I want to keep this one all to myself! Beautiful and quiet. Weekend is approaching so I don't know about noise factor but right now I can hear myself breath! Water is available and you can dump grey into these pots but no black dump. There is a free one downtown near the cop shop. One of the nicest places we've stayed! Huge long sites backing up to beach and river. Showers are 2$ and lasted way longer than I wanted or needed! We camped at Huntley Park in a Fifth Wheel.

About seven miles from town. Great little shops and nice town.

Overall Rating:

Stayed 7 nights, which is discounted to $77. A great deal, considering the campground has flush toilets and coin operated showers. Most sites are RV friendly. The camp sits right on the Rogue River and there are nice trails out of the camp. Its close to Gold Beach, so there is no worry about needs. The town sports river jet boat tours and are a great experience.

I gave this camp a poor rating because of the lack of management. Despite the fact that there are 2 hosts on site, noisey campers go unchecked well into the night and sites go uncleaned between occupants. We camped at Huntley Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

This park was a delightful surprise that we happened upon driving along the "coastal route" from Merlin, OR to Gold Beach. If you are looking for an inexpensive place without hookups this is a great option. It is right on the Rogue River. The spaces vary from small ones in the trees to huge ones along the river. There are flush toilets and (pay) showers (didn't use them, but they seemed fine). I think the back in sites along the river would accommodate even big rigs...there were several big fifth wheels there. There is also a nice day use area and motor vehicle access to the huge gravel bar (awesome rockhounding!). We were here on a Thursday in late June and there was lots of space available. I would imagine that the place probably fills up quickly during prime fishing time though. There is a little store that was closed when we got there but I know they sell firewood and ice at least. Didn't see a dump station, so plan accordingly. We would definitely stop here again. We camped at Huntley Park in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

If you have a small rig and enjoy back country mountain driving, the BLM/Forest Service road "coastal route" from I-5 (starting in Merlin, OR) to Gold Beach, OR is a great drive. It's all paved except for some very short gravel sections. It is pretty demanding being narrow and twisty with lots of blind corners but the scenery is great and it's a nice break from the long drive down through northern CA and back up the coast from the Crescent City, CA area.
