I never received service the office was closed at 1 PM when we arrived. It's a great place to just spend the night. We've stayed twice. Dirt pad. Pool, playground. Clean nice bathrooms. Shaded spots. We camped at Medford / Gold Hill KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Had gravel, pull through site. It took one 2" board and one 1" board to level the trailer side to side. There is grass on both sides of site. WI-FI and AT&T work well. Camp K-9 was full of stickers. Only used it once. Cable TV worked well. Nice small pool and play ground. Very smoky from forest fires. Office staff were friendly. There are trees that will provide shade depending on the location of the sun. My rig is 50 ft long when connected. Site was long enough that I did not have to disconnect the truck. Would stay here again if traveling on I-5. We camped at Medford / Gold Hill KOA in a Travel Trailer.

For a journey particularly, this is a very nice KOA. Not a typical gravel parking lot. There are two sections to the park - long term and short term. We stayed in the short term. The sites are narrow but long enough for our 45' class A plus tow. We happened to show up while the office was closed (1 pm) but they provide a list of available spots to the left of the door. We chose a spot and set up without issue. This place is kind of in the middle of nowhere. Nothing in the vicinity. It is very close to I5 so convenient on/off. You do have traffic noise. Neighbors are cows and sheep. It's a private spot. We wouldn't go out of our way to stay here but would do so if we were passing through again. We camped at Medford / Gold Hill KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for two months while visiting the area. The rate reflects a monthly rate with electricity billed separately. Some have noted difficulty in locating the CG; note that the actual address is Central Point, even though the CG is next to Gold Hill, about 10 miles north of Medford.

The low rating is because we had two bicycles stolen. In our 11 years of full-time we had never had anything stolen. At this KOA, during the night, someone cut the lock and took the two expensive bikes. In talking with other campers, this was not the only case of theft in the park, including bicycles. Most of the park is long-term campers. Nothing wrong with that, but there are some pretty shady looking folks around. Also, Gold Hill has a lot of street people. We never felt completely safe there.

The owners are mostly absent. The park is run by workcampers that are very nice, but it has more of a feel of a trailer park than a KOA. So, if you do stay there, lock and protect your stuff.

There is some road noise since the CG is right off of Interstate. It was OK in the winter when we had everything closed. The CG is fairly easy to get into and get around. Utilities were good, but sometimes the trash dumpsters were overflowing.

Our Verizon voice and data worked well. We were able to get satellite using our portable dish.

The State Park just a few miles away is much nicer, has full hookups and is cheaper. We would certainly stay there rather than this Gold Hill KOA. We camped at Medford / Gold Hill KOA in a Motorhome.

Our Garmin GPS couldn't quite get us to the CG. It kept wanting to put us in a continual loop, north on I-5 then south on I-5; rinse, repeat. Wife's phone got us there. All access roads are asphalt, lined, in excellent condition. Big KOA sign can't be missed. Staff and owners are friendly and helpful. Credit cards accepted. Tent camping, cabins, no yurts. CG roads are asphalt, somewhat narrow, in excellent condition. Gentle turns but watch for trees and barricade posts, no overhead obstacles. FHU-20/30/50. Sites are dirt with grass between, level with pedestal location at mid-rig, sewer at rear just above ground level. No patios, have picnic tables. Tall trees challenge satellite views. Fires permitted depending on drought conditions. Firewood sold in office. Fair water pressure with good taste. Nice office store with some groceries, souvenirs, soft drinks, some RV items. Clean, modern restrooms/showers with lots of hot water (score "A"). Propane at $3.00/gallon. Laundry with restricted hours. Token playground. Cable TV. Free Wi-Fi but very limited bandwidth (hard to download anything). Verizon coverage at "4-bars"; Jetpack 4G coverage at "4-bars". Seasonal pool. No noise. Bug Report: tree wasps (no issues as CG has placed traps). No recycle bins. We camped at Medford / Gold Hill KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Go north on OR-99 to Gold Hills for local groceries and quaint shops. Good but pricey pizza at Abby's in Rogue River, Oregon. "Valley of the Rogue River" state park. Diesel in Rogue River about $2.60/gal or exit 33 on I-5 at $2.459. No Camping World or other RV stores sighted. Groceries at Albertsons, also at exit 33 off I-5, south.

Stayed 2 days while we toured the area and Crater Lake NP. Good hook-ups, clean spacious sites. Level dirt sites, wouldn't want to be here during a rainy time. Gas at the Gold Hill exit is super-duper high, fuel before you get to Gold Hill. Would stay again. We camped at Medford / Gold Hill KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This campground has it all. Clean and comfortable bath houses, nice laundry facility, good camp store, well shaded sites, a small stream running through the grounds, and a generally friendly and helpful staff. There is nightly entertainment in the sundown arrival of two wild turkey hens and there broods who roam through the camp and then ascend en masse into their roost in the trees above. Quite a site! The surrounding area (Rogue River) is lots of fun with rafting and fishing. There's lots to do if you want it as restaurants and night spots abound. Crater Lake National Park is about 90 minutes away. If we are ever in the area again this is where we'll stay. We camped at Medford / Gold Hill KOA in a Travel Trailer.

KOA discount for a FHU, 50 amp, pull-thru, level, dirt site with surrounding grass area under trees. Basic cable TV. No satellite reception because of trees. WiFi work okay. Good Verizon cell and MiFi reception. There was not much noise from I-5. We stayed for three nights to visit Crater Lake National Park and Oregon Cave National Monument. First KOA visit in a long time. A bit disappointing only had water and 30 amp at our site but was able to pull forward in the gravel site and get a signal

Campsite had discarded trash and a dead bird on arrival. Campground in general was somewhat run down. Surprised that a KOA was this worn. Site was level. Staff was friendly and when site problems were brought to their attention the problems were addressed quickly

Requires driving for restaurants and supplies as facility is rural. We camped at Medford / Gold Hill KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed here 3 nights in mid-May. This is a typical KOA that is fairly-well kept up. The park has a fair number of long-term campers but many were in well-kept rigs. Roads were paved, trees were decently trimmed, sites were gravel. Adequate areas to walk dogs. We camped at Medford / Gold Hill KOA in a Motorhome.

There are not many restauarants in nearby Gold Hill. Figaro's Pizza was OK for dinner and nicely run. The historic town of Jacksonville, river activities on the Rogue River, and many small wineries are nearby.

This park is an easy exit off Interstate 5 to Hwy 99. It does sit between these two roads so there is some traffic noise. This is an older KOA so the roads can be a bit narrow with sharp turns at times but was very doable in our big rig (40ft and toad). We stayed in a water/electric only site that was on a row of alternating level gravel pull thrus. This park is well treed so getting satellite will be tricky. We were given site #42 that was easy to pull into, had a picnic table and bit of open sky for reception. Sprint phone and 3G worked fine as did their free WIFI. Dump station and propane fill were on the way out. Bathrooms and laundry were clean and well kept. Staff was friendly and helpful. We camped at Medford / Gold Hill KOA in a Motorhome.

Decent place to stop for the night. Tight turn and pull-through. Sites not paved, but good shade. I expected more from a KOA. We probably wouldn't stay here again. We camped at Medford / Gold Hill KOA in a Travel Trailer.
