We stayed in a 50 amp site with sewer. The site was level and private with the surrounding trees and shrubbery. Our stay was peaceful and quite. The beach is right across the highway. Two sections (A&B) were closed. We didn't use the pool or restrooms. The family center is nice with good WiFi. Cell reception was nonexistent for us but we were able to get reception anytime we left the park going into town. Interior roads are tight but manageable. We camped at Pacific City RV & Camping Resort - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

If I could rate this park in the negatives I would. The ONLY good thing is most sites are private due to trees and vegetation. It is the most disgustingly dirty, filthy place I have ever stayed in. The indoor pool deck is THICK with black mould and algae as are the walls. It was so filthy that I felt it was a health hazzard. The ladies showers at the pool are likewise caked with black mold and grossly dirty; cleaning appears to be a cursory floor wipe and that's it. The pool water was fairly clean but the black algae/dirt was all on the floor of it as it was impossible to get in without getting goo on your feet. Just Gross! Almost every bathroom was closed and replaced with portable outhouses as were the Sani Dumps. Only 1 was functional for the whole park. A small kids "playground" just above our site was partially flooded with what appeared to be sewage seepage and the dry grass there was chock full of these nasty needle like burrs. My site looked like it had some gravel at one time but was mostly dirt littered with old cigarette butts. Only saw one lone fella doing maintenance/cleaning and obviously many more hands are needed in a place this size. The roads are steep and narrow and difficult to negotiate with larger rigs. They won't tell you which areas are full, forcing you to drive all around looking for a spot. Ridiculous system. I am 60 yrs old, been camping all my life and have never seen such a run down filthy place. The Family Center upstairs was decent although the WiFi was very spotty. Mini golf was literally falling apart and rotting, although the grandkids still had fun in it. Will try upload a few photos of the Gross filth. A few minutes drive to some very nice beaches, but would never return or recommend this unmaintained dump to anyone. Too bad cuz it has the potential to be a nice place with some work and upkeep. This is a membership park. It is a great location across the street from the beach and just two miles from Pacific City. The park is very large with nearly three hundred spaces. It is located in a wooded area. Our space was quite private although some were quite close together. There is no sewer in this park but it does have dump stations. They have a pool, hot tub, mini golf, pickle ball and a community center. We enjoyed our stay. On the downside there is no wifi or cell service in the area... it is like a technology black hole. There was wifi in the welcome center that we were able to use. We camped at Pacific City RV & Camping Resort - Thousand Trails in a Travel Trailer.

Let me start with the positive. We loved our site. Gravel surface, very spacious with high shrubs providing us privacy from our neighbors. I had a great ocean view from my kitchen window while washing dishes. Also, without exception, every staff member we had contact with was super nice and helpful. The park needs some significant help. When we arrived, there were signs posted warning of water contamination. That was supposed to have been corrected several days into our stay, but we stuck to bottled water for us and our dog. We didn't have full hookups so used the restrooms. They truly needed a major cleaning. I went to do laundry and the laundry room was so filthy, I went to town to do laundry. On day 3, we ran out of soap in the restrooms, on day 4, paper towels and on day 5 toilet paper. On day 6 the restrooms were shut down entirely for another 5 days while we were there due to a water main break. It happens, but another restroom was shut down the entire time we were there so with two shut down you can imagine the backup in the open facilities. The park is very congested. A ton of traffic going well beyond the posted 5 mph speed limit. I will say the roads have been paved and the potholes mentioned in prior reviews no longer exist. We are Thousand Trails members and have stayed at many TT's and am sorry to say we will not return to Pacific City. We were that disappointed. Just left what could be a great place to camp if things changed. They claim to have full hook up sites but most are taken by permanent residents. While there, they closed down the nearest dump station but I don't know why they just hung a note on it. With the narrow roads it makes it difficult to go and use the dump station. No dog park or grass to walk your dog. Only the roads that you have to dodge traffic. The garbage cans over ran every two days. Went to use the laundry only half of them worked and no change. Went to the office for change since the store was closed and they only had 2 quarters. It's camping season people! We camped at Pacific City RV & Camping Resort - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

So we checked in all excited about the location and could not wait to go to the pool and then the beach. Well...we were notified that the water was contaminated, so you had to use bottled water and/or boil. Next, they told us the pool was closed because of Algae build up. Half of the laundry machines were out of order. The store was closed and no idea when it would open. These were things we were notified of when we checked in. What a shock! So... we decided to check in anyway and proceeded to find a site. We lucked out and found a fantastic sewer site, private, and large (long and wide). We leveled out, hooked up, and went to check out the bathrooms. Yikes! Very nasty! The dumpsters just outside of the bathrooms were overflowing with trash to the point is was stacked up on the ground and on top of the dumpsters providing a horrible odor. There is NO cell service in the campground. The beautiful lodge offers wifi, so they say, but we could not even get our email or surf the web. A short trip into town was a breath of fresh air. Not good! Not well kept!. Don't go with an RV. Not well maintained! Sick from water! Don't go here! If you like a well maintained campground, this is not it! We will NEVER go back there again. We have a 32 foot fifth wheel. We were there for the 4th of July week expecting to have a great time with full hookups in our new RV. What we found instead was that the roads are too tight, the turns too small, the trees and shrubs not trimmed, the hills too steep, so that it is SCARY trying to get through the campground. Even the map was wrong! No Wi-Fi, no TV, broken table and fire ring. People were sitting in the office to try to use their phones! We could not find the sewer hookup because it was so overgrown. We had to trim back the bushes ourselves to even use it once we found it! Another larger RV tore off their back spare tire in a tight turn on a hill, lots of people MAD! Water bad, and diarrhea to top it off! They sent an email to boil water that we received too late! We had already left early, and we were glad we did! The bathrooms needed to be repaired and updated, gross, broken tiles, etc! This campground is not up to standard! A lot of the sites that would have been available are rented year round with no one there, or there is a cabin there instead, so site choices are more limited. So, if your standards are LOW, go here. We went to South Jetty instead, much better, and finished out our vacation there with Wi-Fi and TV, and good water, etc. We camped at Pacific City RV & Camping Resort - Thousand Trails in a Fifth Wheel.

