We camped at Waterwheel RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Small campground with 33 rv spaces, which are a mix of pull throughs and back-ins. The majority of the sites are 30 amps, but there are 9 sites with 50 amp service. There are only 10 sites that are FHU. We stayed in site 1, a 50 amp water/electric site (no sewer) that faced the river. Our site wasn't very level, but doable. Interior roads are gravel and a bit tight for big rigs. Sites are also gravel, but very narrow and very close together. Quite a few trees which really need a good trimming. The campground has a strange configuration which is not the most user friendly. Be careful when following the "enter" sign around the curve to the office, as you will have to swing wide enough to turn in FRONT of the office to get into the campground. Look at the map on their website before arriving. Nice log cabin office with very little necessities (ice cream, dish soap, toothpaste, etc. but most of the shelves were empty). Bathrooms are newer and beautifully done, consisting of two toilets and two showers per gender. Laundry area also very nice with 2 washers and 2 dryers which worked well ($1.50 per wash and $1.00 per dry). Utilities worked well but water pressure was low at 35 psi. Zero OTA channels and no cable available. Verizon signal was excellent. Free wifi provided, but we didn't use. Some highway noise, but we didn't find it objectionable. The park is next to the Williamson river and they have their own boat launch. The river is quite shallow however, with lots of rocks so not ideal for swimming. Overall, we liked this park and would return. We camped at Waterwheel RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Kla-mo-ya casino is ½ mile north of the park. We wanted to visit Crater Lake, but the smoke from the nearby fires made viewing impossible. Check out the webcam on the NPS website before going to check visibility.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here during a Train Mountain (just up the road) event, this park is older with a lot of trees and it's tight getting around in a 40' big rig but we managed fine, to leave we had to back up in a pull through spot and attach our Jeep around the corner near the office. The staff was terrific and while it is close is Highway 97 it is pretty quiet at night. We liked hearing the trains at night so that was not a problem for us. We paid $200 for a week and the rate quoted reflects the weekly rate. We did not use the rest rooms, showers or laundry room so we don't know about those. We will definitely be back! We camped at Waterwheel RV Park in a Motorhome.

very nice small campground. Sites are close together. the interior roads were tight but we were able to get our 40' 5th wheel thru. There are Bbq's with the site but ours was rusted/broken and laying on the ground (the previous camper(s) used it as an ashtray. We had a site along the river which was nice. The bathrooms, showers and laundry room were very clean. The grounds were very nice. Lots of grass. The employees were very nice. We would stay here again. We camped at Waterwheel RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a very well maintained campground, staff were very friendly and helpful at check in. Interior roads are gravel and big rig access is tight but doable. The sites are close together with just enough space to park our towed. Some grass between sites with a picnic table, fire ring and barbecue. We had a level gravel pull through site overlooking the lovely Williamson River and surrounding country side from our motor home, which was very peaceful and quiet. The bathrooms were exceptional, recently renovated and spotless, a real credit to the park. The small laundry was spotless and had two washers and two dryers. Pet friendly with a pet area, doggie bags and a disposal station. Wifi and AT&T were good. We would definitely stay here again it's all about location, location, location! The lovely view more than compensates for any other shortcomings. We camped at Waterwheel RV Park in a Motorhome.

We had hoped to get into a park north of Waterwheel but found it too late in the day to get there comfortably. Waterwheel was recommended to us. It is located just north of Klamath Falls on the Williamson River. Very tranquil setting for a park. Unfortunate that it is also quite close to a major highway running from Klamath Falls to Bend or Eugene. Traffic noise is an issue. There is also freight train noise throughout the night although there is no train horn blowing...just a rumble that is both heard and felt. The restrooms are new and are quite nice. We did not check the laundry facility but no reason to think it would be anything but nice. Like so many parks I have an issue with both the gravel roads and sites. Rather than a hard round stone/gravel Waterwheel has used a soft gray gravel that is easily crushed by the weight of the heavier RV's creating a powder that makes for big-time DUST. We drove in at a crawl but was not able to prevent the "cloud". It is impossible to drive slow enough to prevent the dust, and you certainly have no control over "neighbors" that are less considerate with their driving patterns. The sites were long enough to accommodate our coach and toad without disconnect and there was ample mature trees (in need of trimming) that provided shade. The sites was were nicely spaced allowing for ample room for slides plus between. There does not seem to be a full-time maintenance/grounds keeper and the park, to a degree, reflects it. The dust, the train and truck noise, along with the need for basic park maintenance/grooming makes Waterwheel nothing but average. I have been very generous in giving this park a rating of 5 stars out of 10...at most! Sorry, the older lady that checked us in was very sweet. We most likely would seek out another park next time we are in the general area. We camped at Waterwheel RV Park in a Motorhome.

The park is older. Grassy areas and right on the river. Large trees at our site which helped with the afternoon sun. The bathrooms are pristine. Laundry room was clean. The owners and manager were very friendly and helpful. You can fish the river right in front with some good luck. We camped at Waterwheel RV Park in a Motorhome.

Small park with sites close together. We sat outside in front of MH as otherwise we would be looking in neighbors windows. Sites packed gravel, fairly level. We initially thought our site was a pull through and maybe it was, but, when we left we had to back up because of a tree preventing a turn to get out. River is close and a nice view. Some were fly fishing. Small boat launch. Walked the pups down the entrance road around CG. The lady at the front desk was kind and helpful. No tv, wi-fi was poor. We camped at Waterwheel RV Park in a Motorhome.

Camp host was wonderful. She put us in a riverside spot. Being in a rear living fiver, I asked if there was anyway we could come in reverse so we could have a river view from the living room. She accommodated us with hookups from the adjacent empty site but no sewer connection which was okay with us. Restrooms and laundry were recently remodeled and very nice and spotless. Near the highway but did not bother us at all. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. We camped at Waterwheel RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Pull thrus, next to the highway, far to expensive for the location. Very tiny sites even if you have no slides. We had a great spot but there where no neighbours otherwise we could not put our awning out. The utilities of the neighbour where next to our table. If they charge $24 it would have been a little better value for money. We camped at Waterwheel RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

When we inquired about any available sites we were initially told they were full.... Unless we wanted a water and electric only. The site we were put into was perfect for what we needed. Bathrooms weren't spotless but I wouldn't consider them necessarily dirty either. It's an established park with aging facilities but they serve their purpose. Access to the river is great and we saw all sorts of wildlife along the banks. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Waterwheel RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
