Very nice owners. Basic camp with everything you need. Was a little tight for our 42' Allegro bus but it worked out great. We camped at Base Camp RV Park (formerly Hunter RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Good overnite stop. Friendly people and level dirt full hookup 30/50 amp pull thru sites. Great wifi. No cable or over the air but can ask for satellite friendly site. Watch closely for signs, not many turnarounds on U.S. 395. We camped at Base Camp RV Park (formerly Hunter RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Very friendly people in the office, level gravel sites, very good wi fi, quiet place, geiser next door.... some sites have trees and some are open. Not a fancy place. They said they are trying to upgrade all sites to 50 amps. We have stayed here before and will be sure to do so again. We camped at Base Camp RV Park (formerly Hunter RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Convenient, quiet stop-over spot. Owners putting some effort into improving an old park. We had wet weather and the dog's feet had to be wiped down every time she returned because of the mud coming through the gravel surface. Lots of waterfowl near by, because of the refuge. One note is that you should come with your fresh water tank full as the water in the community has been certified as safe, but can be discolored. The town is trying to address the issue as water can range from almost clear to peanut butter in color. We camped at Base Camp RV Park (formerly Hunter RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Just north of the park is an area of thermal activity and you can see "Old Perpetual" from the RV park. I drove over for a quick closeup. (see image). On cooler days, you can see the steam rising from many points on the landscape.

Overall Rating:

Dusty dirt and gravel interior roads and fairly level sites. Our site was shaded, but so close to our neighbor that use of the patio awning was not possible. No table or room to put one. No cable or OTA TV and tough to get a clear shot of satellites with a roof mounted dish. WiFi strength was fair, and Verizon cell/data worked well. Overpriced for what you get, but there's not much else in the area. We camped at Base Camp RV Park (formerly Hunter RV Park) in a Motorhome.

This is a nice clean basic park with a large dog area and a good playground. It has easy access and good interior gravel roads. The site was level and all utilities in good condition. The laundry and restrooms and showers were clean and inviting. After reading some of the other reviews we were hesitant to stay here but we found the sights to be spacious and the host very hospitable. We enjoyed the park. We camped at Base Camp RV Park (formerly Hunter RV Park) in a Motorhome.

There was a mix up on my reservation and had to use 30a and not 50a so got a discount. Power was low but did not need ac so was ok. WIFI so weak you could not use it. This a a old park and could use much needed repair on the roads. You are really close to your neighbor. Too close but this is better than the other parks around here. Sites are so close to each other that the hookups for my site were under the awning of my next door neighbor. Also, the electric and water hookups were near the front of the sites, not the center or rear. Utilities worked well, including WIFI. No cable TV and through the air NBC and CBS came in well and ABC was grainy. No Fox. Clear shot for satellite. Entire park is gravel and dust. All of that said, it is the best place in Lakeview and a good spot for a stopover. We camped at Base Camp RV Park (formerly Hunter RV Park) in a Motorhome.

We found this good to stay overnight. No cable, the wifi worked for us, the owner nice and working to improve the place. There are permanent residents and the overnight people are in the front. There's a truck stop, gas station not far too. We camped at Base Camp RV Park (formerly Hunter RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Not much here but a place to stop overnight. Office staff was friendly and efficient. All we needed to check in was a name and payment, why don't more places make it this easy? Very quiet at night. Verizon voice and data worked ok. We camped at Base Camp RV Park (formerly Hunter RV Park) in a Motorhome.

This park is very well located. We stayed overnight and it was quiet. The spaces are nice but laid out a little difficult. Sewer hookups were located almost in the road with the other services toward the front of the space. It was all gravel and dirt and tons of goathead thistles. So watch your pet's feet. Staff was very friendly. We camped at Base Camp RV Park (formerly Hunter RV Park) in a Motorhome.

This campground is good for what we used it for: a night's sleep when traveling from one place to another. The Wi-Fi worked great. We watched an mlb.tv game using it. The park was practically empty. No need for reservations as we can see. Location is convenient. We would stop again if passing through. It isn't a destination park though. We camped at Base Camp RV Park (formerly Hunter RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.
