This is a beautiful, well maintained county park. The reservation system is very organized. The sites are nicely spaced and lined with trees. We were in F15 (based on another review) and it was really a nice, long site. There are walking/hiking trails throughout the park, and along The Santiam. It is right off the Santiam Hwy., but is very quiet at night. A real winner! We camped at River Bend County Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Absolute jem of a park. The camp hosts and rangers do a great job to maintain a spotlees facility and make everyone welcome. All sites are paved and all appear to be level. F15 certainly was. The site was easy to back in our 43' coach. Roads are wide and overhead branches trimmed appropriately. Some sites are open enough for satellite dishes, but most are pretty shaded. Great play areas for kids, large fields for dogs and good trails to walk. Great heated showers. It was way too cold in March and the river was almost at flood stage, so no swimming or even wading was attempted, but during the summer I'll bet the river is the main draw for this park. We camped at River Bend County Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Shopping and fuel about 12 miles west in Sweet Home. Sisters is about 65 miles east and worth the trip for the day. It's a very scenic drive, but expect traffic. No firewood sales in the park so plan accordingly. No ATT&T service and I was told most other cell services didn't work at all or poorly. We had to drive almost to Sweet Hime to get a usable signal.

Overall Rating:

We really liked this campground. The river/swimming access is not quite as convenient or as nice, compared to some other places, but otherwise it is a very nice, newer campground. It is clean and well kept. The site we were in didn't have much shade, and there are fewer large trees in this campground than in some others, but we have a pop up canopy so it was fine. People here did seem to be very good at abiding by the campground rules. We camped at River Bend County Park in a Travel Trailer.
