Park has new owners who are experienced RVers and therefore know what needs to be done and are working very hard to make improvements to what is already a very good campground. Owners were friendly and very helpful. Our site was level and long enough we wouldn't have needed to disconnect. The setting is quiet and has easy access to a long sandy beach. There is a resident herd of elk on the property which we enjoyed watching. The restaurant is undergoing renovation to be opened in May, but will no longer feature German food. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Honey Bear is a very comfortable and quiet park with decent site separation and good access to the beach. Octoberfest was in full swing at the park during our stay with great food and entertainment. The staff was extremely cordial and helpful. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

There is not much to do within walking distance other that the great beach and on site restaurant. Park is very dog friendly overall with an additional 15 acre annex that is off leash.

Glen was more than accommodating. Its just off 101, very quiet, wooded, peaceful and there is a trail for beach access. There is also a German restaurant on site which is also very good. You won't regret staying here. The best place we found on the southern coast. Can't wait to go back. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

If available, ask for spot 15. You're tucked in a corner and can see and hear the ocean surf while sleeping under the pines. Loved it !

It was so well worth it! It was peaceful and relaxing. The weather was perfect albeit a bit windy. The sites are a little odd in the area that I was in the site next to me faced in to ours so it was sort of like sharing a common are between the two of us. I don't think that all sites are situated that way, but ours were. The other issue when I pulled the black water tank valve to open the drain in the site next to us bubbled up quickly. It was a bit messy, but I quickly closed our slide drain to lower the flow. I think this drain may need a clean-out. So that was the worst thing about the park. Everything else was absolutely wonderful. The staff was friendly, the on site restaurant was fun and Gary was entertaining. We are looking forward to our next visit to this area. Oh, while you are there, be sure to take home some bratwurst. We took a pack home and they were the leanest brats I've ever had. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

This park is as cute as it's name. Clean, lots of flowers, wonderfully kind owners and quiet. The laundry room was clean and not that expensive. We stayed 4 nights. We ate one night at their wonderful German restaurant right here at the park, and listened to the owner entertain with his harmonica and jokes afterwards. The food was great and not that expensive. They have a huge meadow down below with a small creek where our dog played. Some of the sites are close, but most are great. We had a paved pad with pavement under the picnic table and a fire pit. Very family friendly. If we weren't on to our next venture we would definitely have stayed longer. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Jerry's Rogue River Jet Boats. The 104 mile trip leaving at 11:30 with dinner was so fun. Visit the Port Hole restaurant: it's really, really good. Had cod and chips 1 eve (never really liked cod but didn't seem to be any halibut around, so tried it). It was absolutely wonderful. Lots of beach to walk on. The beach from this park is right across hwy 101. Gold Beach tends to be very windy though. Take home some fresh seafood from Fisherman's Direct Market right next to the Porthole.

Nice place and the man at check-in was very nice. Plenty of room to navigate through the park. We were in a 40ft motorhome pulling a pickup. The site had a small concrete pad to park on and the rest was grass. Utilities were right where we needed them and power was 50 amp and good. Wish we had more time to stay. If in the area again, I would definitely come back. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

I don't write these things much but I would hope anyone considering this park wouldn't change their minds based on some recent reviews. I would give this park an 11 out of 10 if I could.

We had a pull through for our RV and toad and we had enough room to fit a few more cars. It was level and shady and so pretty. I cannot speak to any other sites but everything worked well it was nice not seeing so many golf carts driving around all the time. By far the best park we've stayed in since we left back in May. They are not rude; they are German. Please lighten up on writing reviews about how polite someone is based on a phone call. I would hate for anyone to pass this place up for that! Tips for other Campers:

The food is fabulous and so worth the cost. For $12.95 you can have the chicken which is so tender or have the German meal of the day which is delicious too for a couple dollars more. And the side dishes are delicious and plentiful and after everyone is served, you can go back for seconds. Dessert is delicious too and included! So, just a bonus on top of the campground.

The rate reflects the monthly rate. Our view of the ocean was really wonderful. However, not all "ocean view" sites really have an ocean view. The campground itself is quiet and the layout is really nice. Lots of trees, flowers, bushes, meadows and great areas for tenters. Easy access to beach, even though one needs to cross HY 101. Unfortunately, electricity wiring is old, and of low voltage , WiFi is a joke, and cable TV needs to be drastically upgraded.

The owner cooks, and serves "German" dinner from Tuesday to Saturday. He also entertains the guests with his harmonica after dinner. Of course, different people, different tastes ... So everyone has to judge by themselves. However, in our opinion the food was too expensive in comparison to the taste. Also, we thought the owner to be a little too grumpy, and sometimes even rude towards us, meaning his guests. We did not use the showers/bathrooms.

In short the campground as well as the owner needs to be overhauled. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed four nights. Owner was great and put on a good dinner show. The German meal was fantastic and it was only $15.99 each. The only little SNAFU was the cable TV which didn't come in very well. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Very easy access and large open spots for any size RV. Park is only about a quarter of a mile from the Pacific. Spring break was a great time to stay at this campground as it was not busy at all.

Did not stay here! We were not sure of the day of arrival yet but wanted to check availability for the time frame. The person I spoke to very rudely said to call back when I knew when what we were doing. If they were that rude on the phone I certainly wasn't going to give them my business. Well maintained park, older amenities that have been carefully kept up. There is sun, shade, walking trails and meadows for dogs. Short walk to the beach. There are some long timers and a good mix of open sites for travelers like us. Everyone, especially owners, very friendly. Bonus is the Black Forest Kitchen where they make and sell a mix of German meats. Also, they do a German Dinner in the restaurant, rabbit and salmon on our night was yummy. The Siren Cafe in Port Orford has great homemade muffins that are perfect for an early start north on 101. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

A three night stay, and not a bad campground. Not manicured real well, but we had a super site. Ask for site #2 in the ocean view section. Wife did laundry, but half the machines were not working. They have a German restaurant, but it was not open while we were there. We would stay again. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

We were part of a group, thus the rate quote. Interesting park but even though our group possessed rigs of 40' or greater, it's hard to recommend this park for rigs this size. There are nice long pull throughs, but it's tight going in and out. Trees were also an issue and a few need to be trimmed. Although we didn't have any problems several in our group experienced low voltage and power issues. There is a German restaurant at the park and the beaches are within walking distance. Group rate. Pull throughs are big enough for 45 MH. Now the bad stuff. I was here in 2008 and power was so low it tripped my surge protector. This time I was with a group, and over 1/2 of us had power issues that were so bad we just unplugged and used our gen sets. One of our group was an electrician and used his test gear on circuits. He was not impressed. Also turns around entry are tight and per usual tress will scrape your coach. So not much improved or fixed since 2008.
