45 full hookups, 120 electrical $26 Site 066 This campground is one of the largest state parks in Oregon. There are seven loops all different sizes. Two loops H and F one can access the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area with ATVs. We were in loop B near the entrance and two of the lakes. There is another lake across the highway for day use as well as the one near the entrance. One can swim, fish and rent paddle boats and sand boards for sledding on the dunes. This is a very nice park and our site was huge and private. The tall trees in the B loop were stunning. Bathhouses all have showers. There are hiking trails around the park leading to the dunes, lakes and day use area. We arrived on a Saturday and there were many sites available but it was a misty day. Nice park with a little welcome center with exhibits and two nice hosts for information. We camped at Jesse M. Honeyman Memorial State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a state park so don't expect a resort. It is quiet, very wooded, lots of trails, lots of smoke from camp fires. As in most state campgrounds, there is no cable & no Wi Fi. We stayed in Loop B and booked online with Reserve America. Using their filters to choose what we wanted: we were told that our site (65) had 50 amp, water, sewer and partial shade. There was no sewer, only 30 amp & full shade. Luckily, we came with empty sewer tanks & it was cool (we had to run the heat) so we could deal with 30 amp. Even though we were told partial shade we didn't expect it. We camped at Jesse M. Honeyman Memorial State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We ate at 1285 Restobar in Florence. Very good Italian food. My husband had lasagna and I had spaghetti with meatballs: both excellent. They sell seafood, burgers and sandwiches as well.

Oregon treats military special & my rate was reflective of that. Park is in the woods. I had full hookup site in H loop. All utilities worked as expected. Site was large & easy leveling. Roads were easy to navigate. Lots of trees, picnic table & fire ring. Sites a very large with trees & bushes between sites. Would stay here again. We camped at Jesse M. Honeyman Memorial State Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed in an "old growth" forest site with electricity and water, which was beautiful. We ended up staying 5 days instead of 3 which was planned. My husband used his kayak on the day use lake and had a great time. You can walk to the dunes. We camped at Jesse M. Honeyman Memorial State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Florence is nearby and has everything you need. We found a cute tea room restaurant for lunch (Lovejoy's) that also had crab cakes etc., and the food was excellent.

Another great Oregon State Park. Like lots of state parks finding sites for our 34" motorhome can sometimes be a challenge, particularly heavily treed sites. With some searching found a good site and with some maneuvering around were able to get backed in and fit the tow. The 30 amp service and water worked fine. During the summer season reservations would be wise/necessary. Very nice park with lots to do and close to Florence with even more to do. Host and park rangers were excellent, including management's decision to discount the site because of 30 amp breaker problem we caused. We camped at Jesse M. Honeyman Memorial State Park in a Motorhome.

This is an excellent Oregon state park. The park staff is very friendly and knowledgable Sites are well situated to allow for privacy. Parking pads are level and fit our 40' motorhome and towed vehicle easily. This has many great hiking trails and a couple of very nice lakes for fishing and kayaking. There is also direct access to the Oregon dunes. We camped at Jesse M. Honeyman Memorial State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to old town Florence. Many great restaurants to choose from. We had dinner at Mo's right on the waterfront and the food was excellent. There are several ATV and dune buggy outfits that offer rentals or guided tours of the dunes.

Great campground! We opted for partial service (no sewer). Treed site - couldn't really see neighbours. Paved roads throughout park and paved parking area at each site.

Bathrooms were old but clean. Showers were at the end of building with separate entrances. We didn't use showers so cannot comment, but there was a handicap shower.

Staff at booth were excellent. We were told we could go find a site and come back and register. We took clerk's suggestion for a site, "but if you don't like it, come back and tell us which one you want." Very accommodating. Not sure it's like this in the height of summer!

Only negative was no wifi, but we knew that Oregon SPs do not offer it - maybe one day. Our cell service worked (from Canada). Not sure which US carrier.

We would definitely stay here again - it's a lovely spot and right in the Dunes Recreation Area. We camped at Jesse M. Honeyman Memorial State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

At time of writing, save monety and buy gas in Florence - we paid 2.19 @ Shell. Gas stations south and north of Florence were anywhere up to 2.79! Quite a savings.

Only at the park for 1 night, so did not "do" Florence, so cannot comment on what's there to see and do.

As with all Oregon state parks, this campground is clean, quiet, and a wonderful place to camp. Our site was large and full of shade with tons of room behind our motorhome. The restrooms and showers are immaculate, although the buildings have been around for a while. There is no cable or Wi-Fi here, but we were able to get a few channels with our antenna and there was good coverage with Verizon. There is a very nice trail to run/walk on and to walk your dog. The campground was not busy while we were there, however later in the summer it would be a good idea to make reservations on their website or 800 number. We would stay here again. Huge state park very close to the sand dunes. If you stay in the H Loop the noise from the ATV's is louder and the sites are less sheltered than some of the other loops so it can be windy. Dump station worked well. Firewood available from park hosts. We camped at Jesse M. Honeyman Memorial State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

One of my favorite Oregon State Parks. I stayed in a level shaded spot with water and electricity. There are several nice easy paths to walk, one of which ended at the lake where you can swim or kayak. Friendly, polite check-in. Stayed here in a Class B with my pet. We camped at Jesse M. Honeyman Memorial State Park in a Motorhome.

Great state park with close access to water. However, we were told it's a 2 mile walk in sand to the dunes by the ocean. We stayed for 2 nights in a 25 ft RV in spot 268. It,s right next to the playground and shower/washrooms. Spot was quiet and surrounded by trees. There was dune buggy rentals close by down south by a 5 minute drive. Not cheap though....$150/hour to rent your own or $30 a person for an escorted tour on a big buggy that last about 30 mins. Firewood is sold on site for $5 a bundle. Would be back again! We camped at Jesse M. Honeyman Memorial State Park in a Motorhome.

This park is situated in a redwood forest along the Oregon Coast, against the Oregon Sand Dunes which provide a buffer zone between the campground and the Pacific Ocean. It is often windy and a bit cold here during the summer, though when we stayed the skies stayed sunny during the day, which helps. RV sites have either water & electric, or full hookups (with sewer). Sites for the latter are confined to the H-loop, which is a slightly less attractive area due to a lower density of trees. Also regarding full hookup sites, sewer drains are located near the front, while the electric box is at the rear of the site, making connections potentially difficult. The park has a playground and nature center (F-loop) with educational programs for kids. Shower stalls are roomy and are operated with a push-button (no hot/cold control), but we found the water pressure and temperature to both be comfortable. Fire rings are provided, and campground hosts sell firewood. Within the park there is also a beach on a small lake, with boat & PFD rentals for a nominal charge. The state of Oregon takes good care of this park. Despite a few shortcomings, this is a fine, economical place for families to camp along the Oregon coast, and with all the activities one can do in nearby Florence and the surrounding area, I recommend it. We camped at Jesse M. Honeyman Memorial State Park in a Motorhome.

I am rating this campground as a 6 because it is barely passes as appropriate for our 40 foot RV with 4 slides. The sites are quite narrow, so that the slides hit branches when extended. The site was somewhat difficult to back into. However, if one had a shorter RV, especially with only slides on one side, this park would rate much higher. The RV sites are in the forest and the park area is quite striking, indeed making the difficulty in getting into the site worthwhile. The nearby Oregon coast area is beautiful and interesting to visit. There is no sewer hookup, the electric is 30 amps, and water hookup was satisfactory. Since this is in the forest, there is no satellite service. Restroom and showers were clean and well maintained. We camped at Jesse M. Honeyman Memorial State Park in a Motorhome.
