Stayed here numerous times. 5 star resort right on the ocean with a "private" beach. Stay in the upper section to see the ocean and have bigger spots. The big news is the resort now has great wifi. We camped at Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort (Formerly Outdoor Resorts) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Beautiful RV resort located on a bluff above the ocean and on the west side of hwy 101. Check-in was easy with escort to site. All sites are back-in, paved, long, extra wide, FHU, and open. Interior roads are also paved and wide enough for easy navigation. There are two pools with clean and modern bathrooms and laundry rooms. There is a gorgeous ocean view from the front sites but there is less wind and it is quieter at the lower sites. This is an ownership park so the amenities and landscaping vary from site to site. There is a trail to the huge, uncrowded, and dog friendly beach. There is also a fenced dog park and green space for walking a large dog. We camped at Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort (Formerly Outdoor Resorts) in a Motorhome.

We booked an ocean-front site and stayed a month. Unfortunately, the sun only came out about three times during our stay. It seemed exceedingly cold to us. We weren't prepared for the mist, cold and wind. The beach is a bit of a slope to get to but accessible. The area is strategically placed to be within an hour's drive of some incredible areas including Cape Perpetua, Cape Foulweather, and Heceta Lighthouse. We loved the clubhouse and the indoor pool and spa. There were lots of others that also enjoyed these facilities and so there were times when children were allowed into spas and pools with behavior that the parents were not controlling, ie, babies in the spa, screaming children in the pool. The indoor pool is a very secure area so lots of parents relaxed in the spa while their children went unsupervised in the pool with a lot of running, jumping and cannonballing. Also, the indoor pool and spa were closed twice for reasons unknown or explained. Our site was beautiful and the groundskeepers kept the place spotless. Newport is a fun town to explore. We camped at Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort (Formerly Outdoor Resorts) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

While it is wonderful to be right on the ocean front, you pay premium prices and get more wind and wet than if you were in a site back further in. You pay ultra-premium prices for ocean front and much of the time it's so foggy that you can't seen the ocean or the lighthouse.

We booked an oceanfront site for a week--and the view was incredible. We could whale-watch from the patio. The beach was just below, but there is a rather steep walk with switchbacks to get to it. Nice wide beach with a little bit of tidal pooling at low tide if you climb up on some of the rocks. You can see Yaquina Head Lighthouse from the front sites. Even if you don't book oceanfront, you can whale watch from many overlooks with benches and tables. The sites are nicely landscaped. We camped at Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort (Formerly Outdoor Resorts) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The resort is convenient for exploring the Oregon coast. Visit Cape Perpetua (45 min. drive south), Seal Rock (25 min. south), and Depoe Bay (great whale watching, 5 miles North). Eat at Tidal Raves in Depoe Bay.

Outstanding experience! Wonderful service, beautiful ocean beach to explore with easy access. The sites are all individually owned and are part of the rental pool, so consequently many of the sites have been individualized with outdoor kitchens, etc... Our site had an ocean view and a small grassy area out back. The people are also very friendly and the facilities are spotless, with two pool areas a sauna, hot tubs, and great shower facilities. The dogs also love this place as there are many areas to explore on the property. Can't wait to return! We camped at Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort (Formerly Outdoor Resorts) in a Motorhome.

This was an expensive place to stay, but it is likely the nicest spot we've stayed in with our RV. We stayed in one of the ocean front sites, and I can't emphasize how beautiful it was! We had a view of the spectacular Yaquina Point Lighthouse from our RV which was parked overlooking a cliff above the Pacific Ocean. It should be noted that, in our site, you park head in, and back out when you leave, which allows you to look out the front windshield and see the ocean. We went to bed each night to the soothing sound of the ocean breakers. I did take several walks through the park, and it would be my guess that the sites to the back wouldn't be near as nice, as they have no view, and they suffer from road noise from Route 101. Still, the facilities are very nice, and so staying in one of those sites wouldn't be a total loss and those sites are certainly cheaper than our oceanfront site. It's the only place I've been where I was given a copy of the tide tables on check in, which was kind of fun. We camped at Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort (Formerly Outdoor Resorts) in a Motorhome.

