The previous review is accurate about the park. Excellent 2 day stop to rest and catch up. Across HWY 395 to the west is a quiet dirt road for long walks with the dog. To the north are the Strawberry Mtns. If you are looking for no frills, inexpensive place to relax for a couple of days, this is an excellent choice. Owner was very friendly. There is a lumber operation to the east, but the noise was not an issue. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Seneca Timber Inns and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Go 25 miles north to John Day and tour the Kam Wah Chung National Historic Site. It is the Chinese equivalent of the Hubble Trading Post in AZ, a remarkable story of 2 entrepreneurial Chinese immigrants who changed a community.

Overall Rating:

The park is located 25 miles south of John Day Oregon on Highway 395. It is not a resort but it definitely is a nice to stay. There are no extra amenities but if you're looking for a quiet place to stay with pull-through sites for a few nights, this will work. It is a plain and simple RV park with no store, no playground and no pet area. There are, however, areas to allow your dogs to run and play. We camped here in a 45 motorhome with a tow and the site wasn't quite long enough but we made it work without making it an inconvenience for others. The owners are very nice and we will definitely stay here again. I would have rated this park a 10 but deducted one point because the sites aren't long enough to accommodate a 45' RV with a tow. We camped at Seneca Timber Inns and RV Park in a Motorhome.
