We were here a couple years ago - see my 8/15 review for a more detailed description of the park. There seem to be more pull-through sites than back ins. Once again, we had a FHU, pull-through site with cable TV. With all the big pines, I don't know if there is a satellite friendly site in the park. The Wi-Fi was good enough for our minimal (e-mail and web surfing) needs. The laundry has new machines that are a bit expensive. I still don't see any recycling or anything recreational other than horseshoes. This is a nice, well run, and maintained park with good facilities for a great price. For me, it lacks the amenities (a pool and satellite friendly sites, for example) to encourage a longer stay. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

A campground amongst the tall pine trees is the dream of campers looking for a rustic spot to regenerate. The layout of sites is unlike any other park and it is nice to not be in dull rows of big boxes and busses. The owner is starting to work on doubling his campground and is gladthe town is getting a sewer system. He seems to be one of those guys who makes things happen. A nice place to stay for a few days exploring the area and within driving distance to Crater Lake. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We are staying here at Big Pines RV Park for the first time and appreciate the owner's courtesy and helpfulness. The park is laid out very nicely with pine trees all over, providing excellent shade. Spaces are long with plenty of privacy. We camped here in a motorhome and did not use the bathroom or laundry. The cable tv and WIFI was a little slow at times, but worked quite well. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

Great Park. Very accommodating and helpful owner. Wifi was excellent. Owner having difficulty with signage on Hwy. Easy to drive by park unless you are aware of it and looking for it. Very quiet. Will definitely stay here again. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a gem of a little park. Located next to Hwy 97 in the trees. We could not hear the hwy traffic at all. All sites are gravel and enough room so you do not feel crowded. The owners are awesome. Recommended a visit to Newberryy crater about 30 miles north ("Oregon's other crater") Everything worked fine. We will be back. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We had a great spot at Big Pines. Loved the way the spaces were laid out, you felt like you had some space around you and your weren't looking in your neighbors window! The owners were great - even delivered our packages to our door when they arrived! Wifi was good and we enjoyed the cable TV. We were really happy that the North Gate opened so we could take the short route to Crater Lake and it was SO WORTH IT! Great spot to stay. We had a ridiculous amount of mosquitos swarming the area . .but you can hardly blame the park for that! Bathing in bug spray was a daily routine ;) We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

Crescent is a town on hard times but was the closest we could get to Crater Lake. The sites are similar to a state park, plenty of room. Lots of pine trees as the name of the park implies. Rustic, but staff take you to your site and were walking around checking on things frequently. We'd stay there again. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

Friendly, efficient manager and owner. Well marked on roadway, wide area to get in off Hwy. 97 and then park to register. My site was a pull thru which curved off a main interior roadway. Plenty of room for my 55' overall length. Next time in area this will be my stop. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed twice: Sept & Oct, same site each stay. Like: how sites are laid out for privacy; tidiness of grounds; recycling; bathrm/shower rooms very clean & private, plus having comfy place to wait if shower is on use. Some hi-way noise. Not much to do nearby; most points of interest require driving 30-60 mins. This park can accommodate small or large rigs; park owner assigns sites accordingly. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Our first visit to that area of central Oregon. Host greeted me at the office, and confirmed my reservation. He then walked, as we followed him in our RV to our camp site. He was friendly, professional, helpful and pleasant. Our pull through site was shaded, with a small manicured grass area, complete with a picnic table and fire ring. The shower building was spacious, clean and well lit, and the water was hot. Though the park was full, it was quiet. WiFi worked great in our site, as did water, electric and sewer hookups. I do not plan to even try out any other parks in the Bend, La pine, Crescent areas of Oregon. I intend to return, and when I do, I will be staying at Big Pines RV park. It is outstanding. Try them you will be glad you did. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at Big Pines RV Park, with our cat, from Memorial Day until mid-September, 2016. Big Pines is a relaxed, comfortable RV Park with well-kept amenities. Heated water connection and sewer is a 15 ft connection. The owner was a gracious host and helped make our stay all the more enjoyable. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We enjoyed the park's location between Crater Lake National Park and Bend. We attended the Newberry Event festival in nearby Newberry as well as the Bite of Bend and Summerfest in Bend. Big Pines turned out to be a great choice for us, with reliable utilities, reasonable rates and a nice ambience. I'd definitely recommend staying at Big Pines on your travels through central / southern Oregon.

Best commercial campground this whole summer. Beautiful park among tall pines, spacious sites, all utilities worked well. Free wifi worked better than most parks. There is a laundromat although we did not use. Close enough to use as a base for Crater Lake, Newberry Volcanic National Monument and many other scenic natural attractions. Park is well kept with pleasant on-site owners. Reservations are a must. We had to wait nearly two weeks before we could get a spot for a week. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
