This state park has a combo of Full hook-up, Electric & Water, and No hook-up sites. It is first come, first served only. It is on the East side of Rt 101. The day use area and dump station is on the west side. There is a beautiful walking path of about 1/2 mile from the campground to the beach through the coastal rain forest. It is all level except for a short part that goes under and up the other side of the highway. It is a rather long walk, but an easy, beautiful one and provides handy access to the beach. The shower room was bright and clean. There are separate tiled shower stalls with only a tiny stool and some hooks inside. There is a long bench in the outer area though. The biggest annoyance is that it runs on a push button and the water only runs for about 17 seconds before you need to push the button again. It took me 18 button pushes for a normal shower! I don't mind having to push the button but at least run it for a minute or so! Also, I hung my dry clothes on the hook on the door of the stall and my pants got splashed with water from the shower, so I suggest you leave your dry clothes on the hooks or bench outside the stall. Plenty of hot water and good pressure, though. The sites tend to be on the small side. If you travel with a big rig your choices might be quite limited. Most of the sites seem to be in the high 30 ft to low 40 ft range. Also, almost all the sites have a lot of shade so forget using the solar panels or satellite in most cases. Nice enough park, but for the money you can do better in the area IMHO. Also there is almost no service at all from either Verizon or T-Mobile. If you can forgo the hookups, the forest service campgrounds in the area are a much better value especially since most of them honor the Senior Pass for 50% off the camping fee. We camped at Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park in a Truck Camper.

This is a FCFS park so we had our choice of sites. There were several sites long enough but obstructions across the road made backing into some difficult. We did not have any interaction with the camp hosts. No cell service, wifi or OTA channels. The beach is easily accessible across Hwy 101. You can hear the roar of the ocean. We camped at Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Another nice Oregon State Park. Lots are nicely spaced and there is plenty of vegetation for privacy between sites. It was cloudy and raining when we arrived. We stayed at a full hook-up site (55) which had a nice picnic table and fire pit. There was no wifi or ATT signal. We hiked across the road to the beach trail and experienced a nice sunset. The trail to the beach, Hobbit Trail, is lush with moss and ferns, such beautiful sights. The walk along the beach was at low tide and we enjoyed the water and carved cliffs. Popular landmark Haceda Head Lighthouse is nearby. The bathrooms were okay, they had free push button showers and in October it took 3 squirts to get it hot. * 41 full-hookup sites (first come, first served) * 14 electrical sites with water (first come, first served) * Seven walk-in tent sites (closed seasonally) * Hiker/biker camp * Two reservable yurts (one pet-friendly) * Flush toilets and hot showers * RV dump station in day-use area * Firewood for sale We camped at Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park in a Motorhome.

Small park, with no reservations, arrived early. Maybe too early, but host told of some good site open. First one was nice, but someone before failed with black tank mess, and moved on. Host was getting someone on it right away, and knew of who. Now good stuff. Heavily treed, large, great vegetation. Which make for my style of camping. No cell coverage. They do have day use area across street on the beautiful ocean. They have walk in tent area with wheel barrels to get gear to site. Large and private. Good hiking, with Oregon Ocean trial come through park. The hike to Heceta Head Lighthouse is a must. 3 miles each way, and after crossing highway you can view ocean, and beach. Very rugged, and oh so beautiful. Once at lighthouse a tour is available. Great view points, and the old caretakers house is for rent like weddings, and what setting it would be. For stop again. We camped at Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park in a Motorhome.

