This is one of my fav places ever. Maintenance is perfect. So quiet, and room between spaces. Chickens, ducks, quail, deer, so many animals moving thru, not to mention neighborhood dogs and affectionate cats. And a great cafe down the street, plus Halloween decorations. We come thru here twice a year and love it each time. We camped at Fish House Inn and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

What a GEM! Wonderful owners who are on site and keep the park immaculate. The park, although small, is easy to get in and around with our 40' Bus. Only 7 sites with full hookups. We were in #7 and I could get Dish with my Portable setup. Wifi was worked very good. Thank you for a great stay! We camped at Fish House Inn and RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a pleasant campground with lots of foliage, well maintained landscaping and free range chickens seen eating squashed bugs off of RV front caps. All sites are back ins. Satellite TV was unavailable at most sites but might work at #6. Included WiFi was very good. There is no restaurant, fish house or otherwise, at the camp. The town has only two retail stores with limited stock. The Dayville Café, two blocks away, was a very good restaurant for such a small town. The John Day Fossil Beds National Monument is nine miles up the road, has beautiful and varied geological formations and is well worth a full day. Trails are mostly easy. Going west from I-84, filing stations are infrequent; fuel up in Ontario, particularly if you use diesel. We camped at Fish House Inn and RV Park in a Motorhome.

We pull a 43' fifthwheel. This park is a gem. Entrance from the road is easily missed. Small park run by owners who are just lovely people. This is a very pretty well kept park behind a small inn. Lane is gravel. Sites are gravel and nicely spaced with nice grass areas between. Utilities are well positioned and work well. WiFI is excellent. There is no cable but our satellite worked well. No AT&T Cell service, dog park, pool or kiddy play area. Large grass areas for walking the dogs. Even with a lot of rain this Spring, we did not notice any bugs. Would definitely love to return and spend more time. We camped at Fish House Inn and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Walk to the Dayville Cafe to eat. Follow that with in-house made pie. Closest town for shopping is John Day about 20 minutes away. Folks drive into town for shopping. Be sure to allow at least one whole day to visit the John Day F0ssil Beds National Monument - amazing visitor center and sites.

Carefully manicured park like setting with fruit trees, gardens, and putting green like lawns, helpful on site owners who do their own maintenance, wpa secured wifi with adequate speeds for internet browsing, large back in sites with grass strips separating sites. I only wish they had more sites. We had reservations for two nights and stayed for four. I absolutely would return here again. We camped at Fish House Inn and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A few miles away is the John Day Fossil Bed National Monument. No charge to drive in. Cant Ranch has sheep shearing pens preserved from prior to WWII and an excellent visitor center/museum is located nearby. Dayville Cafe has excellent plentiful food at reasonable prices.

We love this place. Stay to and from traveling to the SW. Sites are level, clean, neat, bathrooms are clean, there is a great cafe within walking distance, and much to see and do in the vicinity. Don't tell anyone, OK? We camped at Fish House Inn and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Given the price of this campground it was the best we have stayed in on this 5 month trip. There are only 6 sites but they are plenty big, level, and well maintained. The entire surrounding grounds are beautiful grass and trees. Because of the number of sites it is very quite. The owner was very friendly and helpful. You can tell that he takes a lot of pride in his campground. If we did not have other places to be we would have loved to stay here longer even though there is not much around close by. The campground was that good.

We would definitely stay again for longer. We camped at Fish House Inn and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a gem of an RV park. Only 6 sites but one of the best we have ever stayed at. All sites are gravel but level. There are full hook-ups for RVs and multiple tent spaces out on one of the well manicured expansive lawns. They have 2 large and very clean full bathrooms with nice showers. The laundry facility is clean and nice.

The grounds look like a very nice large back yard. Fruit trees, berry bushes and grapes are everywhere. The owner greets you on entry and is extremely nice and helpful. There is an outstanding cafe within walking distance and an ice cream shop next door.

You must stop here if you are on highway 26. And this is the only place I would recommend in this area. We camped at Fish House Inn and RV Park in a Motorhome.

A true GEM in this very rural setting. There is local intermittent WiFi but no phone service and no HDTV or Cable. The CG is immaculate, grass sites with gravel pads. Almost like camping in someones backyard. Owner is host and great. Utilities are well placed and work well. Close to John Day Fossil Beds, Painted Hills and Sheep Rock Units, and great hikes. We enjoyed the time spent here and will definitely return when in the area. We camped at Fish House Inn and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

One local mercantile and one gas station. One cafe in town well worth the stop. Excellent meals and easy pricing. Very out of the way but worth the stop and time spent in the Fossil Beds National Monument.

This is a very small park in the midst of a small town. Only 7 sites, but very long gravel pads. Grass was green and well tended. 50A power and full connections. The owner/manager is a little off-beat and very laid back. I had to track him down on the second day, since his credit card machine did not work on the first day. Our site was very long and started getting afternoon shade by mid-afternoon. This is a very good home base for exploring the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. We camped at Fish House Inn and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Walk to the Dayville Cafe for steak or hamburger. Follow that with in-house made pie - we had marionberry and rhubarb. - both were good. Be sure to drive to the Painted Hills unit of the John Day Monument (about an hour) and see the natural color pallet of the landscape. Take the time to drive to the town of John Day (about 30 minutes) and visit the Kam Wah Chung State Heritage Site.

This a very clean, green and manicured grassy campground. The owner has been very nice and helpful the two times I've stayed here, and he is fun to visit with. He spends alot of time on the park and the cabins, etc. It was not an unlevel site that we had, like a couple reviews had said. (Maybe he has worked on them?) Anyway this is a must stay at park, whether passing thru for a night like us, or a whole week. We camped at Fish House Inn and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This really is a gem in central Oregon. Great location for visiting the John Day Fossil Beds NM. The park is small with only a handful of sites. The manager was great. Grassy sites located in "downtown" Dayville. Had no problem leveling my 38' MH. Small park within walking distance. Well, the whole town is within walking distance although we did not partake of any of the amenities. If you are coming through this is definitely a great place to stay. We camped at Fish House Inn and RV Park in a Motorhome.

What a gem! Clean and tidy, well-maintained landscape and sites. Owner mostly works in the barn, and you choose your own site when you come in. We made reservations, but in mid-May, the place was not busy. Long back-in sites (only 6), and also some cabins/inn. Very quiet, within walking distance to a cafe known for great pie, a mercantile, espresso place, and an ice cream place, all on the main drag. Cute, tiny town with lots of history. Lots of trees and grass. Great for the dog. Private restroom/showers, and laundry room. WiFi was good; Verizon was good. Picnic table at each site. About as relaxing as you can get. We're adding this to our snow bird itinerary. Minor leveling needed. We camped at Fish House Inn and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Don't miss the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. The visitor center will blow your mind. 44 million years ago? Wow! Even the Mascall overlook just off Hwy 26 was impressive. Many interesting hikes nearby, very easy to challenging. The John Day River is beautiful.

The owner of this RV park is friendly and he keeps the park well maintained. It's a small park with six back-in sites with full hookups. At least three of the sites are large enough for any size rig. RV sites are hard packed gravel and relatively level (we used blocks under the front passenger tires). There's a large grassy area between each site and the grass is beautiful. There are tent camping spots on a large grassy area. Verizon service for both data and cell worked well. There is park wifi too and it worked well. Bathroom/shower combinations were large and clean. There was a laundry room but we didn't use it. Lots of space to walk pets. There is a small store in the town that has the basics, but it's probably best to stock up before you arrive if you're planning to stay a few days. We will definitely stay again if passing through the area. We camped at Fish House Inn and RV Park in a Motorhome.
