This review is mixed. There are two shower/toilet combos for the entire park. If someone is using the shower, No one can use the facility. Trash is stacking up in bathrooms and outdoors. Attention to detail seems lacking. Having my said that, this is the nicest park in the area. Others are tiny and rigs are very close together. We would stay here again. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We were here a couple years ago - see my 8/15 review for a more detailed description of the park. There seem to be more pull-through sites than back ins. Once again, we had a FHU, pull-through site with cable TV. With all the big pines, I don't know if there is a satellite friendly site in the park. The Wi-Fi was good enough for our minimal (e-mail and web surfing) needs. The laundry has new machines that are a bit expensive. I still don't see any recycling or anything recreational other than horseshoes. This is a nice, well run, and maintained park with good facilities for a great price. For me, it lacks the amenities (a pool and satellite friendly sites, for example) to encourage a longer stay. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

A campground amongst the tall pine trees is the dream of campers looking for a rustic spot to regenerate. The layout of sites is unlike any other park and it is nice to not be in dull rows of big boxes and busses. The owner is starting to work on doubling his campground and is gladthe town is getting a sewer system. He seems to be one of those guys who makes things happen. A nice place to stay for a few days exploring the area and within driving distance to Crater Lake. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Crescent is a town on hard times but was the closest we could get to Crater Lake. The sites are similar to a state park, plenty of room. Lots of pine trees as the name of the park implies. Rustic, but staff take you to your site and were walking around checking on things frequently. We'd stay there again. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed twice: Sept & Oct, same site each stay. Like: how sites are laid out for privacy; tidiness of grounds; recycling; bathrm/shower rooms very clean & private, plus having comfy place to wait if shower is on use. Some hi-way noise. Not much to do nearby; most points of interest require driving 30-60 mins. This park can accommodate small or large rigs; park owner assigns sites accordingly. Used as an overnight stay while traveling through Oregon. Small park in the pines. Level gravel sites. Full hookups. Strong electric. Good Verizon signal. Excellent wifi. Has cable but did not try. Only one bath and shower each for men/women, both very clean. Bath/shower was a combo room so if someone for instance is taking a shower, you have no access to toilet.

Site separation range from good to just OK depending on where you are placed. Since we were overnighters in a shorter motorhome (29 feet) and arrived late in the day, we were placed in one of the lesser visually attractive sites. Manager/owner was friendly and works hard to keep park in good shape. Would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed there for 4 months. We had a nice site in the pines at the back of the park. There was year round people behind us, but they were never a problem. We always go monthly to save money and enjoy the area longer, I love to hike. We paid $410 a month, all inclusive. The water there is fantastic, great for drinking right out of the tap, and freezing cold. The owners were very active in the park, and they are really nice people. They will work with you for reasonable requests. There is some noise from the highway, but no big deal at the back. Deer can routinely be spotted at the perimeter of the park. They have a small laundromat in the front, just for the park, and it is always clean and reasonably priced. This is a really nice little park, and I definetley recommend it for anyone wanting to explore the Crater Lake/Newberry Caldera area. There are only 29 sites, but they are working on expanding soon. No discounts on monthly rates. I plan on returning in the future for sure. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The closest place to get any kind of food or beverage supplies is in La Pine, 17 miles north of the park. They have several stores there, but it is the home of high prices for sure. I was living there monthly, so I stocked up every couple of weeks in Bend, 50 miles away.

Per it's name, this park is among big pines. We had a level, gravel, FHU, pull-through site with 30+ channel cable TV. Because of the trees, few (if any) sites are satellite friendly. The site size was larger than most parks. There was a bathhouse with showers at the front of the park and a singular full bathroom at our end of the park. Unfortunately, the laundry building had recently been damaged (a customer drove her car in to it). The building is currently being rebuilt/renovated. We had no problems with their 802.11 network. It was one of the faster and more reliable connections we have had on this trip. I noticed no recycling. Except for some horseshoe pits, there is nothing recreational in the park - it might be boring for families. The manager we dealt with was very helpful. If all you want/need is FHU, cable, and Wi-Fi, this is a very good park. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a small RV park in the pines. The park has curves and most of the spaces are not the usual square pattern. Very friendly and helpful staff. We have a 42 foot motorhome and a bit tight getting in an out. Our site was very spacious, but also quite tight on the utilities side. We had a nice small area of grass with a picnic table. Verizon signal quite good here. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We drove the Cascade Parkway which is close to park. Very nice road that winds through lakes and mountains in the area. We also went to the Mohawk Restaurant. Interior worth the visit. Collectables all over the place. Pretty amazing actually. My food was average. My wife's not so good. Very good wait staff. Actually excellent. RV park provides a coupon in their brochure.

The owners were very helpful and the campground was well maintained. There were quite a few of permanent residents so not a lot of sites for overnighters. There is only one bathroom/shower combo for men and one for women. We stayed here while we toured Newberry Volcanic National Monument. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lovely small park. Good space between sites with picnic tables and fire pits. You get a wheel barrow full of wood for $5. Very small camp store. Wifi worked but somewhat slow. Overall a good but not great place. There are only two bathrooms, one shared men/women, so not always clean. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed at Big Pines as a layover to Sisters because we arrived during the big Rodeo in Sisters, and there was no where to stay. We are glad we did! Overall a nice park that is well maintained with lots of, you know, big pines. The owner was seen every day attending to some landscaping detail or another. He is also very congenial. The sites are oddly placed which is actually an attribute as it enables more privacy. Our site was gravel, very long and easily made a temporary home for our 45 foot motorhome. We had a nice big "yard" with a picnic table and fire pit. We were also able to hang a newly purchased hammock between two trees :) The only dings are the inconsistent WII FI (in our spot anyway) and the noise from US 97. We would stay here again. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

There is an RV/Truck wash in La Pines. The owner says they do great work. Unfortunately for us, they were closed (Sunday) on the day we passed through.

We stayed overnight and were pleased with this very nice park. The attendant led us to our site and made sure we had everything we needed. Gravel site was level and utilities were conveniently located. Wi-Fi worked well and AT&T cell reception was good. We would stay again. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Great park. They have a lot of cutesie touches. Even a little dog park with a fire hydrant. Long term tenants but not creepy. One of our favorite stays on our coast to coast journey. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park, clean sites and they were scattered so you aren't on top of each other. Grass area, table and fire pit at each site. Trash cans conveniently located around the park. Other reviews are right on. There is 1 shower for men, 1 for women, they are clean and roomy. As one reviewer stated this is a "rustic" park, it is "decorated" this way in that the buildings and grounds have that look. There are quite a few full time residents, some in trailers or mobile homes....not an issue but if you look closely there are areas that could use a clean-up. Used the laundry; it was clean and convenient. Would stay here again, owners very nice and accommodating. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.