Loved staying here. A true "resort" with manicured grounds, full cement slab, picnic table, patio area, and grass. We stayed in an ocean front site facing the ocean with the Yaquina Head lighthouse in view. There are hiking paths, many that lead down the hill to a beach where dogs can run and play untethered and free. The WiFi was iffy but not horrible. Helpful and pleasant staff. Clubhouse is large with an indoor pool, jacuzzi and rec room. We camped at Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort (Formerly Outdoor Resorts) in a Motorhome.

Just a few minutes from Newport business district and the seaside areas of Nye Beach and Newport Bay. Very close to the Yaquina Head Lighthouse where you can whale watch from land and tour the lighthouse. Head north to explore quaint Depoe Bay and other points of interest. Head south to explore the picturesque Oregon coastline and visit Cape Perpetua. Plenty of beaches in the immediate area and beautiful spots to explore, as well as small towns.

After checking in the guards will guide you to a large lot to disconnect your tow, then guide you to your site. When you leave, you follow the same procedure. We loved it that there was no worry about blocking traffic to connect and disconnect.

Every rig in here was very nice, class A or C. Most of the occupants own their lot and live here for part of the year. The coast is incredibly beautiful here and is visible from some spots. It can be very windy. Indoor pool, beautiful restrooms and showers, and laundry room. Gated entrance. We camped at Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort (Formerly Outdoor Resorts) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is our 2nd time staying at this beautiful resort. I really don't think it is overpriced when just a few miles south, another park charges close to $50 for a so-so place. The people, both owners and other guests, are very friendly. Potlucks, happy hours, BBQs and entertainment are open to all guests. Open flame is not allowed due to the risk of fire and the nuisance of smoke, but drinks can be carried around in whatever form you like. I've never heard of the "advertising" issue. All the lots are individually owned and some owners choose to put their lot in the rental pool. Most lots are rented on-line so guests can chose their own lot. Lots prices range from $14k to $229k. The south end of the park does sit on a fault and some lots have had some issues in the past, but trust me it's not falling into the Pacific Ocean. The north end of the park has had erosion over the last 18 years but there is only one lot that is no longer usable. The resort has many amenities and there are more being considered. No need for a store. Walmart, Fred Meyers and Safeway are just a short 2 mile drive away. The Newport Cinema is across the street. The views are spectacular and there is private beach access. There are a lot of beautiful newer rigs in this park, but there are also many older, well kept motorhomes and everyone I've run into does not judge a person by the coach they drive, even a new Prevost. Do yourself a favor, come visit this beautiful resort and see for yourself just how beautiful Pacific Shores is. The park was very overpriced and we get that considering the lots are all owned and placed into a rental pool when available. People were less than friendly and most would not even talk to my wife or I nor could we even get a waive in return. The clubhouse is nothing special to speak of and reminiscent of your run of the mill community center at any condominium community. Sites are well kept and very sanitized for a "resort". We were told we could not have open flame BBQ nor could be openly partake in the consumption of our favorite bottles of beer, that any "drinks" had to be put in a cup. When asked why, the "security staff" told us they (the owners) did not wish to advertise for any one specific brand name. Very close minded if you ask me. We were curious as to sites for sale (just for the sake of pricing) and were shown several that ranged from $39,900 to $69,990. Problem is, this RV Park sits on an active fault line and is slowly sliding into the pacific as is evident on ocean front sites on the north end of the park. Long of the short, this "resort" is short on amenities, perhaps needs a store on premise and could use both staff and residents who are more welcoming and that actually smile. Perhaps it was the age of our 2009 Provost that people took offense to. Either way, it's a decent park with awesome views and I will leave it at that. We camped at Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort (Formerly Outdoor Resorts) in a Motorhome.

Here is a true resort facility. The lots are wide and spacious. And. Many have views of the ocean. Make sure to take advantage of the nature trail overlooking the ocean. The club house features an indoor pool and great sauna. Many parks claim to be resort quality. This park sets a high standard for resort quality.