N. Florence, located off 101. 51 full hookups sites, 7 electrical sites, 7 walk in tent sites and some yurts. Dump station across the street at the Day Park. This is park located east of 101 with a short half mile walk to a beautiful beach that seems to be empty. Our dog loved the beach. Sites are in two loops and many are big and level. Some are very private. The trail from the campground to the beach should not be missed - green moss on very different trees and a running creek beside you as you walk along. Hosts are very nice here and the campground has two bathhouses with nice showers. We were told that this campground is the quiet campground and it is. First come first serve. There were a number of sites available when we arrived early Friday afternoon. When we drove up 101 from Winchester Bay to the campground the last part of the drive is curvy with turnouts only on the west side. There is also a tunnel with the sides only 11.4 but 14.5 in the middle. We are 11.8 so we stopped until no traffic was coming to drive in the middle of the road. It's a very short tunnel. Beautiful views driving up and at some of the turnoffs you can see the Heceta 45 Lighthouse which is the most photographed lighthouse in the state. Trails from the campground lead to it and there is a road with parking even for RVs just before the park to visit it. This is in a great location and I would stay here just for the beach. Outstanding! We camped at Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a lovely park. It's on the east side of US-101 so it is not on the ocean directly. There is a half mile trail to the beach that goes under US-101. The park is thick with evergreen trees. The no reservation park was a nice change and good for an impromptu trip. We arrived on the last Thursday of April. There were plenty of spaces. Even through the weekend this early in the season some spaces remained available. There's a decent amount of space between sites. Some offer more visual privacy than others. Each shower stall has a shower area and a drying area. There is only a small round wooden stool to sit on. This is now one of our favorite Oregon coast state parks. We camped at Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park in a Motorhome.

This is an Oregon State Park and we visited during the busy summer months when getting a spot to camp without a reservation is nearly impossible on the Oregon Coast. This park is first come-first serve. Since we planned our trip to the beach at the last minute, we selected this park as our best opportunity to get a spot and we found a gem, site A-29. With our 41 foot MH, the site was more than long enough and all of the utilities were easily accessible and in excellent condition. The campground is heavily canopied with trees so no satellite and the Verizon signal was not available. You can get cell service across the highway in the day use area. We will probably return to this park frequently due to the no reservation system at this location. We camped at Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park in a Motorhome.

First come, first serve park. Beautiful setting and nice paved sites with full hook-ups. Quiet park with spacious, clean sites with a good mix of shade and open space. No cell service. Ocean and beach is 1/2 mile hike from park. Hike to Heceta Head Lighthouse has some steep parts but is well worth it once you arrive. This is one of the nicest parks that we have stayed at but even in mid September it was full by late afternoon. We camped at Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The 6 mile round trip hike to the lighthouse is strenuous, but a very pretty walk through the forest. It was quite windy on the beach and mostly deserted - our dog loved it.

This is one of my favorite state parks in Oregon. All the electrical has been upgraded with 50 amp available. One thing you might remember when staying at this park you have no cell service and no TV reception unless you have a satellite. This park is fairly close to Florence, and convenient to Newport and Lincoln city, a short walk and your to the ocean it is a nice secluded park with all the amenities of a real camp out experience. We camped at Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park in a Motorhome.

Great value. Great location with lots of trails that start from the campground, including trails that access the beach. The Heceta Head Lighthouse trail was great. You can come back along the Hobbit's trail and beach to make it a loop. There are shorter walks in the area as well. The sites and roads are paved. They have picnic tables and fire rings. Most sites are quite private because of all the trees. The sites can get a little muddy if there is rain. If it rains or if it is windy, be prepared to clean off the top of your rig, slides, and awning. We had a lot of pine needles and branches on our rig and cleaned them off twice. We also had to clean off our car a couple of times because of the branches and needles. No damage was done, but it can make for a loud night with branches hitting the roof. The site was quiet. Most of the large sites were taken (and there were only a handful of people there) so if you have a larger RV, you may have a hard time finding a site if the campground is busy. It was a tight squeeze to get into our site, but fine once we were in. We have a 34 ft Class A. The showers were okay for cleanliness, but like most of the Oregon State Park campgrounds - they could use a really good thorough clean. The water temperature really varied. We had one shower that started hot and then got cold. And then we had another shower that was just cold. Try to use the showers first or not when they are busy if you want hot water. We camped at Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park in a Motorhome.
