There are 500+ sites on several loops amongst the trees. It's quiet and the sites are nicely separated/private. We camped at Fort Stevens State Park in a Motorhome.

Stated two nights. Beautiful park setting. We were lucky and got a site in the end. Other sites are quite close to each other. Sewer connections, but only in certain loops. We camped at Fort Stevens State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Folks it doesn't get better than this for a state park. Full hookups, shady sites, plenty of room, great hiking and biking trails, level sites, walkable to the beaches and all for $32 night. I struggle to find any faults but I will say that you may not get cell service if you don't have a booster. With a booster, I was able to pull in solid Verizon, AT&T mobile but without one, not so much. Even with a booster, Verizon was slow (2mbps). T mobile and ATT were better (3-5mbps). Lots of OTA channels. All together this is one of my favorite state parks ever. The surroundings are so gorgeous and the beaches (while too cold to swim) are tranquil. Everywhere is dog friendly including the beaches. Fun area to explore. Check out Seaside for a cute town to shop in. We camped at Fort Stevens State Park in a Motorhome.

Its a state park. What else is there to say. They are very busy and therefore your well being is not number one but again it's a state park. Very nice grounds etc. We wouldn't stay here again but I think it has more to do with the darkness of the campground. The beach can be gloomy enough without being blocked out from the sun completely.Had to jack knife the rig to get the fifth wheel in this spot but we made it. We camped at Fort Stevens State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Busy park with many group campers and active children riding bikes. Very nice walking/biking paths, paved and unpaved. Easy access to the day use areas that have huge parking lots and quick access to the ocean and beach. These parking lots can easily accommodate motorhomes. Because our site was not available when we checked in (we arrived very early) we were directed to one of the day use areas. The south jetty afforded whale watching opportunities. Astoria is a short drive away. We particularly liked going to the Column with the panoramic view of the area. We camped at Fort Stevens State Park in a Motorhome.

Our favorite Oregon state park! This place is huge and has so much to offer. The campsites are very nice and we fit fine in our 40 ft. 5th wheel. I loved the miles of paved bike trails. We visited the fort/historical area and the ship wreck on the beach. There is a lake where you can fish. The northern tip of the park is beautiful where you can see the ocean on one side and the mouth of the Columbia river on the other side. On a clear day you can see Astoria across the river as well as the state of Washington. We only stayed 4 days and really could have spent more time. Next time we are in Oregon we will definitely come back. Verizon was pretty weak, but worked okay with a booster, AT&T worked better. We camped at Fort Stevens State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

One of our best camping experiences in 40 years of camping. So much to do at this park and in the area - ocean, lake, history, and shopping. Granddaughters enjoyed riding bikes - nice hiking trails - only negative was too many mosquitoes so make sure you are prepared. We camped at Fort Stevens State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Large campground with lots to do. Typical nice Oregon State Park. We enjoyed the many trails and also used the camp as our base to explore nearby Astoria. We also crossed over into Washington and explored the Columbia from that side of the river. We arrived early but were not able to get into our site because they had a large group that just exited the area and it wasn't cleaned up. The staff showed us where to park our MH until we could get in which allowed us to enjoy the park while waiting. We camped at Fort Stevens State Park in a Motorhome.

Like most Oregon State Park this park is excellent - however the mosquitoes were so thick that it mitigated the other benefits that this park provides. The Oregon website says they use mosquito abatement but that apparently was before the budget cutbacks. We camped at Fort Stevens State Park in a Motorhome.

June 19,20 Fort Stevens State Park, near Astoria, Oregon Over 500 sites with full hookups, water and electric, and just water. $32 Site Loop L 39 This is the largest campground in the Oregon St ate Park system. It is on a split between the Pacific and the Columbia River. There are fifteen loops and most with showers. We were warned that this park is buggy but we found our site was buggy but most of the park we did not have problems with them. Beautiful long beach but there is also swimming in the Columbia River. The remains of the Historic Peter Iredale Shipwreck is on the beach. There are a few freshwater lakes in the park and over ten miles of bike trails. Historic Fort Stevens built before the Civil War to protect the mouth of the Columbia River and used until the end of WW2 is located here with a museum, tours and ranger talks. Gun Batteries and some of the structures of the fort are still there to visit. It is a nice state park and very popular. We camped at Fort Stevens State Park in a Motorhome.

May and June we camped here. Mosquitoes were quite abundant! Shower never got hot water for me, but my husband got there early and had a good shower. Lovely campground, lots and lots of bike trails. It is NOT a short stroll to the beach from the camping loops but a sturdy walk which is certainly doable, for most. We were in Loop F both times. We camped at Fort Stevens State Park in a Motorhome.

The unbelievable mosquito infestation made the park unusable. You couldn't sit outside at all because of them. We cut our trip short because we just couldn't stand the mosquitoes anymore. Additionally The electrical grid in the park couldn't keep up with the demand from people wanting to use their air-conditioners. Our breaker kept popping so there was no relief outside or inside. Those two things together will stop us from going again. We camped at Fort Stevens State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mosquitoes!! As previous reviewers have stated, a very nice park but who cares if you're swarmed every time you step outside. Looks like there are nice places to walk but no way we're doing that. Park even sent an email a few weeks before we arrived stating they would be doing mosquito abatement but if they did it was completely ineffective. Spoke with locals in RV shop who told me the park is known for mosquitoes. Standing water in several places in park so no surprise. Leaving a day early and won't be back unless I read reviews that the issue has been addressed. Did I mention the mosquitoes? We camped at Fort Stevens State Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here primarily as a stopping point to visit Seaside and Astoria. While the park is huge, we actually spent little time exploring the park. We basically slept here in the RV. The sites were rather cramped together, and the mosquitoes were quite bad. We camped at Fort Stevens State Park in a Travel Trailer.
