Gravel with lots of dust. Attached to a small lake and next to a national park campground. In the middle of no where with no cell (some voice but no data at all) and no local TV stations and no cable. Lots of trees and big crowded old fashioned bare bones type park. Nice staff and good cafe at the office. Absolutely nothing in the area except forest and a couple of small lakes. Half way between Medford and Klamath - good location to visit crater lake (1 and 1/2 hours drive) Dusty and tight but doable. We stayed two nights to get a good full day at crater lake and it worked well. Could not find anything in the area for the weekend to go to Crater, so this was a last minute find but worked well. We camped at Fish Lake Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Great spot for visiting crater lake (we booked late so anything closer was full for the weekend) 1 and 1/2 hours away. Other than that - nothing to do. The lake looked cute and there were boats you could rent and the cafe was good. Nice people camping there and plenty of spaces so late reservation worked for us. Seemed popular and plenty of national park camp grounds near as well.

Overall Rating:

Beautiful setting on Fish Lake. This campground has a separate full hook up area (back in sites) for RVs down by the lake and an upper area in the woods that has power & water along with tent only sites. Interior roads are very tight for bigger rigs and parking for tow vehicles is in the middle of rv sites making it difficult to back in or pull out at times without having to ask someone to move their vehicle. You are extremely close to your neighbor. Trees & brush need attention in sites. We camped at Fish Lake Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Pull in, unplug and enjoy the lake. Rent a fishing boat or pontoon and cast a line in. There's walking trails in the woods for exercise. Lodge has meals but a little on the pricey side. Use the fire rings and enjoy.

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

The lake is nice but if you are in a tent and camping in the only loop they have, with generators going from RV's you will be up all night. Also when I was there they were doing construction on the bathrooms and the sewer was right next to my campsite and smelled like human feces all day and night at my campsite. I asked respectfully for a refund with no sleep from other campers' generators and the sewer problem and they refused to give me a refund. I camp regularly and was very surprised they wouldn't give me a refund. I will never camp there again. Hard to find out who to contact regarding the campground so be careful when complaining and you will be referred by the resort at Fish Lake to the Butte Falls Ranger Forest District. Good luck with that and will stick with day-trips only if I ever want to go back. We camped at Fish Lake Resort in a Tent.

This is a very friendly well kept park. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. A great park even without TV or Wi-Fi (US Cellular air card worked well). We will stay in this park again. We camped at Fish Lake Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
