This is a tough one to review objectively because of the weather situation when we were there. The entire PacNW was in the 90s-100s under a heat alert and it was imperative to find shade & AC. We saw this private park advertised in the tourist literature showing shade trees & advertising shady spots. Unfortunately, when we got there we discovered the only shade was in the tent camping area and all of the RV spots were exposed in the blazing sun, not a shade tree around. We couldn't even leave our awning out while we went into town to cool off because of the potential for high winds. So we were pretty disappointed in the physical difference between what we expected & what we got re shade & trees. That being said, the office staff were extremely friendly & helpful and the laundry & shower areas were spotless. In more milder weather, it would be a fine overnight spot. Sites were level and pull-through. No road noise & quiet at night. We camped at Eagles Hot Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Not much to do in La Grande, esp. when it's hot. Nearby shopping includes a very nice Safeway in town & Wal-Mart further out. Lots of places to gas up near I-84.

This park is easy in/out. We had full hookups with 50 amp which all worked well, including running 3 ACs. Site was gravel, level and had picnic table, with a patch of grass and small tree which provided shadow shade. Site was long enough for 43' MH & TV and wide enough for 4 slides and not be on top of each other. We didn't use it, but had pool, dog area and rentable pavilion. DirecTV came in and the wifi had good signal as they had several antennae. This was our 2nd visit. We camped at Eagles Hot Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Best way to get to park is exit 265. If you are traveling westbound, there is an exit bringing you in closer to the park, but it's dirt. Nobody tells you that, we found out the hard way on our 1st trip.

Flat, level, easy access sites with full hookups. Even though park was about a third full we were still placed right between two other campers. Pretty landscaped grounds. We were just passing through but would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Eagles Hot Lake RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stay here every year for a Rally with a group of 80+ RV's. Park is large group friendly, both for RV's and tent'rs. Lots of baseball/softball groups seem to use this place. Owners are friendly and helpful. On site rec building easily holds 100+. We camped at Eagles Hot Lake RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

Tours of Historic Union, Elgin, Cove, and a great downtown La Grande.

This is a great older park. It is located 4+ miles off I-84 in a very beautiful, quiet area. The service was g00d. The sites are all very long pull-thrus of gravel and grass. The spacing between sites is rather tight, but we were here before the busy season and it was really quiet. Our site was fairly level. The wifi was great. There were nice areas to dog walk. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Eagles Hot Lake RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Good location with great views. Wi-Fi is really fast. Best I've seen at any RV park. They limit total data download by MAC address. Watched a Netflix movie and was shutdown before the movie was over. All other devices (phones and netbook) worked. Had to install USB Wi-Fi card to restore Internet service to the computer. Can't really complain. Most RV parks have terrible bandwidth. We camped at Eagles Hot Lake RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Went hiking at Catherine Creek State Park. Eat at Mamacitas for good southwest food.

Scenic location along the old Oregon Trail. We woke to a beautiful sunrise in the east and a lovely rainbow to the west. It was a perfect way to begin our first full day on the road. The park is neat and clean with a few nice walking trails. Sites are large and easy to get in to. The park is a bit off the main highway, so it was very quiet. We camped at Eagles Hot Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

We loved this park. The gravel roads and sites are easy to navigate and are flat. There are few trees where campers park but there are lovely, large cottonwoods by the canal, which carries warm spring water from the nearby lake to the CG. The CG buildings are heated by this water in the winter. The nearby "Hotel" has an interesting history. The owners are working to create a top-notch park. The Wi-Fi slowed to a crawl in the evening, and the park was less than 1/4 full. There are nice areas to walk dogs, but an enclosed dog park would be nice. We camped at Eagles Hot Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

A nice scenic park. 30/50 amp all pull-throughs. Gravel roads and sites. 30+ feet wide by 75-90 feet long. OK free Wi-Fi but could be slow at times. Trains no issue. Short gravel entrance road. Friendly owner/managers. AT&T and Verizon both work well. Stayed before and will stay again. We camped at Eagles Hot Lake RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is pretty much a big field with hook-ups. It has lots of rough grass but little shade. A couple big trees around the edge provided shade to sit. Trains go by frequently but aren't too noisy. We moved once to get a more level site but it wasn't a problem as the place wasn't busy. Staff we're friendly. The pool is small but warm. I would stay again. We camped at Eagles Hot Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here years ago and remember we liked it.. We needed to stay in the area for a couple nights. Flat Level Sites. Plenty of room between Sites. All Hookup Services excellent. Easy to make reservations. Easy to check-in. Lady in office very nice and told us about a fun thing to do in area that we didn't know about. The access road from main road is gravel, approx 1/2 mile. Not bad at all. We will come here again and try to stay longer. We camped at Eagles Hot Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was a pleasant, rural RV park. No highway noise, train in the distance but no whistle. All sites are long pull-throughs, about 25% have 50 amp as well as 30 amp service. The roads and drives are gravel, most driveways are fairly level. The grass area between the angled sites is a reasonable width and the Wi-Fi is quite good. There are a few medium to large trees but most sites have no shade. The short drive on the gravel road from Route 203 was not a problem at low speed. We camped at Eagles Hot Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

Our stay here started off very bumpy. The route we used was much shorter but involved three miles of washboard road that left our rig and toad rattled and a dirty mess. Google Maps and our rig GPS had us exiting I-84 (coming from Boise) at the Foothills exit and connecting with Hot Lake Lane. What you want to do is to stay on I-84 until exit 265/Highway 203 and work your way back on Highway 203 to Hot Lake Lane. The RV park itself was very nice. Very nice rural setting. The grounds are lovely. The sites are a grass/gravel mix. They are long and fairly level. No concrete pad but picnic table and grass between sites. Pretty quiet and beautiful starred nights. WiFi worked well and our site got good satellite reception. No cable. The restrooms are clean but a bit dated. Used the RV park as a base to explore the Hells Canyon area. A couple full days driving to see it all but well worth it. We camped at Eagles Hot Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall a very nice park! They didn't require a deposit on my reservation (which I like since I pay cash). Probably the only reason to make a reservation is to get one of their few 50 amp sites. Sites were long and mostly grass with some gravel underneath for support. Easy in/out for big rigs. The heated pool & hot tub were a plus. Don't expect a shaded site as the trees look like recent additions. The free park wifi worked well. Both Verizon & AT&T had good strong signals too. No cable TV if that's important to you. I recommend you arrive via the La Grande-Baker highway 203 so you only have 1/4 mile of dusty gravel to traverse. Otherwise, you have about 2.5 miles of bumpy dusty gravel to get here from I-84 to the south. We camped at Eagles Hot Lake RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Big open park, not much shade. Lawns and gravel not well maintained. Lots of work campers, so pickups leaving early mornings. Easy access for big rigs, about 5 miles out of town and away from the freeway. Railway line is close enough to be be heard but not annoying. We camped at Eagles Hot Lake RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