Looks to have been a very popular place in the 90s. We played ping pong and pool in the family center. The family center had board games and equipment rentals but in poor shape. Miniature golf was in very poor condition: falling apart, animal feces, sharp edges. Roads falling apart almost everywhere. Narrow roads and steep climbs to get to RV sites. Closer to the top there are a few good spots to view ocean. Those spots are mostly rented to long stay members and not available to the rest of us. Restrooms were clean and well-maintained. Go for a nice place to park and sit, not for the amenities. We camped at Pacific City RV & Camping Resort - Thousand Trails in a Travel Trailer.

When we registered we were given a map and told to take anything open but no purple. The sites were very poorly marked. The sites were extremely uneven. The Class A next to us had the front wheels 6 inches off the ground. All the amenities were at the far end of the camp--quite a hike. Everything looked old and worn, this place needs a lot of updating. No TV or wifi at the sites. Only sites for members had sewers. Stayed two nights. When we left the power was out and the dump site was flooded. Not worth the money. Could have stayed at a stat park Don't waste your money was not worth the asking price of $60. The good: beautiful, heavily wooded sites. BUT: Thousand Trails/Encore never fails to disappoint. I do not complain about too many trees but as they market themselves as a "resort," I expect certain amenities. If you have wooded sites that preclude sat reception and are remote enough to have no over air TV, cable TV service is expected. I do not go camping to watch TV but expect to be able to see the news as I have my morning coffee. If I didn't care about that, I'd be tent camping rather than spending money on an RV. The lack of at-site internet service is also an indication of doing thing "on the cheap". If I want to be cut off from the world (little cell service there, either), I'll dry-camp at a state or national park. No sewer connections at "retail sites" (where non-members are allowed to camp) is another deficiency. Being told to go find your own spot smacks of too few employees to furnish a guide to your site.

The roads are narrow (as are many of the campsites) and the pavement is in need of replacement. Many sites are very off-level and just a truckload of gravel would have cured that and helped keep the dirt out of your camper. Be prepared to do a lot of sweeping. Most sites are only 30 amp service. Luckily for us the weather was cool and we did not need the 2 A/Cs on our coach.

Thousand Trails campgrounds all seem to follow the same business model of "quantity ahead of quality." Most are 300+ site facilities and that apparently is beyond their financial capacity to properly finish the parks. There are many other fine campgrounds in the Pacific City area and I, for one, am sorry I did not patronize one of them instead. Choose wisely. Cannot recommend this park, it is not big rig friendly, VERY narrow road, part ashaly, part gravel, filled with pot holes, site needed a lot of trimming because of over growth. Water line was broken, sites left without water for almost 24 hours. We received no warning. We stayed here in a 40 footer and will not return. No cell service. The lady at the front deck didn't seem to want to answer questions. The park itself was nice most spaces had shrubs dividing you from your neighbor. Some sites were tight the roads were narrow for big rigs. The sites are dirt, no grass. Would like to stay longer, but I need cell service for my business. We managed to get full hook ups at this first come, first served park. We bounced over 12 "speed curbs" to get here and fortunately our rv was still in one piece. The deferred maintenance at this park has been deferred way too long. It appears the only money they put into the park is for "speed curbs." The gravel/dirt roads have so many pot holes in them I don't know why they thought they needed to add "speed curbs."

Our dirt site was pretty level and spacious. My hotspot couldn't get a signal in the park and the park's wifi was as slow as dial up, so I had to go into town to get internet and cell signal. We camped at Pacific City RV & Camping Resort - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

This is NOT a Big Rig RV friendly place. Do not be suckered in by the wonderful promotional video done by the Owens (Owens are HGTV/Travel Channel personalities who are paid to create travel videos and shows.) This park may have 100s of spots, but only 1 through 46 are Sewer/Full Hook Up RV spots. And most of those will not accommodate Big Rig RVs. You must reserve stay through Thousand Trails. I was told at the time of my reservation that it would accommodate RVs over 40'. However I was NOT told this was a first come, first serve park. In other words... you are NOT guaranteed a specific spot with power or Sewer or of a certain size. Spots are assigned on a first come first serve basis. So the day of my arrival came and no available spot with Sewer or which would fit my RV. They would NOT refund my $40 deposit stating spots were still open. What is the point of even taking reservations if you truly are unable to reserve a spot for you RV. Thus if you don't care what type of spot you get, you will probably enjoy this park. It is not in a bad location. But if you have a big rig and require large spots WITH full-hook ups, this is not the park for you. Also as a side note you are limited to only two dogs per spot!
