We stayed here with a group of 13 rigs. After you check in they guide you to your site, show you where all the hookups are and are really glad you're here. They owner and his team are really there to make your stay enjoyable. As we came in as a group of 28 people we asked if we could all have dinner in his restaurant. He told us he would have to serve us in batches because his restaurant only had a grill big enough to serve 6-8 orders at a time but if we came in at 5 he would make it work - and they did! Have the ribs for dinner they were excellent. While we were the owner or one of his team stopped by every day to see if there was anything we needed or anything that they could do to help us! This is customer service. The WiFi actually works here! We've been traveling up the Pacific coast and this is the first park that actually has good WiFi. They had a 3 stall portable bathroom/shower near our site that was very nice. I really recommend this park. The only thing to ask when you make your reservation is if you are going to use your satellite dish, mention it since some of the sites are in a forest. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

While we were there we went south to Gold Beach and went on Jerry's Jet Boats and it was great. You will get wet! It is seasonal so check their web site for info.

Several large flat grass areas for tents. Tent sites seem spacious. A real forest setting. Charming camping experience. Not like those parks that look like a parking lot. Fire ring provided. Covered with huge mature trees. Duff and grass sites are almost level. Some concrete pads. We were able to get great satellite and cable tv. Probably should ask if trees at your assigned site allow for reception. Also should probably ask if your site is in the sun or shade. We had shade all day. With the cool ocean breeze I would have enjoyed some sun. Free wi-fi is great! A huge meadow for dogs off leash and plenty of trails for on leash walks. Quiet. Beautiful. So cool to go to sleep with the sounds of the ocean. Although not right on the ocean they have a spacious trail to a beach park or you can drive. Plenty of parking. Picnic tables. Bathroom. Water fountains. Nice beach!! Looks like they're working on upgrades. Many new picnic tables. Piles of gravel to upgrade dusty roads. The laundromat is way to small for such a large park. Dire need of an upgrade. 3 washers at $1.75. 4 dryers at $1.25. I had bulky bedding and a weeks worth of personal laundry. Had to go in town to find a laundromat with many commercial washers. 2 showers. 2 toilets. 2 sinks. In men's bathroom. Again way too small but clean. Restaurant right here! Open Thurs-Sun. Guitarist after 6pm. Ribs, hamburgers, salads, and special nachos with pulled pork as the meat-Wow!! Great food! Can get it to go! Plus chocolate mousse cake!! And a full bar! Our site just had water, power and cable. The owner said we were given a discounted rate for our site because it didn't have sewer. But then we were charged an additional $10 to use their dumping station so wasn't a discount for the inconvenience. Very hard to keep RV clean with pine needles and morning dew which translates to muddy dogs. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The roads were navigable but poorly labeled and sort of maze-like. The map had trails to the meadow labeled but no signage on the roads. Need "To Meadow." "To dump station." "To Rainbow Loop." I got turned around a couple of times and my dog walk turned into a safari.

This is under new ownership since the last time I stayed there (about two years ago). The site was nice before, but the new owners are making lots of noticeable improvements (upgraded landscaping, new picnic tables, expansion of the park). The owners are very involved in the day-to-day operations. Very friendly staff, very clean, small convenience store and restaurant. If you have a dog, there is plenty of open areas to walk your pet. Will definitely stay here again when traveling through. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a cute park. We stayed for 2 nights. You can hear the ocean waves at night. They server dinner Thursday-Sunday. We had the pulled pork and it was fantastic. The owner was very helpful and accommodating. Every site has a picnic table and a fire ring plus full hook-ups. The laundry is old but clean. We would definitely return if in the area. Nice park a bit north of Gold Beach. At night, you could hear the ocean waves crashing. We had a good pull through that was long enough for out 40' and car trailer. Restrooms were clean. The restaurant seemed to be the happening place nightly. I think that's a neat idea...having a restaurant right on the grounds. Wi-Fi worked great. We stayed for four nights at Honey Bear By The Sea park in a 40' fifth wheel. We stayed in site 36, a pull-through site with 50 amp. Since we were at the end of the row, we had slightly more space on our door side than our neighbors but it was a little shorter (as noted on their website). The tent sites appear to be extremely large. The campground was quite tidy. The office staff was quite friendly. We got take-out from the restaurant and it was very good and reasonably priced. The laundry room and bathrooms were clean. Washers were $1.75 and dryers were $1.25. There were short nature walks around the campground and the beach was a short trail and across Hwy 101. The playground area looked nice and there was a game room above the restaurant. There was a huge forest fire raging near Brookings so the air was quite smoky most of our stay (not the campground's fault). Otherwise, we would have spent more time exploring the campground. Although the campground has a Gold Beach address, it is actually nine miles north of the city of Gold Beach. We would return if in the area and there were no forest fires nearby. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

What a great park. The new owners took over last fall and are in the process of doing many upgrades. Park has several different rv/tent areas, also meadows, there are deer and elk in the park. Very large off leash dog area for rover. FHU's good, mid pad, good water pressure, 123 v. electricity. We unhooked toad at site. Park has a cable and also a number of sites are satellite friendly. (Mostly in the Sea View Circle area.) If you prefer a wooded site there are many of them as well. Site surfaces range from asphalt, to cement landing strips, to gravel/dirt. Camp hosts are great and can't seem to do enough for you. The restaurant was not open (being remolded) as of this writing, but they said it was due to open soon. Laundry is $1.75 wash $1.25 dry: 3 washers and 4 driers open 24 hours.

