This campground does not have 'resort' facilities. The RV sites include good quality 30 amp electric. A long hose mounted on trees, will reach all sites. Pump out at your site is available weekly at a cost of $20. There is also a charge for the RV dump for 'guests'. The access road from Hwy 58 is 'rough' and narrow is places. The reason we and so many others go there is for the fishing. If you tow a boat, they will launch and retrieve it for you at no cost and if available, you can rent dock space. We go every year and enjoy it. We camped at Shelter Cove Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

We had an outstanding experience during a four day stay in mid-October. Sited among tall conifers on the shore of Lake Odell one has the sensation of having the Pacific Northwest to oneself. It was rainy, cool, and breezy which did nothing to dampen our spirits.

Given the time of year the resort was not crowded so we had the run of the place. One can hike the Pacific Crest Trail or any of the other numerous trails found nearby. There's fishing which is accessible by rented boat, off the docks, or shoreline. Licenses and gear available on site.

All staff members were dedicated to making sure we had everything available to enjoy our stay. One rainy day, there was chicken-dumpling soup free to anyone from a large pot on the counter. Free chocolate chip cookies at check-in.

Campsites are varied. Most have 30 amp service. Few are positioned to receive satellite TV. WiFi is available - nearer the office the better. Verizon cell service was good. Our MiFi hotspot worked well.

No sewer or water hookups at the sites but there is a dump station and a number of hose bibs scattered throughout the park from which ones water tank can be filled. A holding tank dump service is reportedly available once per week though we did not use it.

Some of the sites are not very level and/or have tree limbs in the way of larger RV's. We did not have trouble finding an excellent site.

The park has recently changed hands and the new owner, Highway West Vacations, is sprucing things up. There are some very cozy cabins, good laundry, and sparkling pay showers available.

We had a great time and will be back. We camped at Shelter Cove Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a remote area. Some stores are available in Crescent, about 25 miles away. Also the Mohawk restaurant, a local institution.

Come here to fish, hike, boat, and enjoy the natural beauty.

Been going to this park most of my life to go fishing. You only have power that's all you get now they have raised the rates high enough to price me out will not go back. Lot spacing is close. Sites are dirt with picnic table and fire ring. We camped at Shelter Cove Resort & Marina in a Truck Camper.

This is a gorgeous RV park on Odell Lake. The views and hiking trails are magnificent. They only have electric hook-ups, but water is located at convenient spots around the park. There is one toilet located just off of the office parking lot. No hot water at the toilet. The showers are a bit of a hike from the RV sites, but are clean. The cost is $1.50 in quarters for 3 minutes. No sinks or mirrors at the showers. The office and General Store is handy and well stocked. Firewood is available at the store. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. The roads and sites are gravel and have a picnic table with a fire pit. The sites are nestled amongst old, tall trees. There are trails all over the place, but we especially liked the short hike to nearby Trapper Creek, where we could see the Kokanee spawn. There is one dump site at the resort, but the cost is $5.00 to dump for RVers who stay at the resort. We only stayed there for two day, but we look forward to going there again. Only eight out of ten starts because it's a bit more like camping without full hook-ups. We camped at Shelter Cove Resort & Marina in a Travel Trailer.