I was in site 36, level. No one on one side. Asphalt, level. Could not get coach satellite, used carryout. Verizon and T-Mobile cell signal good. Park wifi good, but park was not full. They will guide you to your site, the owners are really the nicest we have met. We wish we could have stayed longer. Truly a great campground. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Grocery, Ace hardware in town. In Oregon they have to pump gas for you! Shell in town good for gassers. Go to Woggy's for fish and chips. Beach is close to the campground for a great walk. Look for the shipwreck under the bridge. Lots of scenic viewpoints on the 101.

This is one of the gems on the Oregon coast. Large sites, beautiful grounds with elk, hiking trails and ponds. Great ocean views. However the biggest plus of this place is the owners. They are friendly welcoming informative and will do whatever it takes to make sure you have a great stay. Things always happen but its the way it is handled. The owner goes out of his way to make sure you are happy and have what you need. This was one of the most beautiful campgrounds we stayed at. Well worth it! Thank you for a lovely spot and a great stay. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed in this park for 3 enjoyable nights. This setting truly is magical. We had an Ocean view and could even hear the sounds of the waves hitting the beach. Extensive undeveloped area within the park grounds features walking paths, multiple ponds, and a creek which allow for tranquility and enjoyment of nature. Staff was dedicated to making our stay special. Will for sure stay here again. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

We checked out nearby Coastal Communities & harbors and took several beautiful drives into the rural countryside including one which follows the picturesque Rouge River. As an added bonus, we saw several deer & elk as well as eagles & hawks.

Park has new owners who are experienced RVers and therefore know what needs to be done and are working very hard to make improvements to what is already a very good campground. Owners were friendly and very helpful. Our site was level and long enough we wouldn't have needed to disconnect. The setting is quiet and has easy access to a long sandy beach. There is a resident herd of elk on the property which we enjoyed watching. The restaurant is undergoing renovation to be opened in May, but will no longer feature German food. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

I have lived at Honey Bear since 2014 as a full-time resident. This park is the best in the area, in my opinion. The park is very clean, with TONS of azaleas, rhododendrons, and colorful flower beds.

You can stay in an open, sunny spot or nestle your rig under tall Douglas Fir trees. The beach is a 5-minute walk away, accessible from a Rest Stop (bathrooms, yay!), and you can walk for miles.

"Magical" is how I'd describe Honey Bear. I have enjoyed living here and have made many friends, and while my circumstances have changed and I will be leaving soon, I will miss it. Do yourself a favor and spend lots of time at Honey Bear! We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This park is as cute as it's name. Clean, lots of flowers, wonderfully kind owners and quiet. The laundry room was clean and not that expensive. We stayed 4 nights. We ate one night at their wonderful German restaurant right here at the park, and listened to the owner entertain with his harmonica and jokes afterwards. The food was great and not that expensive. They have a huge meadow down below with a small creek where our dog played. Some of the sites are close, but most are great. We had a paved pad with pavement under the picnic table and a fire pit. Very family friendly. If we weren't on to our next venture we would definitely have stayed longer. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Jerry's Rogue River Jet Boats. The 104 mile trip leaving at 11:30 with dinner was so fun. Visit the Port Hole restaurant: it's really, really good. Had cod and chips 1 eve (never really liked cod but didn't seem to be any halibut around, so tried it). It was absolutely wonderful. Lots of beach to walk on. The beach from this park is right across hwy 101. Gold Beach tends to be very windy though. Take home some fresh seafood from Fisherman's Direct Market right next to the Porthole.

It was so well worth it! It was peaceful and relaxing. The weather was perfect albeit a bit windy. The sites are a little odd in the area that I was in the site next to me faced in to ours so it was sort of like sharing a common are between the two of us. I don't think that all sites are situated that way, but ours were. The other issue when I pulled the black water tank valve to open the drain in the site next to us bubbled up quickly. It was a bit messy, but I quickly closed our slide drain to lower the flow. I think this drain may need a clean-out. So that was the worst thing about the park. Everything else was absolutely wonderful. The staff was friendly, the on site restaurant was fun and Gary was entertaining. We are looking forward to our next visit to this area. Oh, while you are there, be sure to take home some bratwurst. We took a pack home and they were the leanest brats I've ever had.
